Having built effective programmes and strong partnerships to help young people into jobs and self-employment in the United Kingdom, public and private organisations around the world have been turning to Prince s Trust International in their search for solutions to youth unemployment and to learn from the experience of The Prince s Trust in helping young people into work. Prince s Trust International draws on the programme portfolio developed by The Prince s Trust and is currently running or planning pilot projects to test different operating models in different regions of the world, working with governments and NGOs, as well as corporate partners. Prince s Trust International is currently focused on strengthening our work in existing countries; Malta and Jordan. Alongside this we have ambitious plans to launch in 5 priority countries for 2016/17; Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada and Barbados.
Following a successful Get Into pilot programme in Jordan, we are now looking to deepen our impact in country through piloting the Team programme. This project will be one of the first international pilots of the Team programme and will be working in conjunction with Mercy Corps, a global non-profit operating in Jordan to support people to build secure, productive and just communities. This role will be responsible for working with Mercy Corps, other local partners, stakeholders and funders to develop and deliver the project plan, ensuring the successful delivery of pilot programme in Jordan as well as establishing a framework for future roll out and sustainability. This work will include providing training, support and guidance on the Team framework and methodologies, as well as working in close partnership with Mercy Corps to effectively build on their existing knowledge, resources and delivery, whilst ensuring the overall integrity of the Team programme. This role may also include supporting the Prince s Trust International team in scoping the potential for new projects, both within Jordan and in other countries worldwide. Responsible to: Responsible for: Prince s Trust International Senior Programmes Manager N/A Key Relationships: Prince s Trust International team Key stakeholders in Jordan; including Mercy Corps, local NGOs, employers and training providers and others Project funder(s) The Prince s Trust Programmes and Development department Other Prince s Trust Head Office Functions and Departments as required Stakeholders, funders and partners in other countries as required Budget: Responsible for managing relevant project budgets within the financial management guidelines and for supporting the Prince s Trust International team to maximise draw down on all relevant funding contracts. Detailed Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with stakeholders, project partners, funders and employers in Jordan to deliver the project plan the delivery of pilot Team programme/s in Jordan. Provide information, advice, support and training to stakeholders and partners on issues relating to the Team programme in Jordan, including developing and producing localised programme materials (toolkits, profile forms, presentations, session plans etc).
2. Manage the Team project in accordance with the project plan and budget, the Team programme Toolkit, and minimum quality standards. Provide guidance, support and training to project partners on the preparation, design, development, delivery and follow up of the Team programme, including all aspects of young people s involvement with the programme. 3. Ensure the project delivery meets the targets set by Prince s Trust International, local stakeholders and funders. Support project partners to build effective operational frameworks to ensure the future sustainability of the programme and its ongoing benefits to young people, including the ability to continue to meet targets as set by Prince s Trust International, local stakeholders and funders. 4. Ensure good communications between the project partners and Prince s Trust International; including regular reports, tracking of delivery outcomes and feedback on progress, risks and issues. Ensure all delivery and funder requirements are complied with and that income opportunities are maximised, through accurate and up-to-date records in line with The Trust s data protection policy. 5. Work with the Prince s Trust International team and project partners to identify, develop and maintain effective relationships with international agencies, other partner organisations and funders to generate support for the project and identify potential for further work both in Jordan and other countries as required 6. Support the development of funding bids and presentations to potential funders for future activity in Jordan or further pilots of the Team programme in other countries. 7. Keep up to date with relevant industry and sector developments in both the UK and the Middle East; especially in relation to potential opportunities to enhance and develop Team programmes in Jordan and the wider region. 8. Ensure good working relationships with The Prince s Trust Programmes and Development department and other teams, as required, for input and support to the project. 9. Support the Prince s Trust International Senior Programmes Manager throughout the implementation of the Team project and undertake any required monitoring and reporting tasks to inform their view of financial or activity numbers. 10. Ensure accurate programme information is communicated on the Prince s Trust International website, any stakeholder, funder and project partner websites or publications, and in press releases. 11. Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by Prince s Trust International, including travel and work across various countries, when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate will be an experienced individual with an understanding of the challenges facing disadvantaged young people and the ability to deliver results under challenging and varied circumstances, including through both direct and non direct reports. They will have strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to work with people at different levels of seniority and from different countries in the public, private and voluntary sectors. They will have an in-depth understanding of The Prince s Trust Team programme, experience of its delivery, and the ability to share this with external audiences and delivery partners (please note that this is an essential requirement for short listing and we will not be considering applicants without this experience). They will have enthusiasm and passion for the vision of Prince s Trust International, and a conviction to deliver high positive outcomes for delivery partners and young people worldwide.
