JOB SCRIPTION Job purpose The purpose of this post is to team lead the children & young people support services for Fife Women s Aid which provides services to women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and to act as a Team Leader towards meeting the aims and objectives of Fife Women s Aid. Reporting to Fife Women s Aid Manager irect Reports from Children & Young People Senior worker and all Children and Young People staff. Key activities Responsible under the general direction of the Manager to provide team leadership, working with minimum supervision and take day to day responsibility for operational decisions, planning, development, monitoring and review. Take the lead in defined organisational areas as appropriate. Provide supervision, coaching, developmental and mentoring services to the Children & Young Person s team in Fife Women s Aid. This includes acting as Registered Manager for the Children & Young People s service for the Care Commission and/or leading on compliance with required regulations and preparation for annual inspections. Act as Child Protection Officer for Fife Women s Aid.
1. nsure the quality provision of practical and emotional support for children and young people who experience domestic abuse and live in the Fife community. nsure the provision of information, responsive assistance and support services (refuge based, visiting support, outreach or office based). nsure children and young people accessing the service receive appropriate and accurate information and support about their rights and that all relevant paperwork is completed accurately. 2. Supervise the key worker activities of the Children & Young People s Service. nsure provision of key work services for children and young people in refuge accommodation and Children & Young People accessing visiting support services. Co-ordinate operational rotas and children and young people s service duty cover. Take responsibility for developing and maintaining service user information. 3. nsure the preparation of relevant reports. nsure that Child Protection issues are dealt with appropriately, records are updated and procedures are followed. nsure the maintenance of up to date information on both national and local legislation. 4. Take responsibility for carrying out development, monitoring and evaluation of the quality of children and young people s service. 5. Promote the work of FWA in the local and wider community, helping to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues affecting children and young people. Support the promotion of FWA s public and media profile. Co-ordinate involvement in preventative, educational and multi-agency work. Work collaboratively with Scottish Women s Aid and take part in local/ national multiagency training and partnership work. Contribute to maintaining and developing a positive, supportive and integrated service for all service users of Fife Women s Aid and maintaining good public relations out with the organisation. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and strong service user involvement focus. Contribute to effective recruitment and selection processes. nsure good overall management of staff, in line with FWA HR policies and guidance, with emphasis on developing potential through delegation and training. Provide training to staff as required. 7. nsure the service operates within organisational policies, procedures and is compliant with legislation and regulatory and funding bodies. nsure staff follow
organisational working practices, systems and processes. Keep up to date with changes in legislation and working practices and ensure national care standards and SSSC requirements are met at all times. Perform administrative tasks in a timely way to ensure smooth running of the service. Provide quantitative and qualitative information on support and related issues regularly including written reports, as required. 8. Take a proactive role in promoting equality and anti-discriminatory practice throughout all aspects of the work. Comply with, and ensure compliance with, relevant health & safety legislation and good practice as set out in Fife Women s Aid H&S policies and guidance. 9. Contribute to the financial management and fundraising for FWA as required. Monitor the Children & Young People s Services Budget and ensure spending limits adhered to. nsure compliance with FWA Finance Policies and Procedures. 10. Perform other duties as reasonably required by Fife Women s Aid Manager and show commitment to ongoing personal development.
Job title: Children & Young People s Team Leader PRSON SPCIFICATION Qualifications, training and experience ssential esirable Relevant qualification in Social work, community education, CYP support services, At least SVQ Level IV or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject. Must be willing to work towards gaining the relevant qualification as required by the SSSC. At least 3 years experience working in an environment requiring similar knowledge and skills. Post holder will be required to be registered with SSSC.
