Toxics Substance Reduction Plan Phase II PM 10 Particulate Matter CAS # NA-M09 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Bell City Foundry (Brantford) Limited is a custom cast iron casting company that makes gray and ductile iron castings for a number of applications. Their processes include the buying and staging of steel and other raw materials, the purchasing and blending of special sand with additives for making the molds, and the cores for molding the steel parts. There is heating of steel and non-ferrous alloys in a furnace to melt the steel and make a uniform alloy to pour into the mold cavities. There is also the cooling and de-molding of the parts, trimming and grinding of rough edges from the molded part, and shot blasting to create a smooth finish on the part. As a result of these processes Bell City Foundry reported to the 2012 NPRI and to the Ontario Ministry of the Environment under the Toxics Reduction Act for the substances Particulate Matter (PM) 10, and 2.5 and are required to file a Phase II Toxics Reduction Plan under Ontario Regulation 455/09. 2013Pinchin Environmental Ltd. i
