SBR (Styrene butadiene rubber): Density 1.6 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 65 º Elongation 400 % Tensile Strenght 8 N/mm 2-50 ºC to 110 ºC (-58 ºF to 230 ºF) Similar properties to NR, improving properties such as ageing resistance and temperature resistance. Moderate resistance to tearing, ozone and weathering. Water, weak organic acids and moderate chemicals. NR (Natural Rubber): Beige Density 1.1 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 45 º Elongation 625 % Tensile Strenght 19 N/mm 2-50 ºC to 90 ºC (-58 ºF to 194 ºF) Excellent mechanical properties such as break strength, resilience and tear resistance. Excellent electrical insulating properties. High impact strength, excellent dynamic properties and low residual deformation. Resistant to oils, fuels and moderate acids and alkalis. 6
Neoprene CR (Chloroprene rubber): Density 1.37 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 50 º Elongation 300 % Tensile Strenght 8 N/mm 2 High mechanical properties and resistance to abrasion. Self-extinguishing and good adhesion to metal. Oils, fuels and moderate acids and alkalis. Weather and ozone resistant. -25 ºC to 125 ºC (-13 ºF to 257 ºF) NBR (Nitrilic rubber): Density 1.5 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 70 º Elongation 400 % Tensile Strenght 6 N/mm 2-30 ºC to 120 ºC (-22 ºF to 248 ºF) Good mechanical properties such as tensile strength, compressive strength and bending. Excellent electrical insulating properties. Hot water/steam and polar solvents such as acetone, methanol or esters. IIR ( Butyl rubber): Density 1.27 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 60 º Elongation 400 % Tensile Strenght 9 N/mm 2-40 ºC to 135 ºC (-40 ºF to 275 ºF) Impermeable to gas and air. Excellent resistance to oxidation and ozone. Low resilience, that provides outstanding impact damping capacity. Good electrical resistance. Where an excellent gas-tightness is required. Resistant to most chemicals, including mineral acids. It is not suitable for use with oils and hydrocarbonated solvents. 8
HYPALON (Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber): Density 1.36 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 60 º Elongation 225 % Tensile Strenght 8 N/mm 2-35 ºC to 140 ºC (-31 ºF to 284 ºF) Excellent resistante to oxidation, weathering and ozone. Good resistance to chudrocarbonated solvents. Flame resistant. Acids, oils and non-aromatic benzenes. Silicone rubber (VMQ): Translucent Density 1.16 g/cm 3 Hardness (Shore A) 60 º Elongation 225 % Tensile Strenght 8 N/mm 2-70 ºC to 220 ºC (-94 ºF to 428 ºF) Completely unalterable by ozone, weathering and ultraviolet radiation. Good electrical insulating properties. Physiologically inert, ideal for field of medicine applications. Where oils, water and ozone resistance is required.
