Page 6 Maywood Middle School The permit pre-application package was submitted to King County DDES for review and comment. Comments were distributed and discussed 3/4/10. King County is taking a unique interpretation of the code section related to gymnasium construction and use that could increase construction costs or reduce the size of the proposed gym. Additional work is required to review options which could include submitting a code interpretation request to the International Building Code Interpretation Committee. While the existing site drainage and infiltration has worked perfectly since the school opened in 1969, it does not meet current code calculation requirements. Additional work is required to refine options and achieve a reasonable solution. Permit submittal documents will be completed as soon as possible following the comments and review. Resolving questions and uncertainties tends to help speed-up the permitting process. Liberty High School Schematic design work continues to develop a site/building master plan. The team continues to review design options to address the current scope of work and long term campus needs. The master plan will address longterm future needs so the current project will not inhibit or limit future options.
