All proposers are subject to the provisions of this Addendum. 2 ADDENDUM No. 4 Sealed Bid # New Improvements to Powder Springs Park Cobb County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department A. Clarification General Date: July 11, Sports Lighting Poles shown on the plans and in the revised specifications (see Paragraph B below) shall be new and shall be provided and installed by the contractor. Eliminate any reference to reusing existing sports lighting poles. Existing sports lighting poles shall be removed from the project by others. B. Clarifications Project Manual 1. Delete SECTION SPORTS LIGHTING in its entirety and replace it with attached SECTION SPORTS LIGHTING. C. Clarifications - Drawings 1. Delete sheets C-4 and C-6 in their entirety and replace with revised attached drawings C-4 and C-6. Foul netting poles shall be removed, stored, protected and reinstalled. See attached revised sheet C-4 for location of existing foul netting poles and revised sheet C-6 for new location of poles. A total of ten poles shall be removed, stored, protected and reinstalled by the contractor. Coordinate precise location of poles with Owner prior to installation. Foul pole netting shall be removed and replaced with new netting. New netting shall extend to same height as existing and shall be 1 ½ x 1 ½ square grid manufactured by BSN Sports, , or approved equal. Refer to attached revised sheet C-4. Eleven existing decorative lighting poles are noted as follows: REMOVE, STORE AND REINSTALL AT NEW LOCATION (SEE ELECTRICAL PLAN FOR DETAILS). One existing pole and fixture is not shown and it is located near the intersection of the sidewalk at the ball fields and the handicap parking. All of these poles are decorative light poles. See attached photos. Eleven of the poles have a top mounted acorn fixture and one has the side mounted fixture with an arm. The condition of the poles shall be documented by the contractor prior to relocation. Refer to attached revised sheet C-4. The existing field light poles are shown to be removed. These poles will be removed by others. 2. Refer to attached revised sheet E2.0. 2

3 This sheet shows the new location of ten of the decorative light poles and fixtures. Twelve poles and fixtures shall be relocated. The two not shown on this drawing will be located in the hub area near other decorative fixtures. The exact location of these poles and fixtures shall be verified in the field with the Owner prior to installation. Provide new concrete pole bases, anchor bolts and reinforcing for the poles. For bidding purposes assume a three feet deep round footing with a standard rebar cage and appropriate anchor bolts. The existing electrical service feeding existing box EB near field five is shown as overhead. The existing service is underground and shall remain underground. 3

4 SECTION SPORTS LIGHTING PART 1- GENERAL 1.1 SCOPE: a. Work covered by this section of the specifications shall conform to the contract documents, engineering plans as well as state and local codes. The latest edition of the state of Georgia Building Code which includes the latest edition of the National Electrical Code is hereby made a part of this specification. Code requirements shall take precedence over these specifications where the Code requirements exceed that of the specifications. However, the Specifications shall be followed where they exceed Code requirements. b. Provide all material, labor, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to install complete electrical power and lighting system described herein and on the electrical contract drawings. Supply all materials, fittings and hardware necessary for complete operating systems within the obvious intent of the drawings. No attempt has been made to detail of list each and every item of material. The Electrical Contractor shall read the entire project drawings and specifications and have a thorough knowledge of building construction, structural restrictions to electrical contract work and to assure that no reference anywhere in the project drawings and specifications to work by the Electrical Contractor is overlooked. All material shall be new of equivalent or better quality than that specified. Specific names and catalog numbers used herein are to establish the item function, arrangement and quality. All materials shall be UL listed and labeled for the particular application used. c. This specification defines the performance and design standards for the project. The manufacturer / contractor shall supply lighting equipment to meet or exceed these specifications. 2. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 TABLE OF LIGHTING FIXTURE PRODUCTS- Quantity (16) 60 Mounting Height; 70 Overall Length Full Length Concrete Poles with (79) GE Powerspot Integral Ballast Fixtures including 1500 watt metal halide lamps. Subject to compliance with the specifications and approval by the Owner, equal products by Qualite Sports Lighting or Hubble Lighting may be incorporated. Poles A1, A2, A3, A5, A6, A7, A8, B1, B2, B3, B6, B7, C1, C2, C3, and C4. Quantity (3) 60 Mounting Height; 72 Overall Length Full Length Concrete Poles with (37) GE Powerspot Integral Ballast Fixtures including 1500 watt metal halide lamps. Subject to compliance with the specifications and approval by the Owner, equal products by Qualite Sports Lighting or Hubble Lighting may be incorporated. Common Shared Poles B4/B4A, A4/A4A, and B5/B5A. All Concrete poles to include cross arms and all applicable accessories for a complete installation. 2.2 LIGHTING PERFORMANCE The purpose of these specifications is to define the performance and design standards for the lighting of this project. The manufacturer shall supply lighting equipment and computer generated point by point analysis that meets or exceeds the following: A. Performance Criteria 1. The lamp shall be a 1500 watt metal halide lamp and shall meet ANSI code M48 and be a 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

5 GE MVR1500/U/Sports or Owner approved equal. Replacement lamps must be must be readily available for purchase. Lamps shall have Initial Vertical Lumens of 170, All computer generated point-by-point light scans shall be based on an approved lamp manufacturer s published initial lumen output based (after 100 hours burn in). The lamp manufacturer s 1500 watt lamp specification sheet must be provided 3. A tilt factor of 1.0 shall not be acceptable for any type of lamp, and all computer generated pointby-points shall be calculated based on each individual optical unit s actual tilt and required tilt factor for the degree variance from the lamp measured and published operating position. 4. The specified light levels shall be derived by applying Light Loss Factors to the Initial and Maintained lighting designs in the following manner (Per IESNA Recommended Practice for Sports & Recreation Area Lighting RP-6-01). ). Manufacturers that provide constant light for approval must provide scans that are equal to the fixture count specified in this specification to be considered. 5. Initial Light Levels are to be based on foot-candles as calculated from the photometric report of the luminaire (per the lamp manufacturer s 100 hour lamp lumens) x Ballast Factor x Voltage Factor x Ambient Temperature Factor x Lamp Tilt Factor. ). Manufacturers that provide constant light for approval must provide scans that are equal to the initial foot-candles to even be considered.. Area of Lighting Baseball Infield Baseball Outfield Average Entire Track 62.5 foot-candles 37.5 foot-candles 6. Target (or Maintained) Light levels are based on Initial Light Levels multiplied by the Recoverable Light Loss Factor (LLF) of Recoverable LLF = LLD x LDD =.80 Target Light Levels shall meet or exceed the following. The manufacturer guarantees initial field light intensity levels and uniformity ratios after initial start-up or within the first One Hundred (100) hours of operation (Per IES and Lamp Manufacturer Initial Lumen Output Ratings). Light level readings shall be taken at the grid point locations as detailed in the point by point analysis specification at 3 above field grade. 8. If manufacturer uses purchased ballast in their fixture/enclosure, the manufacturer must apply the appropriate ballast factor (per ballast manufacturer s data) in their lighting calculation to account for wattage loses of ballast operating hot in the fixture/enclosure. A ballast factor of 1.0 shall not be allowed, unless the ballast and fixture/enclosure are from the same manufacturer and have been rated and tested to operate the lamp at its design center hot in the fixture/enclosure. B. Performance Criteria - Light Uniformity: In order to ensure the optimal playability and visual appearance of the field, all lighting designs shall meet the following: 1. Maximum to Minimum Uniformity Ratio - The uniformity of the playing field shall be measured by comparing the maximum reading to the minimum reading. Coefficient of Variance (CV): The ratio of the standard deviation for all of the light level readings to the mean light level for the defined set of grid points shall not exceed the following: Area of Lighting Coefficient of Variance Baseball Fields POINT BY POINT ANALYSIS A. Computer Models - Test Stations Submitted computer models depicting the measurements of light shall be generated on a grid of specified number of points covering a stated area on an equally spaced grid. See the chart below for the exact specifications of points, areas and grid spacing for each field: Area of Lighting Target Points Size of Area Grid Spacing Baseball Fields 30 X 30 Grid Points 345 X X Bidder shall submit two (2) different models, one depicting initial design and the second depicting light levels with described maintenance factor applied. B. Meter Orientation 1. Horizontal foot-candles - models shall represent readings taken with the meter test cell positioned horizontal 36 inches above grade. 2. Maximum Vertical foot-candles - models shall represent readings taken with the test cell positioned 36 inches above grade and aimed towards the center of the field at 30 intervals. 2.4 INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION A. Test and Measurement Procedures 1. Testing of the facility shall be done based at the test points as described in section All testing will be done with entire facility illuminated and shall be done after 100 hours of lighting systems use (per IES recommended practice) to allow the lamps to depreciate to their stated initial lumen output per manufacturer s lamp technical data sheet. 3. The manufacturer will be required to grid the complete field(s) based on the computer models submitted requirements and take readings at each grid point. The manufacturers will be required to utilize T-10 Minolta Calibrated Light Meter. 4. For final approval of the project the manufacturer shall provide a final report from the test results that shall provide the following items: 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

7 2.5 SPORTS LIGHTING SYSTEM a. Identification of number and location of the test stations, that shall agree in number and location with description provided in 2.3. b. Actual horizontal foot-candle readings taken at each lest station. The sports lighting system shall be a GE Sports Lighting System, or Owner approved equal, with full length direct burial concrete poles with galvanized cross arms and all applicable accessories. Maintenance platforms and pole steps are not required. Subject to compliance with the specifications, equal products approved by the Owner by Qualite Sports Lighting or Hubble Lighting may be incorporated. A. General Description The Sports Lighting System shall consist of the listed equipment features below, 1. Direct Burial Concrete Poles. Poles to be rated for Wind Load of 90 MPH and applied three second gust factor. 2. Hot-dip galvanized cross arms. 3. Integral Fixture consisting of die-cast aluminum ballast assembly, lamp, lamp socket, reflector, lens, lamp support, reinforcing retaining ring. 2.6 LUMINAIRE STRUCTURE A. Factory Construction: The integral luminaire shall be factory assembled as two primary components Ballast Assembly and Optical Assembly. B. Single Photometric Unit: Each fixture shall be attached to the platform in such a way that it s aiming position has been determined relative to all other fixtures on the pole so that all luminaires on the assembly are oriented to form a single photometric unit. C. Lamps: Lamps shall be a 1500 watt metal halide and shall meet ANSI designation M BU. The lamps shall be GE MVR1500/U/Sports or Owner approved equal. See paragraph 2. Above. D. Reflector and Lamp Supports: The reflector shall be fastened to the ballast assembly with a heat resistance reinforcing retaining ring which centers and stabilizes the lamp in the reflector and provides heat shield to protect the lamp socket from heat. E. Lens: A hinged and removable lens of impact and thermal resistant glass with silicone gasket shall be centered in zinc rich painted galvanized steel lens rim and attached to the reflector with a minimum four (4) stainless steel clamps. F. Aiming: The manufacturer shall provide all aiming photometrics to the electrical contractor for field aiming of the lights. G. Aiming Alignment: Luminaire assembly shall be provided from the factory to the job site as a unit which may be universally oriented in a manner that the entire luminaire assembly can be field aimed as a single unit. H. Materials and Coatings: All steel components shall be hot dip galvanized to the most current ASTM A- 123 standards. High purity reflector grade aluminum shall be an anodized and coated with a thin layer of heatcured glass that is chemically bonded to the reflector for corrosion protection, greater smoothness, better reflectivity and ease of cleaning. All non-current carrying fasteners, hinges, and latches shall be stainless steel and shall be cadmium plated or coated with thermoset epoxy type organic coatings such as Empigard to prevent galvanic interaction. 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

8 I. Platform Welding: sections for the luminaire assembly shall be welded before galvanizing. Any additional fasteners used for the attachment of accessories to the platform shall be hot-dipped galvanized. 2.7 SAFETY SPECIAL CONDITIONS A. UL Listing: There shall be provided a UL listing for all electrical components from its connection to the feeder conductors, to its completion at the lamp socket including all connections. This listing shall be based upon UL testing and evaluation of the compatibility of the enclosures and the components for use in combination in this application in addition to the individual components being UL listed or recognized. 1. Bidder shall supply, in advance of bid, a page summarizing the Underwriters laboratory listing numbers covering the entire luminaire assembly being bid for the owner's review and retention. B. Codes - Sports Lighting Structure shall meet National Electrical Code. 2.8 SPUN-CASE PRE-STRESSED CONCRETE FLOODLIGHTING POLES A. SCOPE: 1. The following covers design, fabrication and installation of pre-stressed concrete flood lighting structures to support lighting fixtures on galvanized platforms.. 2. Quality Standards: The minimum acceptable standards to be used as a basis for these specifications are those of StressCrete of Northport, Alabama. B. DESIGN: 1. Poles shall be designed and constructed so that all wiring and grounding facilities are concealed within the pole. All hand-holes, wire inlets/ outlets, thru-bolt holes and ground wire shall be cast into the pole during the manufacturing process. (It is intended that no field drilling of the poles will be required.) 2. Poles shall be designed considering the application of both dead load and wind load. The moment at any point along the length of the pole is to be the sum of moments resulting from dead loads and forces from wind loads. The wind force is to be computed by multiplying the specified wind pressure by the effective projected area (EPA) of each individual component involved. 3. Poles shall be designed to withstand 90 mph 2001 AASHTO wind design requirements. 4. Poles shall be designed such that the deflection does not exceed 1.0% of the free height of the pole at its maximum EPA under a wind loading equivalent to 1/2 the designated ultimate wind speed, including a 3 sec. gust. 5. The natural frequency of the pole shall be limited to 0.8 cycles/sec. The manufacturer shall provide calculations proving the above requirements. 6. Stress in concrete due to pre-stressing shall be within the following limits: fpc<800 psi (5.5 mpa) fpc< 0.6 fc. Loss of pre-stress shall be calculated using AASHTO methods.c. C. MATERIALS: 1. The concrete mix shall be designed to achieve a minimum 28-day compressive strength of 9,500 psi. Minimum strength before transfer of pre-stress is 4500 psi. Cement shall conform with ASTM-C150. 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

9 Maximum size aggregate may be 3/4 inch (19mm) or 3/4 of the clear spacing between main reinforcing steel and surface of pole. Any water reducers, retarders, or accelerating admixtures shall conform to ASTM-C494. Water shall be free from foreign materials in amounts harmful to concrete and embedded steel. (a) (b) (c) Use of Calcium Chloride, other salts or materials releasing chloride is prohibited. Use of materials causing pyrite staining or effervescence due to sulfate if prohibited. The total content of chloride ions present in the finished concrete mix shall not exceed 0.40 lb. Per cubic yard (or approximately 100 ppm). 2. Prestressing Steel - Prestressing steel reinforcement shall conform to uncoated 7 - wire, 270-ksi low relaxation strand per ASTM-A416, stressed to 70% of ultimate capacity. 3. Spiral Reinforcement - Steel spiral reinforcement shall conform to the requirements of ASTM-A82 and shall not be less than inch diameter. The pitch of the spiral steel shall not be greater than 5 inches or the radius of the pole, whichever is less; except that, for a distance of two feet at the tip and butt ends, the pitch shall not exceed 2 inches. 4. Hardware - All structural steel shall conform to ASTM-A36 and be Hot-Dip Galvanized in accordance with ASTM-A123. Zinc alloy AC41A for inserts, hand-hole frames and covers, shall conform to ASTM-B240. Inserts shall be non-corrosive and weather-proof. All bolts, nuts, washers and other fasteners must be either stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized per ASTM-A153. D. FABRICATION: 1. All manufacturing tolerances, details of reinforcement and finishes shall be in accordance with "GUIDE SPECIFICATION FOR PRE-STRESSED CONCRETE POLES", as published in the May-June, 1982, issue of the JOURNAL of the PRE-STRESSED CONCRETE INSTITUTE. 2. All poles must be pre-stressed and manufactured by the centrifugal spinning process. The purpose of this requirement is to insure a minimum 28 day compressive strength of 9,500 psi, and to provide the densest possible surface finish. 3. Forms shall be designed to provide a continuous taper of 0.180" per foot of length and provide a minimum of 3/4" concrete cover over all reinforcing steel, excluding spirals. 4. Poles shall have a smooth natural form finish, soft gray in color. 5. Poles must be manufactured within the United States. The manufacturer shall have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the design and production of centrifugally spun concrete poles. 6. Poles shall be round in cross section and have a hollow center. 7. Pole shall be of single piece construction. 8. Holes, if required, shall be accurately located in size of uniform diameter and perpendicular to the pole axis unless otherwise indicated. 9. Embedded items shall be accurately set in molds and secured to prevent movement during concrete placing and the spinning process. 10. After the pole is removed from the form, all small cavities caused by air bubbles, honey comb spots or other small voids shall be cleaned, saturated with water and then carefully pointed with mortar. A small cavity is defined as exceeding 1/2" but less than 3/4". Larger cavities not exceeding 2" shall be repaired 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

10 by opening the cavity sides with a mechanical grinder, cleaning thoroughly and patching with a fast set cement. 11. Poles shall be capped at the tip. 12. An aluminum nameplate shall be cast into the wall of the pole approximately 5 feet above ground line identifying the name of the manufacturer, job identification or order number, overall length and approximate weight. E. GENERAL: Each pole shall include the following: 1. Welded one-piece galvanized steel cross arms attached to the poles designed to properly support the required number of light fixtures on minimum vertical spacing of 36"c/c, and a minimum horizontal spacing of 28"c/c.. Cross arms shall include individual mounting provisions for each floodlight, with all mounting holes drilled prior to galvanizing. All cross arms including attaching hardware, must be certified as meeting the structural design requirements shown in the "DESIGN" section of these specifications. It is desirable that cross arms be designed and supplied by the pole manufacturer so that compatibility is insured. In the event that poles and cross arms are supplied from different sources, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to provide certification from each of the sources involved, and to guarantee the compatibility of all components. 2. #6 stranded copper wire cast into pole and attached to pre-stressing steel by appropriate connectors. Wire to be terminated at top (cross arm level) and bottom (approximately 12" below grade) in a copper tank ground which provides a 1/2" tapped insert at the pole top for attachment to lightning rod at top of pole and ground rod below grade. 3. Lightning Rod, Thompson # 572 (1/2" x 24") or approved equal attached at the top of the pole. Contractor is to provide adequate bonding to cross arm below to insure that all components at the top of pole are grounded. 4. A 4" x 10" (minimum) conduit entrance opening centered 18" below grade. 5. A 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" (minimum) polymer hand-hole frame with flush polymer cover centered 24" above grade. 6. A 2 1/2" x 8" (minimum) polymer hand-hole frame with flush polymer cover located at platform level - - for use during installation and maintenance of electrical wiring. 7. A 1 1/2" coupling wire inlet/outlet opposite hand-hole at platform level. 8. Internal wire support located directly above the top wire inlet/outlet and accessible from hand-hole. 9. Provisions for attaching and wiring any disconnect switches or other electrical components not covered above, but required to complete the project. F. QUALITY CONTROL 1. Product meets or exceeds customer specifications. 2. Testing shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) - MNL /10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

11 3. Test for compressive strength of concrete cylindrical test specimens shall comply with ASTM C Certified mill tests of the mechanical properties of cement and steel shall be made available upon request. G. HANDLING AND ERECTION 1. Transportation, site handling and erection shall be performed with acceptable equipment and methods, and by qualified personnel. A qualified factory representative shall be at the jobsite during the initial framing and installation procedures to ensure that all components are installed using the proper hardware and are being handled in a manner that will not damage components. 2. Prior to unloading pole, shop drawings shall be reviewed to identify proper pick-up points for unloading, storage and erection procedures. A thru hole shall be provided at proper pick-up point to facilitate pole erection. 3. Internal wiring may be installed while pole is in horizontal position on the ground. If cross arm is to be attached prior to erection, the pole tip must be elevated and the pole supported uniformly over the entire length to prevent undesirable deflection. G. SHOP DRAWINGS AND CERTIFICATIONS 1. The contractor shall submit Design Drawings for approval purposes. These drawings shall indicate the dimensions and shape of all individual structural and electrical features, their relative location on each different type structure and their relationship with each other. Drawings shall be made as close to scale as possible and with details large enough to be self-explanatory. H. WARRANTY 1. Manufacturer must warrant the concrete pole to be free of engineering, material, and manufacturing defects for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase. Warranty on all other components and accessories must be for a period of at least 5 years SAFETY SPECIAL CONDITIONS A. UL Listing: There shall be provided a UL listing for all electrical components from its connection to the feeder conductors, to its completion at the lamp socket including all connections. This listing shall be based upon UL testing and evaluation of the compatibility of the enclosures and the components for use in combination in this application in addition to the individual components being UL listed or recognized. 1. Bidder shall supply the Underwriters laboratory listing numbers covering the entire luminaire assembly and pole lighting structure being bid for the owner's review and retention. Failure to meet the requirements of the specifications shall result in rejection of the submittal. B. Codes - Sports Lighting Structure shall meet National Electrical Code WARRANTY 5 Year Warranty A. Assurance Manufacturer warrants the sports lighting system (excluding fuses and lamps) to be free from defects as related to materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of delivery. 1. Manufacturer agrees to provide materials for a period of 5 years to replace defective ballasts. Labor to be included on the whole sports lighting project for one year by the electrical contractor. 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

12 2.12 INSTALLATION 2. Lamps Lamps are warranted not to fail for two years from the date of delivery. Lamps which fail during the first year will be replaced at no charge per the manufacturer s warranty guidelines. 3. Lamps which fail during the second year of the warranty period will be replaced by the manufacturer, but installation will be the owner s responsibility. Lamps damaged by physical trauma or electrical surges are not covered by this warranty. 4. The lamp checklist, which accompanies the lamp shipments should be completed and returned to the address noted, prior to validation of this warranty. 5. Limitations The following are not covered by this warranty: a. Fuses b. Damage from weather condition events such as lightning, hail, or excessive wind from tornadoes or hurricanes; c. Improper installation, vandalism, or abuse; d. Unauthorized repairs or alterations. A. Backfill: The pole base shall be installed in an excavation as prescribed by the local and state building code standards for foundation design. Backfill of pole/base shall be according to soil/foundation requirements and per the recommendation of StressCrete Concrete Pole Structural Engineer. B. Assembly: The pole to be properly plumbed and aligned per GE Lighting Design Pole Locations. C. Electrical Wiring: The pole and the luminaires shall be designed such that all wiring remains underground before entering the base of the pole and that no wiring shall be exposed to sun or weather as it transitions through the pole and to the ballast and on to each lamp. D. Field Connections: All field electrical connections on the pole shall be achieved by UL listed plug-in or lug method of attachment from the load side of the breaker/disconnect to the lamp socket. The feeder and grounding conductors from the service entrance to the pole shall be connected at the pole by landing lugs. E. The entire system is to be installed in accordance with the manufacturer s written instructions. F. Transportation, site handling and erection shall be performed with acceptable equipment and methods, and by qualified personnel. A qualified factory representative shall be at the jobsite during the initial framing and installation procedures to ensure that all components are installed using the proper hardware and are being handled in a manner that will not damage components. G. Prior to unloading pole, shop drawings shall be reviewed to identify proper pick-up points for unloading, storage and erection procedures. A thru hole shall be provided at proper pick-up point to facilitate pole erection. H. Internal wiring may be installed while pole is in horizontal position on the ground. If platform is to be attached prior to erection, the pole tip must be elevated and the pole supported uniformly over the entire length to prevent undesirable deflection. I. Assembly: The pole to be properly plumbed and aligned per lighting design pole locations. J. Electrical Wiring: The pole and the luminaires shall be designed such that all wiring remains underground before entering the base of the pole and that no wiring shall be exposed to sun or weather as it transitions through the pole and to the ballast and on to each lamp. The installing contractor shall be responsible for providing the equipment and installation of a complete and. operational system. The electrical contractor shall coordinate the voltage and phase of the service before any equipment is installed b. The sports lighting electrical system equipment shall include: 1. Conductors and conduit. 2. Conductors and conduit for the feeders and control circuits shall meet the requirements of these specifications. 3. Grounding conductors and grounding methods for the following: (a) (b) The lighting contactor enclosure per specifications. Each electrical component enclosure mounted on the lighting poles. (Equipment Grounding System) (per NEC or local codes) 2.14 TRENCHING (c) Lightning Protection for individual poles as follows (per NFPA 780): A 3/4 x 10 copper grounding rod buried vertically in undisturbed earth. The bottom tip of the grounding rod should reach a minimum of 12 below grade. A copper grounding conductor shall be cadwelded to the top of the copper grounding rod and extend and connect to the grounding lug located inside the handhole of the pole. Wiring shall be copper and shall be installed in PVC Schedule 40 conduit and shall be installed per specifications. Conduit elbows shall be rigid conduit. a. The installing contractor shall be responsible for locating all underground utilities. Contractor is responsible for confirming locations as needed to complete projects. b. Trenching depth and width shall be adequate to install appropriately sized conduit and to meet local and National Electrical Codes and specifications. c. Trenches shall be back-filled with excavated soil and compacted to approximately the same density of the surrounding soil to minimize settlement. Trenches shall be seeded and mulched with straw after settlement. d. No trench line or feeder circuit shall cross the playing area SUBMITTAL INFORMATION a. Submit catalog cutsheets of fixtures, shop drawings on panel boards and any other descriptive materials requested. b. Provide electrical plans, detailing all of the equipment described above, as well as proposed locations for equipment placement, prior to commencing work. 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING

14 c. Provide a list of all equipment and information being submitted. List the name of the supplier s local representative and phone number MANUFACTURER'S REPRESENTATIVE ON SITE VISIT Manufacturer shall provide a qualified, factory trained, representative on-site after the completion of the project installation. The manufacturer shall make any necessary adjustments to the aiming in order to ensure that the specified lighting performance is met. This service is to be provided free of charge, provided the lighting equipment was installed in accordance with the manufacturer's design and specifications DELIVERY REQUIREMENT A. The equipment must be on-site 6-8 weeks from the receipt of signed purchase order, acceptance of order and receipt of complete order information ALTERNATE PRODUCT SUBMITTAL DATA TO BE PROVIDED : A. Consideration of alternate products will be after award of the contract. Failure to provide any of the following information with the alternate product submittals will be grounds for rejection of the alternate product. Each item listed below shall be provided in the form of clear and concise statements and/or plans and drawings which can be easily read and clearly interpreted. Each item shall also be clearly lettered to correspond with the following list. All items shall be assembled in the order indicated and secured or bound in a neat and orderly fashion for easy use and reference: 1. Lighting layout design showing luminaire mounting heights, aiming focus points, reflector types, number of luminaires per pole and kilowatt consumption for initial and maintained designs per fixture counts set forth and initial foot-candles per this specification. 2. A drawing of the Sports Lighting Structure meeting or exceeding specified criteria. 3. Computer generated point-by-point analysis of field light values as set forth in accordance with lighting performance specifications. 4 Complete photometric reports produced by an independent testing laboratory for each type of reflector to be utilized to achieve performance criteria. 5. Computer generated spill/glare analysis in accordance with lighting performance specifications. 6. Written statements of model number and manufacturer for all equipment bid. 7. Written warranty from the manufacturer covering entire structure as outlined in specifications. 8. Certified engineer shall verify and stamp wind load tests of luminaire assembly to meet or exceed structural strength as described in specifications. Please note, EPA test does not constitute misalignment verification. 9. UL Test Number 10. Manufacturer shall submit a letter guaranteeing that foot-candle levels and uniformity as specified will be met. In addition, manufacturer s remedy to deficiencies will be noted. 11. There shall be provided by the manufacturer sufficient data and calculations to show that the specified criteria will be met, including a foundation design certified by a professional engineer. 7/10/2014 SPORTS LIGHTING
