6 Problem Statement As a Buyer of Ethernet Services from a Service Provider I need to Be able to self manage order management through a dynamic web portal as per MEF Cantata defined in MEF 55 so that I can Order, track and manage MEF 51/6.2 compliant services where the service provider has assembled these services from multiple network operators To do this I need to use a dynamic catalog driven portal for order placement and order management, I know that I am successful when (1) I can use the Portal to manage an e2e order to activate process for the components of an ELAN Service (2) I can model the service components in a catalog and use manage with dynamic web portal (3) Multiple network operators can supply components of the solution TM Forum 6

7 Problem Statement As a Service Provider Buyer of Ethernet Services from a Network Operator I need to Operationally Integrate with a Supplier so that I can Programmatically order, track and manage MEF 51/6.2 compliant services they supply me with via TMForum APIs and the V4 extensions collaboratively developed between TMF & MEF To do this I need to use APIs for order placement and order management, I know that I am successful when (1) I can use APIs to manage an e2e order to activate process for the components of an ELAN Service (2) I can model the service components in a catalog and use manage with dynamic APIs (3) Multiple network operators can supply components of the solution TM Forum 7

8 Problem Statement As a Supplier of Wholesale Ethernet Services I need to Operationally Integrate with a Buyer so that I can Supply MEF 51 compliant services via TM Forum APIs To do this I need to use APIs to capture orders, expose order management functions, expose inventory and catalogs I know that I am successful when (1) I can model the service components in a catalog and support buyer self-service through dynamic APIs. (2) When I can expose the service templates as JSON schema s via direct URLs so my buyers can order services from my catalog without sophisticated catalog integration (3) I can successfully fulfil an order and instantiate inventory which is correct to MEF specifications TM Forum 8

9 Problem Statement - Billing As a Supplier of Wholesale Ethernet Services I need to quickly provide and update individually negotiated billing for new and existing buyers. So that I can provide agile responses to market opportunities. To do this I need to configure and automate billing for each buyer, independently of fulfillment. I know that I am successful when I can develop responsive commercials for an existing product, without sacrificing automation TM Forum 9
