10 2- movement of cattle, small ruminants and swine are controled: Ø Within the country : registration, identification, vaccination programs. Ø On borders: pre-import permit, sampling on arrival, registration. Ø Transhumance: with Syrian borders (Syrian control coordination).

11 3- Stakeholders categories are registered at ARD (for cattle, SR, Pork): 4- Incentives: free identification, vaccinations, detergents and disinfectant distribution. 5- Regulation pertaining animal production is described in the Animal Resources Directorate legislation as well as in the food law.

16 Surveillance and Control Progress Strict control on imports. Strict implementation of vaccination programs. Notification. Implication of human resources: (recruitment, training, etc ) Extension program to farmers and producers. Updating legislations

17 Transparency and commitment for FMD Control Notification to OIE. Computerized information system. Storing of FMD data and Lab results. Sharing information with neighboring (Syria and Jordan) and regional countries (OIE Regional Commission for the Middle East), and exporting countries. Risk hot spots identified.

20 First mission of three foreseen to complete the RBSP. The focus of this mission was on zooming out of the veterinary field and to consider the various livestock production systems present in Lebanon. Developing a risk-based strategy plan for FMD control in Lebanon with EuFMD.

21 Two screening sero-surveys to support the assumed absence of FMD virus circula:on 1. To study the occurrence of infection with FMD virus in imported beef cattle during their stay in Lebanese feedlots. 2. To study for indication of FMD virus circulation in small ruminants and large ruminants in the last 12 months.
