` Details of the job Post title: Salary grade: Job description Strategic Planning Officer K Hours: 37 Location: Reports to: JDH Strategic Planning Manager Service area: Overall purpose of the post The post holder will research, develop and deliver high level and deep dive strategic and analytical documents. His/her work will draw from intelligence and analysis of the Council and external organisations, including the private sector. In addition, they will help support the Council s strategic planning framework to ensure it is delivered against through the annual business planning cycle and that key work streams are captured in robust supporting plans. In their work, they will ensure that documents follow an evidence-based approach, utilising national and local intelligence and datasets and examine potential impacts of legislative/ policy changes. Principal responsibilities 1. Research, develop, write and deliver high level and deep dive strategic and analytical documents. His/her work will draw from intelligence and analysis of the Council and external organisations, including the private sector. 2. Work closely with Business Intelligence colleagues to ensure that documents are are based on robust, clear evidence, analysis and datasets. 3. Support the development of corporate and partnership planning and performance frameworks, with clear coordination and joined up work linking through to key outcomes 4. To act as a key officer in coordinating and facilitating the development, implementation and review of corporate policy, supporting and advising councillors and officers on policy matters Version 1.1 Date: 13/12/06
5. Work with others to secure and commission resources where appropriate to enable Business Intelligence s ambitions. 6.
