2 Hyperlast TM Syntactic 512 Water depths to 250 metres Temperature performance to 125 C ( ) Mouldable ( ) or rotationally castable ( ) 20+ year Track Record Hyperlast TM Syntactic polyurethanes have been used for over twenty years for the protection and insulation of oil and gas flowlines, manifolds, risers, field joints, Christmas trees, jumpers, spool pieces and related sub-sea architecture. These materials have excellent thermal insulation, corrosion protection, adhesion, impact strength and are durable in the harshest working environments. Hyperlast has been tested in the field and is widely used for pipelines from the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, South China Sea, Indonesia, South America to the west coast of Africa. Hyperlast offers processors several advantages including flexibility, controllable range of hardness and low processing temperatures. Hyperlast can be moulded or rotationally cast onto line pipe.

3 Field Jointing In addition to flowline protection, Hyperlast polyurethanes have been used to produce in excess of 130,000 field joints both onshore and offshore. The fast curing times of Hyperlast jointing polyurethanes enable fast cycle times of as little as 5 minutes to be comfortably achieved. Faster cycle times to suit faster lay conditions can be provided. Hyperlast s products are compatible with polyurethanes & polypropylene parent coatings. 4 Hyperlast TM Syntactic DW-512 Range of depth capabilities DW-512 / 150 (1500 metres) DW-512 / 300 (3000 metres) Temperature performance to 115 C Mouldable and rotationally castable versions available New innovations in Hyperlast s Syntactic technology have led to the development of the DW-512 range for deep-water applications. These materials are engineered to withstand the hydrostatic pressures experienced at depths in excess of 3,000m (10,000 ft) and their impressive physical properties enable them to withstand the rigours of laying, either by reel barge, S or J lay. Several simulated service tests have been carried out on these materials at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh to analyse the properties of DW-512 when subjected to deep-water conditions with internal pipe temperatures up to 115 C (212 F). The results show: No change in thermal conductivity to ensure consistent insulation properties. No change in coating thickness due to compression by hydrostatic pressure Very low water absorption K value in the range of w/m K

Hyperlast s two-component liquid systems lend themselves to protecting complex substrates that thermoplastic products can not accommodate.
