Leadership Development Program Leaders from Alberta for the World

If you are leading, what compels others to follow? This is a fundamental question of effective leadership. Executive Education s Leadership Development Program takes you through key concepts of effective leadership, offering you a practical toolkit of leadership strategies. The program leverages learning, experience, and relationshipbuilding to deliver a highly integrated, project-based leadership development program which explores the demands of leadership and the skills that are required to lead effectively. We take you from exploring personal styles and leading self, through to leading others and thus impacting and enriching your organization. You will leave empowered to have a greater impact on your organization. Who Should Attend Current and emerging leaders with up to five years of experience. Supervisors, managers, group leaders, and team leaders who have little formal training in effectively leading the work of others. High potential employees who may be assuming supervisory responsibilities in the near future. Non-supervisory personnel wishing to learn more about supervisory duties and responsibilities to enhance their career prospects. Experienced leaders and supervisors who are interested in updating their leadership skills and practices appropriate to the demands of today s workplace. Program Highlights Develop leadership competencies. Increase your understanding of the key roles, responsibilities, and functions of a supervisor. Develop the skills and attitudes required to effectively supervise and lead others. Execute a personal or workplace leadership project that will provide an opportunity for transfer of learning. Demonstrate application of concepts learned in the program by analyzing case studies and presenting real-life solutions to scenarios. Work collaboratively with peers to solve problems and present findings. Demonstrate accountability in personal and workplace situations and foster accountability in team members. THE Leadership JOURNEY Self Discovery Impactful Leader Apply online at www.executiveeducation.ca or call 1-866-492-7676

Articles for further reading and discussion. Program Overview The Leadership Development Program uses self assessment tools to guide you in discovering who you are as a leader, how to work with your strengths to develop a high-functioning team, and which personal skills you should focus on in order to reach your leadership potential. The program takes a strategic view of leadership and has been designed to be interactive and collaborative. By incorporating case studies, small group discussions, learning partnerships and lectures, the design of the Leadership Development Program supports learning transfer and contributes to the benefits you and your organization receive from the program. Online access to your peers and instructors further reinforces and enhances your learning experience, creating a community of support outside of the classroom. The program also includes a learning opportunity project, which enables you to address an existing workplace challenge and elicit feedback from peers and the instructor team. With post program discussions and coaching, you have continued access to the instructor team following your completion of the in-class program. All of these elements translate into a direct and practical impact for you, your work unit and your organization.
