2 SELLING 40 YEARLING SIMMENTAL BULLS 25 PUREBRED SIMMENTALS 15 SIMANGUS TM 3 REDS 17 HOMO BLACKS A lot has changed at Sandy Acres Simmental over the past year. My first calf crop started arriving late February and it was a remarkably easy calving season thanks to the weather and over 45 years of calving-ease breeding. But then, come May, I faced all the same challenges you did. The rain and mud, followed by the early heat during AI season made me grateful that Leonard, like his father, will always be close by and have a daily hand in this business that he loves. It s been a pleasure to watch those calves grow into the great lineup of bulls we offer this year. It s our goal to meet the needs of all buyers. We have bulls that will produce beautiful, efficient females; bulls that will make growthy feedlot cattle; as well as a powerful lineup of outcross genetics with Fleckvieh influence. As always, we never creep feed our calves. It allows us to observe which cows and calves in our breeding lineup offer power and growth for you, the breeder. We believe that efficient cows will raise strong, healthy calves. Which gives us the confidence to guarantee our product. You ll be able to take your bull home on sale day and it ll hold up and continue to grow into its first breeding season. Videos available now! Thank you for your support and confidence in our breeding program throughout the years. It s been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to meeting your breeding needs as the industry evolves and changes. Sincerely, SALE BROADCAST LIVE ON CATTLEUSA.COM! It is a time when they are easy to manage and their only concern is breeding cows. We have found that yearling bulls that are managed carefully during the second year of their lives not only do well, but they also perform better over time. Below are suggested guidelines for the care of yearling bulls: 1. Upon delivery, keep yearling bulls seperate from older bulls and feed them a maintenance ration of 5-8 pounds per head of grain and free choice hay. Reduce the amount of grain gradually, so that the bulls are on straight hay or grass 2-4 weeks prior to the breeding season. 2. Where possible, try to limit the bulls to days of pasture service for the first year. At this time, remove the bulls and put them in separate pastures with good, quality grass. 3. You will see the benefit of a little added cost and care by probably two or three additional years of service! CREIGHTON LIVESTOCK AUCTION - CREIGHTON, NE 2

He may be polished, or a diamond in the rough but always a gem. Whose devotion to his animals is second only to his love of God and family. Whose gripping affection is tempered only by his inborn sense of the true proportion of things. Who cheerfully braves personal discomfort to make sure his livestock suffer not. To him there is a rhythm in the clatter of the horse s hoof, music in the bleating of the sheep and in the lowing of the herd. His approaching footsteps call forth the affectionate whinny of recognition. His calm, well-modulated voice inspires confidence and wins affection. His coming is greeted with demonstrations of pleasure, and his going with evident disappointment. Who sees something more in cows than the drudgery of milking, more in swine than the grunt and squeal, more in the horse than the patient servant, and more in sheep than the golden hoof. Herdsman, shepherd, groom yes, and more. Broad-minded, big-hearted, and whole-souled: whose life and character linger long after the cordial greeting is stilled and the hearty handshake is but a memory; whose silent influence forever lives. May his kind multiply and replenish the earth. 17 FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16, :00 PM CENTRAL
