Bedford Stem Cell Research Foundation (BSCRF) BSCRF is a biomedical institute conducting stem cell related research for diseases presently considered incurable. Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR) Comprised of 100 nationally recognized patient organizations, universities, scientific societies, and foundations, CAMR s advocacy and education outreach focuses on research toward developing better treatments and cures for individuals with lifethreatening illnesses and disorders. ISSCR: Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation This 2016 guideline developed by an international task force highlights the scientific, clinical, regulatory, ethical, and social issues that should be addressed so that basic stem cell research is responsibly translated into appropriate clinical applications for treating patients. ISSCR: Patient Handbook on Stem Cell Therapies This 2008 handbook offers information to help people evaluate stem cell treatments. Interstate Alliance on Stem Cell Research (IASCR) IASCR s mission is to advance stem cell research (human embryonic, adult, and other) by fostering effective interstate collaboration, by assisting states in developing research programs, and by promoting efficient and responsible use of public funds. Student Society for Stem Cell Research (SSSCR) SSSCR is an international network dedicated to the advancement of scientific research for cures. TriStem The TriStem Group was set up to further research and develop its retrodifferentiation technology which is used to create stem cells from mature adult cells. The main advantage of TriStem's new process over existing methods of harvesting stem cells is that it provides large quantities of stem cells which are by definition DNA matched and, therefore, bypasses the political and ethical issues concerned with therapeutic cloning. World Stem Cell Summit The annual World Stem Cell Summit brings together scientists, patients, advocates, business people, investors, educators, ethicists, policy makers, and government representatives from around the world.
