We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer, and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer. We provide expert, personalised support and information via our Support Line and through a range of publications We fund innovative research to find the breakthroughs that will change how we understand, diagnose and treat pancreatic cancer We campaign for change; for better care, treatment and research, and for pancreatic cancer to have the recognition it needs. Pancreatic cancer is the tenth most common cancer in the UK, with 9,400 people diagnosed each year. For decades pancreatic cancer has remained on the side-lines, with survival rates stuck at 3%, and only 1.4% of the total cancer research spend 1 dedicated to beating the disease. But things are changing. We ve seen the start of positive change in treatment and care for pancreatic cancer patients. Today five year survival rates across the UK are at around 5%, that s 180 more people each year surviving for five years or more. 1 National Cancer Research nstitute partner spend

We will have the first ever national pancreatic cancer clinical guidelines to aid those involved in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. And UK research investment has now reached 10 million a year. We have much more to do. Our ten-year vision is to transform the future for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. We will work to increase research spend to a game changing 25 million, with 10 million raised by our own team in the next five years. We will campaign for improved access to treatments, and better care for everyone with the disease. We will double the reach of our flagship service, the Pancreatic Cancer UK Support Line. And increase our income to 10 million a year by 2022. But we can t do this alone. We have always been at the heart of a determined community of people who share our ambitions. Job Description Digital Manager Reporting to: Senior Communications Manager Background This is an important new role at Pancreatic Cancer UK, and a particularly exciting time to join this fastgrowing charity. This position is a newly established role that will join a busy communications team of five, including the Head of Strategic Marketing, Senior Communications Manager, Communication Executive, Media Manager and Media Officer. This role is supported by the Communications Executive but has no line management responsibility. Purpose The role manages the digital function for Pancreatic Cancer UK, overseeing and growing our digital channels, increasing engagement and driving traffic to our website. The post holder will be the charities in-house digital expert with an outstanding track record of inspiring and leading on all things digital. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of current digital trends and tactics and be able to advise on digital approaches to help deliver on our supporter engagement goals in the context of our organisation wide strategy. You will play a crucial role in implementing key digital development projects and digital communications campaigns. The post holder will be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve our digital processes, championing excellence in digital and ensuring that Pancreatic Cancer UK responds to the changing digital landscape.

Main responsibilities Digital support Overall responsibility for the smooth-running of the charity s digital function on a day-to-day basis. ncluding providing digital support to other departments within the charity, such as: o CMS support o Consulting on website page changes and development work o Providing social media support at major fundraising events or other key external events on weekends and weeknights where necessary (you will be able to claim back these hours as time off in lieu) Digital strategy Work with the Senior Communications Manager to start to identify areas to be included within the charity s digital strategy for 2018-19. Digital platform development & maintenance With support from the Communications Executive, manage the development and maintenance of the charity s website, microsites and social networks. Lead on user testing of the website to ensure we are catering to the needs of our key audiences i.e. patients, carers, researchers and health professionals and make changes to user journeys accordingly. Social media management Drive traffic to our website through our social media channels in order to extend our reach. Overseeing and growing our key social media channels. Explore/develop digital channels which might be of use to the organisation such as Linkedn, Snapchat etc. Devise the charity s social media strategy in line with the objectives of the overarching digital strategy. Support the Communications Executive, who will develop the content plan in accordance with the social media strategy, schedule content and look after the day-to-day running of the social media channels

Digital projects and campaigns Working together with the Senior Communications Manager and with support from the communications Executive, lead on digital development projects Working together with the Senior Communications Manager and with support from the Communications Executive, develop and deliver the online element of communications campaigns such as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Digital Advertising and Analytics Working with the Head of Strategic Marketing and the Senior Communications Manager, develop plans for earned, owned and bought media and devise, measure and evaluate digital campaigns both to support our fundraising and awareness work as well as to demonstrate the crucial work we carry out as a charity. Manage our Google grant AdWords account and digital advertising i.e. on social media channels Help colleagues in other teams, particularly fundraising and services, to develop and implement digital strategies such as social media and Pay Per Click campaigns. Analysis and reporting Using Google analytics and social media analytical tools to prepare monthly reports (alongside the Communications Assistant) and analysing how we have met our KPs Use analytical tools to assess campaigns and use the findings to make recommendations to improve future campaigns. Translate campaign data so that those outside the Communications team understand the results. Digital content Support the Senior Communications Manager and the Communications Executive to develop engaging, original content for our digital channels. Lead on the development of video content to engage supporters in our work. Create and edit engaging video content in-house for our online communities Working with the Senior Communications Manager, develop a strategy for our blog (in line with the overarching digital strategy) and advise the Communications Executive in the creation of a strategic content plan.

Have overall responsibility for the SEO of our website to ensure we rank highly in organic searches. Develop a content marketing strategy for our website to improve our SEO through blog posts, white papers, new pages etc. Determine how and where to distribute our content to ensure the widest reach Digital training Develop and maintain an internal digital training programme to support our website and email marketing champions in each department and deliver this with support from the Communications Executive. Assist the senior management team and trustees with manging their social media channels within the organisation providing them with support and motivation. Third party management Manage key relationships with digital agencies in order to report issues and manage digital development projects i.e hosting and maintenance agency, website/microsite developers, digital security, PPC advertising, Digital leadership Stay up-to-date with digital trends and demonstrate how the charity can adopt and implement these. Email Marketing Work with the Senior Communications Manager and key stakeholders to ensure that all email communication delivers in a way most appropriate for the target audience. Ensure the continual optimisation of our email marketing strategy with a focus on growth of our email lists. Ensure that the strategy is developed with data insight and analysis, and adapt it to respond to new insight dentify, test and develop email plans, to maximise engagement, revenue generation and stewardship from existing and potential supporters Design Assist the Senior Communications Manager with the development of digital assets for the Charity Liaise with our Digital and Design agencies to ensure work adheres to our brand guidelines and is of required standard Use Photoshop and ndesign plan/create multi-media communications materials.
