This post will require travel throughout the region and occasional travel in the rest of the UK, particularly to Liverpool. Scotland 28,000 33,000 per annum depending on experience 25 days and Scottish Public Holidays Job Summary You will work closely with the Board Directors, tide Advisory Group and the wider team as well as our network of carers to shape, drive and embed a learning organisational culture across the whole organisation. Specifically, you will lead the development of an exciting learning and development programme for our carer members, based on their emerging needs. In addition, given the educational role of our tide network, you will also work in partnership with other organsiations, when we are commissioned to design and deliver training programmes for managers and staff, which will enable them to work more effectively with our carers as equal partners. 1 P a g e
Main duties and responsibilities Identify training needs, building learning and development plans and developing learning interventions and materials that can be delivered in-house. Ensure that the learning and development needs of our carer members are captured, assessed and responded to, using a variety of learning interventions that are effective and measurable. Contribute to the upskilling of the team and our network of carers; mixing the traditional with cutting edge methods and blended approach for learning and development. Ensure that all of our learning and development programmes are accredited with a credible awarding body. Working with current and former carers of people living with dementia in the tide network Establish and embed a systematic process of engaging with carers to identify their current knowledge and skills as well as their learning and development needs; Undertake a review of our current carers development programme and identify the improvements needed; Engage and work with carers to co-design and develop a suite of programmes to meet the emerging needs of the individual and collective group of carers; Working with the wider LSN and tide team Establish a systematic process of identifying the current knowledge and skills across the team and identify ongoing training and development needs of staff members; Work with the team to either commission the necessary training required or develop bespoke programmes to be delivered in-house; Working with the Business Development Manager, take responsibility for the training and development budget for both staff and carer members of the tide network; Take the lead responsibility for the development, management and implementation of the training offering and portfolio; Work with the wider team to Identify the next generation of training / learning and development opportunities reflecting our strategy and develop full portfolio of potential learning and development products aligned with current and emerging market opportunities; 2 P a g e
Working with partners Keep abreast of new developments within the Health & Social Care Sector and the wider care system. Create new learning opportunities to ensure these are reflected in practice; Proactively engage with a broad range of partner organisations, particularly in the educational and research field to explore opportunities for commissioned or collaborative work; General responsibilities Working with the Carers Engagement and Business Support Manager ensure that all the systems and processes are in place to deliver a high quality learning and development experience for participants on our programemes including: equipment, expenses, travel arrangements, interpreting services, providing biographies and any promotional materials; Working closely with the senior management team to identify opportunities for growth of the business; Identify potential business opportunities Pay due attention to health and safety at all times and where necessary risk assess venues prior to an engagement activity with particular reference to tide carers as volunteers, in line with the organisations Volunteering Policy and Health and Safety Policy; Please note that the responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and this job description may be subject to change as the role evolves over time.
