To support groups and organisations within a designated locality to access funding thereby enhancing the ability of the sector to respond to the needs of local areas and residents on a more sustainable basis 2. To provide a range of support and development interventions to capacity build voluntary community and faith organisations (both new and established) to become more efficient, effective, resilient and sustainable. 3. To advise groups of residents and organisations on governance matters. 4. To work as part of the locality team to co-ordinate the sector in providing early intervention and prevention support to address the needs of Sefton residents, leading to improved outcomes, showcasing the contribution the sector makes. Provide a comprehensive capacity building support service to enhance capability, sustainability and resilience amongst front line VCF groups in the locality. 2. Provide customised support in the registration and start-up of VCF organisations and social enterprises, including implementing model instruments, governance formation and developing operational procedures to assist organisations to grow and be sustained. 3. Providing groups with information about funding opportunities and associated support, through bid writing and advice, funding surgeries and events. 4. To provide bespoke support to organisations identifying and meeting needs, project start up, income generation, planning and development; 5. Liaise with other CVS services to provide a seamless route of support to groups. 6. Facilitate training events, surgeries and masterclasses to promote best practice in running and developing VCF organisations. 7. Undertake organisation diagnostic and health checks to support organisations in identifying development needs and provide interventions to empower groups to be robust, viable and quality assured organisations. 8. Provide VCF sector organisations with support and advice to implement quality assurance frameworks. 9. Work with colleagues to develop a range of accessible and online tools and resources to equip local groups to review their operational and development practice, covering subjects such as model policy and procedures, good governance, measuring impact and success. 10. Work proactively with the CVS colleagues and partners in identifying emergent local priorities and developing resilient VCF organisations and services to meet needs. 11. To liaise with other CVS staff & initiatives and other appropriate agencies to provide information and support to voluntary community and faith groups. 12. Provide and comply with monitoring and performance reporting and requirements from Sefton CVS and its funders. 13. General The post-holder will be required to participate in staff development and use all relevant learning opportunities to improve personal skills. Hours of Work The post-holder must be prepared to work flexible hours, in line with the requirements of the post. This may involve some evening and occasional weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be granted, subject to Sefton CVS s policies and procedures and prior agreement with the line-manager. The post-holder will be expected to adopt a mature and common sense approach to this arrangement. Pension A Group Pension scheme is in operation and Sefton CVS contributes 6% on behalf of all employees who have opted to join the scheme.
