2 MOTIVATION n The European manufacturing industry has: n innovative technology n quality processes n robust products n these characteristics have leveraged Europe s industrialization n but n the economic globalization has exposed Europe s industry to new emerging and industrialized manufacturing markets n the recent economic crisis has decelerated the internal boost and investment n Hence, a new ICT infrastructure across Europe needs to be established to re-inforce global competitiveness

6 WHY WORKFLOWS? n Complex products require n development and simulation of mechanics, software and electronics all together n interactive simulation, simulation-in-the-loop and synchronized workflows based on interoperability of data, services and workflows software electronics mechanics

7 AIMS n CloudFlow enables engineers to access services on the Cloud spanning domains such as access use view n CAD, n CAM, n CAE (CFD), n systems and CAD CAM PLM CFD Systems n PLM, and n combines them to integrated workflows n leveraging HPC resources. HPC
