Applications Versamid 280 B-75 is a polyamide/epoxy adduct in n-butanol designed for reaction with solid or liquid epoxy resins. It offers excellent compatibility with Bisphenol A-based epoxy resins allowing normal induction times to be reduced and occasionally be eliminated. Epoxy resin systems based on Versamid 280 B-75 provide unusually good flow and leveling properties and low moisture sensitivity during cure. Coating formulations containing Versamid 280 B-75 have fast drying times similar to Versamid 125 and show excellent solvent and chemical resistance properties compared to Versamid 140. Versamid 280 B-75 is suitable in maintenance coatings, primers, and enamel paint formulations. It provides excellent compatibility with solvent-free liquid epoxy resins for formulation of high solids coatings. Coating formulations based on Versamid 280 B-75 and Versamid G 2000 meet the stringent requirements outlined in US Navel Specifications Mil P-24441 for corrosion-resistant primers and topcoats. These include the measures described in Federal, State, and Local health and safety regulations, thorough ventilation of the workplace, good skin care, and wearing of protective goggles. All safety information is provided in the Safety Data Sheet for Versamid 280 B-75. Storage Versamid 280 B75 may absorb moisture and carbon dioxide if left in open containers, which may result in an increased viscosity and some foaming when curing epoxy resins. Therefore, it should be kept in tightly closed containers when not in use and stored in a cool, dry place. Properly stored and protected, an unopened container of Versamid 280 B75 should have a shelf life of two years.
