Our role as provider of non-clinical services to the Northern Region DHBs includes Information Services, Staff Services (Payroll and HR Administration), Regional Internal Audit and to the National DHB Sector Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain (FPSC). This position description provides an indicative outline of the purpose and key responsibilities and tasks of the role. Title and Reporting Relationships Position title: Assistant Accountant Reporting to: Finance Services Location: Penrose, Auckland Purpose of the Role The purpose of the role is to provide efficient provision of services to support the Business Performance Advisory team. The Business Performance Advisory team supports the Services of healthalliance NZ and healthalliance FPSC. The team works closely with their internal (and external) stakeholders to deliver Opex and Capex monthend results and performance analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting, and as trusted advisers adding value that assist in decision making. The key accountabilities of the role would include: Project and Fixed Asset accounting: assist with projects set up, accounting and reporting tasks; Portfolio s, Project and coordinators query resolution Management accounting: assist with month end processes, including data cleansing and validation; monthend and ad hoc reporting and analysis; assist with budgeting and forecasting. Key Responsibilities and Tasks Expected Outcomes Management & Project Accounting Assist with project/fixed asset accounting and reporting tasks (Oracle project set up and updates, project journals, invoicing and receipting) Project database maintenance Portfolio s, Project and coordinators query resolution Assist with month end processes including invoicing Responsible for data cleansing and validation (e.g: contractors and recoveries, vendors support invoices, purchase orders validity and coding, non financial metrics) Assist with month end and ad hoc reporting and insightful analysis Accurate and timely month end processes Reconciled accounts Contractor costs and all recoveries reported at resource level by period Accurate and comprehensive Vendor costs Invoicing of on charges is accurate and up to date Monthly Operational and ad hoc Reports and insightful analysis provided to stakeholders in time Accurately reflect Project module updates Documentation, procedures up to date Errors are identified and corrected on a timely basis Databases are up to date Assist with budgeting and forecasting Grow the scope of the role and ultimately support one or several small size Services autonomously Develop and maintain procedures and user guides - 4 -
