1 Dr Fitsum Hagos MA PhD International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia CURRENT APPOINTMENT Researcher Social Science/Economist, present, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT, RESEARCH POSITIONS AND EDUCATION Fitsum Hagos has PhD in Development and Resource Economics from the Agricultural University of Norway (2003). Lecturer and assistant professor in Mekelle University (Ethiopia). RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Fitsum Hagos has expertise on nutrition and poverty analysis, technical efficiency analysis, institutional analysis, adoption and impact of technologies, cost recovery and water pricing of irrigation, microfinance and insuranace markets, value chain analysis, business model for SSI technologies, and ecosystem valuation. He is knowlegeable in application of various microeconometric techniques, impact assessment methodologies (parametric and nonparametric), random treatment control trials (RTCs), etc. SELECTED GRANT Fitsum is winner of the Neville Clarke Award (2001) for outstanding teamwork and winner of the five years distigushed service IWMI award (May 31, 2013).
