3 Objective: The purpose of this document is to provide a walk through of Live Office. After completing this guide the audience will be able to insert data into MS Office products via Live Office. This guide may be used as a base for customer facing presentations. SAP 2008, Page 3

4 What is Live Office? Live Office software integrates business intelligence (BI) within the Microsoft Office environment. Embed trusted, refreshable data within documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and share them with your coworkers. 6 Step 1) After Live Office has been installed, launch PowerPoint. Step 2) From the menu, click Live Office, Insert & Crystal Reports content. Step 3) Provide the appropriate, user, password, Live Office URL, system and authentication method. Note: The Live Office URL is SAP 2008, Page 6

7 Step 4) Navigate the folder structure and select World Sales Report. Then click Next -> Step 5) Select the partsof the report you wish to use, in this example select the pie chart and click Next ->. SAP 2008, Page 7

8 Step 6) If desired, enter in a name for the Live Office object selected previously, then click Next ->. Step 7) Place and format the object as desired. SAP 2008, Page 8

9 Step 8) Save and close Power Point. Note: By selecting the object and clicking Live Office & Refresh from the menu, you can pull in live data. Step 9) Open Excel and click Live Office, Insert & Crystal Reports content. SAP 2008, Page 9

10 Step 10) Provide the appropriate, user, password, Live Office URL, system and authentication method. Note: The Live Office URL is Step 11) Navigate the folder structure and select World Sales Report. Then click Next ->. SAP 2008, Page 10

11 Step 12) Select Switch to Fields, then move Country and Sum of Last Year Sales fields to the right. Then click Next ->. Step 13) Filter the data so that Country is only one of Brazil, Canada, Mexico & USA. Then click Next ->. SAP 2008, Page 11

12 Step 14) Give the Live Office object a name if desired, then click Finish. Note: You may simply pull in live data, by selecting the object and clicking refresh from the Live Office menu. Step 15) Save the spreadsheet as it will be used in another workshop, then exit. SAP 2008, Page 12
