2 Paint systems for Accoya and Medite Tricoya Extreme The durability of the water-based paint systems from Drywood Coatings stems from their development in the sixties. A unique combination of binding agents gave them an extremely long maintenance interval. The experience gained with the first 'hybrid paint systems' (a combination of an acrylic dispersion and alkyd resin dissolved in water) is now being used in the current products. Accoya and Medite Tricoya Extreme both form a stable base which doesn't deform. This further extends the useful life of our water-based acrylic products. Acrylics by nature are very weather-resistant, compared to traditional solvent-based paints. Paint systems for windows, doors, frames, bargeboards and other façade woodwork Almost never paint woodwork again yes, this is now possible with a combination of a film-forming painting system from Drywood Coatings and the stable base provided by Accoya or Medite Tricoya Extreme. Preventing capillary water penetration by using products such as DRYWOOD Opti-Joint and DRYWOOD End Grain Sealer and finishing the other surfaces with moisture-barrier and moisture-regulating coating layers such as the single-component product DRYWOOD Optifinish G70 will mean that very little repainting will be required, and certainly not within the first 15 years. Much less maintenance is required than with traditional bases, particularly in the case of dark and façade woodwork finished with a transparent coat. Paint system for façade cladding Façades determine much of the character of a building. Drywood Coatings has developed a semi film-forming paint system to keep wooden façades in good condition. A film-forming system such as DRYWOOD Optifinish can be applied to Accoya or Medite Tricoya Extreme façade cladding. DRYWOOD Woodstain VV is a semi film-forming product that penetrates deep into the wood, giving it a beautiful colour. This product is available in almost all the transparent, semiopaque and opaque. The thin protective layer on the surface makes it more difficult for dirt to adhere and enables the wood to breathe. The product weathers uniformly, which makes it easy to perform any necessary maintenance. It is important that the façade cladding is well ventilated and that the surface is not constantly affected by water. End grain should be sealed with two coats of DRYWOOD End Grain Sealer. You can expect to do the first maintenance after 7 years.

3 Paint systems for Accoya and Medite Tricoya Extreme The chemical modification of Accoya and Medite Tricoya Extreme not only makes the base dimensionally stable and very insensitive to the moulds that affect wood, but in combination with a coating it also greatly improves its UV stability. Wood will naturally fade as it is broken down under the influence of UV light. This is greatly reduced when Accoya or Medite Tricoya Extreme is combined with a film-forming finish such as Drywood Optifinish TR or Poseidon UV TR. The transparent natural character of Accoya As Accoya is less susceptible to UV light, the products are very suitable for finishing with transparent paint systems that have a minimum of pigment. Several of these are almost pigment-free and in combination with a matt finishing coat the wood appears to be untreated, except that it won't weather. Faded wood from the outset It is possible, with just a single thin coat of stain, to make the wood look faded. A layer of light grey DRYWOOD Woodstain VV, such as Equal Weathering, will weather slowly, so the wooden cladding will fade uniformly. This will prevent a patchy appearance from developing. Windows, doors, and frames can be treated with a grey, film-forming DRYWOOD Optifinish, which will mean it can be KOMO certified and be supplied with the associated guaranties. Cradle to cradle and bio-based paint Accoya is cradle-to-cradle certified. Drywood Coatings is prepared for this with a 70% biobased stain: DRYWOOD Bioleum Woodoil. This product is based on as much natural raw materials as possible and has a low-solvent formula. Good for us and good for the environment, now and in the future! Wood joints with Accoya A durable wood joint requires not only strength but also protection from moisture. Using Drywood Opti-Joint will prevent water penetration via capillary seams in the joint. Drywood Opti-Joint can be used in traditional joints as well as in combination with screws and plugs. The product is particularly suitable for gluing components such as filler panels, slats, and thresholds, without the separate application of a sealant.
