28 CONCLUSION For areas without cellular coverage, satellite telemetry technology is the logical choice since it does not require large investments in infrastructure, has a low cost of installation and it is virtually maintenance free. For areas with coverage or with bad coverage, the cellular-satellite hybrid solution can add value, increasing reliability and availability in the transmission of utility information. When choosing a satellite solution, it is important to analyze the actual application requirements. In many cases, a solution designed for telemetry applications is the best solution.
