Teamcenter Service Pack delivers enhanced applications throughout the portfolio that can help you improve productivity and efficiency. Start with PLM Electronics design and data management New electronics design and data management capabilities in Teamcenter provide integration with the Xpedition Enterprise software for printed circuit board (PCB) design from Mentor Graphics. The integration uses the Enterprise Data exchange (EDX) standard data format, which facilitates sharing across the enterprise and enables Teamcenter customers to manage PCB design lifecycles, libraries and manufacturing data in the context of the whole product. Simulation process management New capabilities for computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation data and processes in Service Pack focus on streamlining setup and simulation processes for the CAE analysts. In the Create Simulation dialog, you can create simulation objects (model or analysis) in context and re-use any existing simulation objects such as the CAE geometry or model. As part of creating the simulation object in context the system automatically captures the pedigree (revision rule, variants and effectivity) of the product or model. You can use style sheets to display CAE-specific attributes in Active Workspace. This capability makes it much easier for CAE analysts to understand and verify that they are working with the intended model and data. With Active Workspace, you can now execute simulation tools on the Teamcenter server or on remote machines, and configure the system to automatically import and export the inputs and outputs. Notifications confirm both the launch and completion of the simulation. With Teamcenter it is easier to manage all of the simulation jobs and their progress, whether they are local, on a server or on a remote machine. You can access the simulation monitor at any time from the home page. You can clear a job from the database, refresh the display, delete or terminate a job, and open the directory corresponding to the selected local simulation run.

2 What s new in Teamcenter Service Pack TEAMCENTER BOM management The Service Pack delivers Active Workspace enhancements that enable users to interact more efficiently with the Bill of Materials (BOM). With property filtering, users can easily focus their attention on content of interest. A replace operation has also been introduced in Active Workspace to simplifying structure editing. Enhancements to the product configurator include effectivity and revision control for configurator items that enable you to manage and coordinate their evolution. To simplify management of and interaction with configurator items, you can specify option availability across multiple products in a single view, and also leverage architectures to simplify the organization of configurator data. For fourth-generation design (4GD), new accountability checks and compare tools enable users to easily identify changes between different products and versions. PLM process execution Process execution enhancements in Teamcenter include new predefined, out-of-the box reports for change management that provide a quick view of changes in various stages for a specified date range. In addition, you can now filter the types of changes that can be created based on the item selected to simplify the user experience and help you create the appropriate change item. Extend the value Requirements management Teamcenter makes it easier to identify the content differences in requirements as they evolve or are changed. Using Active Workspace and the Microsoft Word compare utility to identify differences in requirements, you can select, compare and highlight the differences between different requirements, versions of the same requirement or requirement specifications. Service lifecycle management Enhancements in Service Pack for service lifecycle management enable technicians or assemblers working with the physical product to capture and manage information using Active Workspace that will serve as the accurate build record for the product. Supplier integration For ease of deployment, Service Pack enhances Teamcenter Supplier Collaboration Foundation (SCF) multitenancy capabilities. SCF now maps supplier Teamcenter user IDs to vendor management IDs, enabling suppliers to collaborate as internal users on some projects and external users on others. Search capabilities for suppliers using vendor IDs has also been enhanced. For direct materials sourcing, Teamcenter enables more flexibility in respondent handling, and enables users to revise sourcing events to bring respondents forward into a new revision, close events from Teamcenter and initiate sourcing processes from change workflows. New previews of exchange packages before import to Teamcenter enable validation of contents and verification of item recipients. Transform your business Environmental compliance and product sustainability Making sure you are compliant with regulations around environmental and social initiatives has never been easier with Teamcenter substance compliance on Active Workspace. Compliance officers can easily work in Teamcenter to find and report on compliancerelated information. Rich search and reporting capabilities are now available, as well as support for review and approval of supplier declarations, dashboard views of materials and compliance results, grading for compliance specific to environmental and social initiatives, previews of compliance results when reviewing supplier material declarations and exemption processing that can include supplierprovided exemptions. Systems engineering For systems engineering, Teamcenter includes several enhancements for analysis requests, including better visibility of the attributes and values associated with the request. You can now view and edit attributes in a table, display their historical values and set which attributes are to be used for input/output to the analysis request. To improve communication between designers and simulation engineers, Teamcenter now allows cross-probing of attributes between the design space and LMS Imagine.Lab Systems Synthesis. Simulation results are returned directly to the analysis request to remove any ambiguity in the results of the request. Several enhancements to the relations browser are designed to help engineers better understand which parts of the design or requirements will be impacted when changes are proposed. You can now filter or select the types of relationships that are of most interest to help avoid unexpected costs or quality issues.

3 Explore the PLM platform Active Workspace Active Workspace version 3.1 is available for users of Teamcenter Enhancements to Active Workspace 3.1 focus on usability, productivity and reducing information overload. For streamlined user interaction, Active Workspace now supports pervasive drag-and-drop; you can use it to create relationships between objects, drag and drop objects across multiple browsers and upload or download files by dragging and dropping between the browser and your desktop. Single and bulk editing of search results can be done directly in the table display. In addition, you can now easily change passwords from the user profile page and access online documentation and getting started videos in the Global Technical Access Center (GTAC) from new tiles on the home page. For improved consistency and usability, Active Workspace now preserves column configuration preferences for each user. When you have a lot of filter categories to narrow down your search results, you can now dynamically use strings or date ranges to find the filter category that you want to use. While working in Microsoft Office applications, users can now perform key tasks such as creating Teamcenter objects and updating properties without launching a separate application. Active Workspace users can easily access reports and dashboards from Teamcenter reporting and analytics and the report builder. Users can define and create new reports with custom layout and chart styles, visually drill-down through the report, leverage more than 100 predefined reports, and display the reports that are relevant to a specific object in Active Workspace. For added security, Teamcenter now supports Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authentication to control network traffic and enable external users to securely access and collaborate on files in Teamcenter.
