PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE - Conduct analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to undertake event evaluation on the visitor impact delivered by DNSW supported events. - Conduct analysis of quantitative data to evaluate Event KPIs as required. - Implementation of DNSW events research processes and programs, including development of online and face-to-face surveys, and crowd counting with the events research team, external research suppliers and other external stakeholders. - Analyse event research data to produce reports in an accurate and timely manner. - Conduct setup and procurement-to-pay activities as required for Event research. 3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES KEY RESULT AREA Event Performance. This predominantly includes: Event Research setups, Post event analysis, Meetings with Event Owners. % RESPONSIBILITY Role Specific KPI s 85 Develop quantitative and qualitative surveys and methodologies for various events to be used in the evaluation of a DNSW supported event. This includes online, face to face, and crowd counting methodologies. Directly liaise with event partners to coordinate research programs in order to evaluate events against KPIs as established in the contract between DNSW and event partners. This includes attending internally held contract deliverables meetings with Event Owners which are facilitated by the Events Development team. Directly liaise with the Events Research team and external stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of primary research programs as necessary to evaluate events and campaigns. Gather, clean and analyse event evaluation data, collected via quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Produce visitor impact reports and produce (in collaboration with other Events Research staff) performance KPI reports in a timely and accurate manner. Provide input and guidance (in collaboration with other Events Research staff) to event partners, external stakeholders and research service providers to ensure collection of representative data and continuous improvement of processes and methodology. Conduct set-up and procurement-to-pay activities as required for Event Research. Work under the guidance of the Senior Analyst for methods and research process and additionally with the manager re procedure and policy. Provide reports on specific event performance, measurement of contractual KPIs, survey results and data for media releases as requested. Participate in methodological development and review activities as required. Ensure both pre & post event research is conducted in a timely and accurate manner Provide event evaluation results within agreed timeline of receiving complete event data from the Event Owner via the Event Development team Produce a Performance against KPI s report for each allocated event where a KPI report is contractually required. KEY RESULT AREA Relationship Management % RESPONSIBILITY Role Specific KPI s 5 Participate in relationships with external research service providers to facilitate accurate and timely collection of data and to ensure both DNSW and its key event partners research and evaluation objectives are continually met. Engage with event partners to understand the event, establish relevant research programs and source information and data as required to measure contractual KPIs. Maintain strong ongoing relationships with all internal stakeholders to work towards Visitor Economy Taskforce objectives. All issues regarding internal and external relationships raised and resolved promptly in timely fashion and document as required. Ensure ongoing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders are maintained and foster new relationships Operational and Financial Management (including Reporting) 5 Provide accurate and timely reports. Assist in the reporting of research results to event stakeholders, partners and internally. This includes checking the work of other team members. Provide a range of other ad hoc research, information and reports to support effective decision making, as required. Work with external research suppliers to ensure value for money for research services is provided. Continual input of ideas for new systems and processes to maximise efficiencies in analysis and delivery of results. Create and draft manuals and process documents for review relating to tasks undertaken by the Events Assessment and Reporting team. All internal and external reports accurate and delivered to deadline. Adherence to budget. No greater than up to 5% variance. Nil audit or compliance issues. Adhere to all Destination NSW Policies and Procedures. Appropriate storage of all files and documentation maintained. Ensure value for money achieved from research suppliers. All Half-Year and Yearly Performance reviews completed, reviewed and discussed the Manager, Event Assessment and Reporting; including training needs, areas for development, potential career opportunities and motivation; by January 31st and June 30th. EXPERIENCE A minimum of two-three years quantitative research experience, including collection, analysis and reporting of data and comprehensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Demonstrated experience in executing market research projects, including working with external research suppliers, questionnaire development, research analysis and presentation. Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with colleagues and building and maintaining effective relationships with research suppliers and other external stakeholders. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Advanced Excel including Pivot tables, Word and PowerPoint, SPSS (or other research package), and research survey software. Ability to meet tight research and reporting timeframes.
