This may involve some weekend and evening work and hours can be flexible to accommodate this. 31 days including bank holidays rising to 33 after two years service. Pension: After 12 weeks permanent employment, FACT will contribute 3% of your salary into its Group Pension Policy. This is on the condition that the employee matches this with a 3% personal contribution. Marketing & Communications Department Working across all departments the Marketing & Communications team ensures maximum exposure for FACT and its partners, ensuring that our reputation is protected and that the company profile is raised at every possible opportunity. Purpose of Post The Head of Marketing & Communications has principal responsibility for devising and implementing strategies that will develop FACT s audiences and markets. Reporting to the Executive Director the Head of Marketing & Communications will develop, implement and deliver creative and integrated solutions and enhance key audience and business relationships. In particular, the role will develop and lead on the delivery of the recently developed Communications and Audience Development Strategy. Key Responsibilities Include: - Strategy and Planning Implement the Communications and Audience Development Strategy that serves the whole organisation, working closely with the Executive Director to align with commercial goals. To work with Executive and Senior Management team to embed audience development at the centre of the organisation s programme planning and strategic decision making. Monitor the success of the implementation and review and amend plan in agreed cycles Lead and drive the development and use of the FACT and FACT Services brands.
Contribute to the development of FACT s digital presence and online programme development Support the Executive team in shaping and delivering the organisation at a strategic level. Act as key link across the organisation providing a cohesive voice for communications. Communications and Messaging To position and raise awareness of FACT as the UK s leading organisation for commissioning, exhibiting, promoting and supporting artists work and innovation in the fields of film, video, and new media across a range of audiences and stakeholders, locally, nationally and internationally. To broaden our audiences and reach new markets. Deliver proactive and effective local, national and international media campaigns and overall promotion of all FACT s programme and services, including media partnership development. Develop our digital reach, identifying online influencers and forging relationships, planning the creation of digital content and seeking out opportunities for online engagement. Research and develop profile-raising initiatives and ensure we are affiliated to appropriate professional memberships. Leadership and Management Provide clear leadership and direction for the Marketing & Communications team in support of FACT s priorities. Effectively manage the Marketing & Communications team to achieve maximum performance and to ensure professional development. Direct and manage resources, contribute to budget planning and monitoring, oversee the effectiveness of organisational databases and establish systems that monitor the success of FACT s marketing activities. Key Relationships and Influencing To work closely with our building partners, City Screen and LEAF to develop shared common aims and objectives to develop audiences and communicate cohesively. Develop peer group and influential networks for FACT working with the Chair of the Board, the Director and Executive Director and the Senior Management Team. Support the Director and Executive Director in developing potential corporate relationships.

Person Specification Essential Proven experience in planning and executing successful marketing and communication strategies Understanding of contemporary marketing developments A sophisticated understanding of how to work the media Experience of developing and delivering media partnerships Experience of successful use of digital marketing An understanding of effective brand management and how to enhance it Evidence of preparing successful marketing/advertising campaigns Excellent research and development skills Ability to communicate to all levels Leadership and management skills including excellent performance management skills and experience of professional development. Highly literate with excellent copy writing skills. A high level of computer literacy Extensive knowledge of relevant current legislation applicable to marketing and communications activity Desirable Experience within the Creative Media/Arts sector An enthusiasm for contemporary culture, cinema and the arts A working knowledge of FACT and our audience Behavioral Competencies An effective leader with the ability to motivate and inspire their team.
