Job urpose a) rovide advice and support to a designated portfolio of Faculties/Schools/Services on a broad range of personnel matters. b) rovide support to the ersonnel Managers in the implementation of casework actions and personnel programmes of work c) Contribute to personnel initiatives in support of University strategies including the Human Resource Strategy, University lan and the developmental work agenda of ersonnel Services. 3. Relationships Responsible to: A designated ersonnel Manager working closely with the team of ersonnel Managers and the ersonnel Administration Manager 4. Main Activities a) rovide personnel advice, professional support and implementation in a broad range of areas including: i. Vacancy management including the identification of alternative routes to the direct replacement of leavers and advice on the content of job descriptions, person specifications and advertisements as appropriate ii. iii. iv. Recruitment and selection, including the design and administration of assessment centres, attendance at interviews and providing advice on the terms and conditions of employment for new staff Grading including undertaking the duties of Role Analyst in accordance with the University s job evaluation scheme ersonnel management casework including supporting cases of disciplinary, grievance, harassment, and capability in accordance with the University s terms and conditions of employment. v. Sickness absence including the monitoring of sickness absence rates for designated departments, the organisation and administration of occupational health referrals and follow up meetings with the individuals where required vi. Changes to individuals terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the University s terms and conditions of employment as directed by the relevant ersonnel Manager. b) Deliver training and development to University staff in key areas of employment law and recognised good practice.

General Terms and Conditions of Service for Staff Appointment to the University The University is an independent Statutory Higher Education Corporation. As such the Board of Governors of the University is the employer, and is responsible for determining the employment policy, pay and conditions of service of all its employees.
