The successful candidate will be required to: Work closely with the Fundraising Unit team and Leadership team to define opportunities for corporates to engage with the organisation. Identify and establish initial relationships with existing and prospective corporate supporters. Build excellent working relationships with Fundraising Unit team and Leadership team. Funding for the organisation is through membership subscriptions and donations, grant funding as Queensland Agent for National Diabetes Services Scheme, Queensland Government and other stakeholders and through sponsors and fundraising. Purpose of Position The Corporate Relations Manager will be an integral part of the fundraising team and will work to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate organisations to help achieve Diabetes Queensland s vision. The incumbent will drive growth through effective corporate giving and sponsorship development strategies so Diabetes Queensland can provide appropriate services to benefit all people in Queensland with diabetes. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer, the Corporate Relations Manager will develop, establish and manage Diabetes Queensland s corporate giving programs and sponsorship programs. The Corporate Relations Manager will be expected to create and steward a significant portfolio of corporate organisations. Duties and Responsibilities The Corporate Relations Manager s duties and responsibilities include: Manage a portfolio of potential and existing corporate supporters from identification to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure corporate information and other needs are met. Secure sales of advertising space and event trade displays, secure sponsorships and partnerships for various activities. Liaise with all areas across Diabetes Queensland, its Leadership and Executive Management Team to target and research prospective corporate supporters, establish relationships for potential sponsorships, partnerships or gifts. Work with the fundraising team to set ambitious and attainable goals, create strategies and campaigns, create, implement and report on strategies, including: o Maintain relations with prospective and confirmed corporate supporters, ensuring deliverables are recorded and met. o Perform data analysis and monitor progress against targets in order to formally report on a regular basis. Any other duties within the staff member s level of competence as required. While the Corporate Relations Manager reports to the Chief Development Officer the incumbent is expected to act autonomously in prioritising tasks, requiring the ability to plan workflows and develop appropriate procedures to balance competing demands. It is expected that the incumbent of the position will give full commitment, support and actively participate in achieving the strategic directions of Diabetes Queensland as the organisation and staff adapt to a new and dynamic operating environment. This includes the flexibility to accept changes and additions to specified duties which will evolve as a result. The incumbent will operate within Diabetes Queensland s policies and guidelines. Key Selection Criteria Essential 1. Tertiary qualification in a related field, or equivalent training and/or knowledge. 2. Minimum four years experience working in a similar role for a charity or member-based not-for-profit organisation. 3. Demonstrated high level corporate partnership success in a charitable or memberbased not-for-profit organisation. 4. Outstanding consultation, collaborative networking, negotiation and problem solving skills and the ability to develop and maintain high quality relationships with various constituencies. 5. Very highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the proven ability to create successful written proposals. 6. Available for travel intra- and inter-state to meet with current and prospective corporate supporters. 7. Possess and maintain a current class C drivers licence.
