10 Designing DRP A DRP provides disaster scenario with the appropriate solution. The solution and the acceptance of the scenario depend on your infrastructure and your business requirements. 12 Business Requirements You need to define two things : RPO (Recovery Point Objective) o How much DATA can the company lose in term of a disaster? RTO (Recovery Time Objective) o How much time could the business can wait before to get the system running again? 2015 Waters Corporation 12

13 Licences Requirements As a good practice, it s recommended to execute the scenarios periodically (once a year) Software updates and/or environment change DATA volume change Maintaining the knowledge For doing the DRP testing, you need a licenced server If no test server available, Waters could supply a licence for the duration of the DRP (Extra cost) 2015 Waters Corporation 13
