PhD studies Synthesis of new azathioxanthones with DNA binding activity and cytotoxic activity Doctoral Fellow Pharmaceutical School, Division of Pharmaceutical chemistry, My research was focused on the development of new methodology for the synthesis of new azathioxanthones, imidazothioxanthones and pyrazoloazathioxanthones. Structure elucidation experiments via NMR and IR techniques were also performed by me. The cytotoxic activity of the compounds was studied. Their DNA binding and triple helix DNA binding was also examined. 3.Research program. Title: Synthesis and study of new compounds with antiviral and antioxidant activities Research Fellow 01/ /1994 Member of the main research group Pharmaceutical School, Division of Pharmaceutical chemistry, My research was focused on the development of synthetic methodology for the synthesis of new organic compounds (benzofurans), the structure elucidation by NMR and IR techniques of the newly synthesized compounds and the study of their antiviral and antioxidant actions.

Postdoctoral Fellow 03/ /1997 and 03/ /1998 Member of the main research group Pharmaceutical School, Division of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, My research was focused on the development of synthetic methodology for the synthesis of new indole derivatives bearing thiadiazole and triazole moieties, the structure elucidation by NMR and IR techniques of the above compounds, their lipophilicity properties (Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship) and the study of their antimicrobial activity. Their action on the CNS was also in vivo studied Research program. Title: Synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds Postdoctoral Fellow 07/ /1999 Member of the main research group Pharmaceutical School, Division of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, My research was focused on the development of synthetic methodology for the synthesis of new melatonin antioxidant analogs, the structure elucidation by NMR and IR techniques of the above compounds and the study of their melatoninergic and antioxidant activity.
