Job Description Day to day management of Barnet Football Club s Playing and Coaching Philosophy and Games Programme Overseeing the implementation of the Academy Performance Plan Responsibility for all Academy staff including, Lead Professional Development Phase Coach, Head of Coaching, Youth Development Phase Lead Coach, Foundation Phase Lead Coach and other support staff Overall monitoring, management, development and implementation of the Academy coaching/fixtures programme in line with EPPP requirements and Academy Performance Plan working with Lead Professional Development Phase Coach, Head of Coaching/Youth Development Phase Coach, Foundation Phase Lead Coach and other support staff. Monitoring and management of all Academy performance targets. Responsible for the management of delivery against all EPPP KPI s Ensuring the effective use by all appropriate Academy Staff of the Performance Management Application and the Audit Tool, ensuring all relevant data is recorded thereon to allow effective monitoring of all Academy operations Conducting an annual self-assessment of the Academy in accordance with EPPP rules and requirements Ensuring that all Academy Staff are undertaking relevant continual professional development working with Head of Coaching/Youth Development Phase Lead Coach and Foundation Phase Lead Coach
Lead multi-disciplinary Academy staff meetings Line manage Lead Foundation Phase Coach, Lead Youth Development Phase Coach, Lead Professional Development Phase Coach, Head of Coaching, Education & Welfare Officer and Head of Recruitment. Management and preparation of Academy budgets Strategic lead for the Academy Attend all meetings with governing bodies relating to the Academy including the FA and EFL and local regional bodies as required Ensure clear lines of communication with all stakeholders including line manager, facilities, schools, clubs, players and parents Ensure all policies and procedures are in place across all areas of the Academy including Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, Safeguarding Ensure the recruitment, management and monitoring of a coaching and support staff work force to enable the effective delivery of the Academy Performance Plan/Academy coaching/fixtures programme Prepare and co-ordinate weekly itineraries for full-time staff within the Academy and carry out regular Academy staff appraisals ensuring all staff files are in line with club policy ensuring that all staff have in place regular 1:1 supervision and 6 monthly appraisals which follow clear targets and outcomes Monitor all areas of performance within the programme and implement associated actions and will also contribute to the overall youth development plan Ensure a robust recruitment policy is in place for the recruitment of players into the Academy at all age groups working with the Head of Academy Recruitment Monitor the administration of the Football League games programme to ensure efficient communication with other participating Clubs on a weekly basis to arrange fixtures and details as necessary
Person Specification Skills & Abilities Essential Desirable Ability to plan, deliver, develop and monitor football coaching sessions. Ability to effectively manage player, parent & staff relationships. Ability to work independently and with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who places high value on attention to detail. An ability to adapt quickly be flexible in the face of change and solution orientated. Excellent organisational and time management skills. High levels of customer service; promptly respond to queries, ensure promises are kept and manage expectations. Computer literate (with excellent abilities on Word, Excel and ideally Database knowledge and application). Knowledge & Experience Essential Desirable Experience of working within a management position. Experience of working with and supporting staff and other stakeholders. Experience of co-ordinating activities for a large number of people. Experience of event management; developing schedules, working to deadlines. Experience of working within the football industry. Knowledge of FA regulations in regard to football/academies. Knowledge and experience working within EPPP guidelines and requirements. Knowledge and experience working with the PMA system.
