This Addendum shall be attached to and form a part of the plans and specifications. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bid Form. In case of difference with previous addenda or communications, this addendum takes precedence. It is the responsibility of all bidders to notify all subcontractors from whom they request bids and from whom they accept bids of all changes contained in this addendum. Remove the existing roof down to the existing substrate and install new TPO. The roof is approximately 6-feet x 15-feet. Assume the existing roofing membrane is installed over a concrete deck similar to the other roofs. Replace the existing roof drain as well. 8 8100 Wild Horse Road BUILDING - A RE-ROOFING ADDITIVE ALTERNATE #1 Include in this project, as an alternate, waterproofing of the exterior wall located on the southwest corner of Building A. The wall is 25 wide X 68 tall. Refer to section Elastomeric Coating in this addendum. Work shall include the following: 1. Examine the entire surface for cracks. Install sealant at cracks greater than 1/16 wide. Assume 200 linear feet of cracks of this size. 2. Treatment of cracks less than 1/16. Assume 500 linear feet of this treatment. 3. There is a corner wall expansion joint on the right side of this photograph perpendicular to the south wall. Remove and salvage metal covering. Install new rubber expansion joint. Re-install metal joint. Paint to match building. This joint is 30 long and does extend over the small parapet wall. 4. On the interior side, south wall of the staircase, remove all damaged plaster and install interior cement plaster to match and flush with the existing adjacent plaster. Paint the entire wall surface; floor to ceiling / corner to corner. Damage is evident on all three floors. Assume 1,500 SF of interior plaster repair and painting. Refer to reference photo #4, #5, #6, and sheets AD1-SK1 and AD1-SK2 for additional information. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for alternates. 1.3 DEFINITIONS A. Alternate: An amount proposed by bidders and stated on the Bid Form for certain work defined in the Bidding Requirements that may be added to or deducted from the Base Bid amount if District decides to accept a corresponding change either in the amount of construction to be completed or in the products, materials, equipment, systems, or installation methods described in the Contract Documents. 1. The cost or credit for each alternate is the net addition to or deduction from the Contract Sum to incorporate alternate into the Work. No other adjustments are made to the Contract Sum. 1.4 PROCEDURES A. Coordination: Modify or adjust affected adjacent work as necessary to completely integrate work of the alternate into Project. 1. Include as part of each alternate, miscellaneous devices, accessory objects, and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation whether or not indicated as part of alternate. 2. Include as part of each alternate cost of related coordination, modification, or adjustment that may be required. B. Notification: Immediately following award of the Contract, notify each party involved, in writing, of the status of each alternate. Indicate if alternates have been accepted, rejected, or deferred for later consideration. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to alternates. Installer Qualifications: An Installer who employs and retains, throughout the project, supervisors who are trained and approved by manufacturer. B. Testing Agency Qualifications: An independent testing agency qualified according to ASTM C 1077 and ASTM E 329 for testing indicated. 1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Deliver materials in manufacturer's original undamaged packages or acceptable bulk containers. B. Store packaged materials to protect them from elements or physical damage. C. Do not use cement that shows indications of moisture damage, caking, or other deterioration. 1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Do not place lightweight insulating concrete unless ambient temperature is at least 40 deg F (4.4 deg C) and rising. 1. When air temperature has fallen or is expected to fall below 40 deg F (4.4 deg C), heat water to a maximum 120 deg F (49 deg C) before mixing so lightweight insulating concrete, at point of placement, reaches a temperature of 50 deg F (10 deg C) minimum and 80 deg F (27 deg C) maximum. B. Do not place lightweight insulating concrete during rain or snow or on surfaces covered with standing water, snow, or ice. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS A. Cementitious Material: Portland cement, ASTM C 150, Type I. B. Lightweight Aggregate: ASTM C332; Group I, perlite. C. Water: Clean, potable. D. Air-Entraining Admixture: ASTM C 260. E. Joint Filler: ASTM C 612, Class 2, glass-fiber type; compressing to one-half thickness under a load of 25 psi (172 kpa). March 30, Lightweight Concrete

Galvanized Plain-Steel Welded Wire Reinforcement: ASTM A 185/A 185M, 2 by 2 inches (50 by 50 mm), W0.5 by W0.5, fabricated from galvanized steel wire into flat sheets. 2.2 DESIGN MIXTURES A. Prepare design mixtures for each type and strength of lightweight insulating concrete by laboratory trial batch method or by field-test data method. For trial batch method, use a qualified independent testing agency for preparing and reporting proposed mixture designs. B. Limit water-soluble chloride ions to the maximum percentage by weight of cement or cementitious material permitted by ACI 301 (ACI 301M). 2.3 AGGREGATE LIGHTWEIGHT INSULATING CONCRETE A. Produce lightweight insulating concrete using the minimum amount of water necessary to produce a workable mix. 1. Do not exceed maximum air content recommended by aggregate manufacturer. B. Perlite Aggregate Mix: Lightweight insulating concrete produced from cementitious materials, water, air-entraining admixture, and perlite mineral aggregates. 1. As-Cast Unit Weight: 38 to 44 lb/cu. ft. (610 to 705 kg/cu. m) at point of placement, when tested according to ASTM C 138/C 138M. 2. Oven-Dry Unit Weight: 24 to 30 lb/cu. ft. (385 to 480 kg/cu. m), when tested according to ASTM C Compressive Strength: Minimum 125 psi (860 kpa), when tested according to ASTM C 495. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 PREPARATION A. Control Joints: Install control joints at perimeter of roof deck and at junctures with vertical surfaces, including curbs, walls, and vents, for full depth of lightweight insulating concrete. Fill control joints with joint filler. 1. Provide 1-inch- (25-mm-) wide control joints for roof dimensions up to 100 feet (30 m) in length; 1-1/2-inch- (38-mm-) wide control joints for roof dimensions exceeding 100 feet (30 m). B. Welded Wire Reinforcement: Place steel welded wire reinforcement with longest dimension perpendicular to steel deck ribs. Cut reinforcement to fit around roof openings and projections. Terminate reinforcement at control joints. Lap sides and ends of reinforcement at least 6 inches (150 mm). March 30, Lightweight Concrete

17 8100 Wild Horse Road BUILDING A RE-ROOFING 3.2 MIXING AND PLACING A. Mix and place lightweight insulating concrete according to manufacturer's written instructions, using equipment and procedures to avoid segregation of mixture and loss of air content. B. Deposit and screed lightweight insulating concrete in a continuous operation until an entire panel or section of roof area is completed. Do not vibrate or work mix except for screeding or floating. Place to depths and slopes indicated. C. Finish top surface smooth, free of ridges and depressions, and maintain surface in condition to receive subsequent roofing system. D. Begin curing operations immediately after placement, and air cure for not less than three days, according to manufacturer's written instructions. E. If ambient temperature falls below 32 deg F (0 deg C), protect lightweight insulating concrete from freezing and maintain temperature recommended by manufacturer for 72 hours after placement. 3.3 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. Testing Agency: Engage a qualified independent testing and inspecting agency to sample materials, perform field tests and inspections, and prepare test reports. B. Testing of samples of lightweight insulating concrete obtained according to ASTM C 172, except as modified by ASTM C 495, shall be performed according to the following requirements: 1. Determine as-cast unit weight during each hour of placement, according to ASTM C 138/C 138M. 2. Determine oven-dry unit weight and compressive strength according to ASTM C 495. Make a set of at least six molds for each day's placement, but not less than one set of molds for each 5000 sq. ft. (465 sq. m) of roof area. 3. Perform additional tests when test results indicate that as-cast unit weight, ovendry unit weight, compressive strength, or other requirements have not been met. a. Retest cast-in-place lightweight insulating concrete for oven-dry unit weight and compressive strength. 3.4 DEFECTIVE WORK A. Refinish, or remove and replace, lightweight insulating concrete if surfaces are excessively scaled or too rough to receive roofing according to roofing membrane manufacturer's written instructions. 19 8100 Wild Horse Road BUILDING A RE-ROOFING SECTION ELASTOMERIC COATING PART I - GENERAL 1.01 SCOPE OF WORK A. Coating shall include referenced exterior walls at referenced elevations. B. Install sealants at cracks greater than 1/16 in width. Allow sufficient cure times prior to installation of elastomeric coating system in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. C. Allow all repair materials to fully cure prior to installation of elastomeric coating. D. Properly prepare to pressure wash the walls to be coated. E. Be responsible for the control of overspray during the pressure wash as it relates to windows, metal frames newly installed joint sealants, pedestrian, and vehicular traffic. F. Accomplish pressure washing through the use of equipment, compounds, cleaning agents, and suggested pressure (psi) by the manufacturer of the sealants, and waterproofing materials specified. Remove all dirt, debris and vegetation that would impede the installation of the new coating system. G. Apply the specified elastomeric coating at two coats at the rate recommended/specified by the manufacturer. Even though a manufacturer may approve a one coat application, the requirements of this specification (two coats) shall prevail. H. Apply the coating within the manufacturer's recommendations of temperature and humidity ranges. I. Provide protection to all surfaces not receiving the coating to include windows, metal frames, pedestrians, sidewalks, driveways, and vehicular traffic. Immediately clean coating from all surfaces not intended to receive sealant GENERAL: A. All project staging shall have the approval of the District s Representative QUALITY CONTROL A. Plans and Specifications: 1. Contractor must notify District s Representative of any omissions, contradictions or conflicts seven (7) days before bid date. District and engineer will provide necessary corrections or additions to plans and specifications by addendum. If Contractor does not so notify District and engineer of any such condition, it will be assumed that the Contractor has included the necessary items in the bid to complete this specification. 2. It is the intent that this be a completed project as far as the contract documents March 30, Elastomeric Coating

20 set forth. It is not the intent that different phases of work on this project be delegated to various trades and subcontractors by the contract documents. Contractor must make own contracts with various subcontractors, setting forth the work these subcontractors will be held responsible for. Contractor alone will be held responsible by the District for the completed project. 3. If the Contractor feels a conflict exists between what is considered good waterproofing practice and these specifications contractor shall state in writing all objections prior to submitting quotations REFERENCES A. ASTM - American Society for Testing and Materials, Philadelphia, PA. B. FS - Federal Specification SUBMITTALS: A. Submittal requirements: Contractor shall highlight anything in the submittal package that conflicts with or changes specifications or drawings. Include a reason for the change. Any submittals that alter existing specifications or drawings shall be approved by the engineer and District prior to implementation. B. Submittals shall be made per General Requirements and as follows: C. The Contractor shall submit five sets of the following submittals to be approved by the District Representative within 7 days of commencement specified in the Notice to Proceed. 1. Data: a) Manufacturer s Technical Data on all materials to be used as part of this section. b) Warranty Specimen from Manufacturer c) Warranty Specimen from the Contractor 2. Other: a) Material Safety Data Sheets on all materials required b) Proposed Staging Method & Safety Guidelines D. Unless the precise color is specifically described in the contract documents, submit accurate color charts to the District for review and selection DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Delivery of materials: 1. Deliver materials to job-site in new, dry, unopened, and well-marked containers showing product and manufacturer's name. 2. Deliver materials in sufficient quantity to allow continuity of work. 3. Coordinate delivery with District.

Store materials marked "KEEP FROM FREEZING" in areas where temperatures will remain above 40 o F (5 o C). 2. No materials may be stored in open or in contact with ground. 3. Should Contractor be required to quickly cover material temporarily, such as during an unanticipated rain shower, all materials shall be stored on a raised platform covered with secured canvas tarpaulin (not polyethylene), top to bottom. 4. Contractor shall assume full responsibility for the protection and safekeeping of products stored on premises. D. Material handling: 1. Handle materials to avoid bending, tearing, or other damage during transportation and installation. 2. Material handling equipment shall be selected and operated so as not to damage existing construction or applied waterproofing. Do not operate or situate material handling equipment in locations that will hinder smooth flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic SITE CONDITIONS A. Field measurements and material quantities: Contractor shall have SOLE responsibility for accuracy of all measurements, estimates of material quantities and sizes, and site conditions that will affect work. B. Existing conditions: 1. Building space in and around area covered by this specification will be utilized by on-going operations. Do not interrupt District operations unless prior written approval is received from District. 2. Access to worksite shall be from exterior only. C. Safety requirements: 1. All application, material handling, and associated equipment shall conform to and be operated in conformance with OSHA safety requirements. 2. Comply with federal, state, local and District fire and safety requirements. 3. Advise District whenever work is expected to be hazardous to District, employees, and/or operators. 4. Maintain fire extinguisher within easy access whenever power tools, and torches are being used. D. Environmental requirements: 1. Do not work in rain, snow, or in presence of water. 22 2. Do not work in temperatures below 40 0 F (5 0 C). 3. Do not install materials marked "KEEP FROM FREEZING" when daily temperatures are scheduled to fall below 40 0 F (5 0 C). 4. Do not perform masonry work below 40 0 F (5 0 C). 5. Remove any work exposed to freezing. 6. Advise District s Representative when volatile materials are to be used near air ventilation intakes so that they can be shut down or blocked as District requires CONTRACTOR GUARANTEE & MANUFACTURER WARRANTY: A. CONTRACTOR GUARANTEE: The Waterproofing Contractor shall also furnish to the District a five (5) year guarantee against labor and/or material defects for all labor and materials installed under this contract. This guarantee shall also cover any and all labor and materials necessary to repair or replace any materials that are damaged, deteriorated, or otherwise altered as a result of leaks attributed to material and/or improper or inadequate workmanship. B. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY: The Materials Manufacturer shall provide a warranty covering labor and/or material deficiencies for at least a period of five (5) years from the date of acceptance by the District. This written warranty will be provided by the material manufacturer and will cover material and workmanship for at least five (5) years without a cost to the District. C. Submit all items to the District within ten (10) days of final acceptance of the project. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 GENERAL: A. All materials used on this project shall be new products. Any materials that are seconds, out of date, or used, shall be removed from the job site. All materials used on the project shall be marked or stamped with the manufacturer s name, run number, lot number or mill number. B. All materials to be used, or to be considered as approved equal products, are to be materials that have been used in the industry for a period of five (5) years, and have a proven record of performance. No materials which are less than five years of production will be used PRIMERS: A. Base coat primers for porous substrates are to be provided by the manufacturer of the elastomeric coating manufacturer CLEANING: A. Cleaning Agents shall be manufacturer approved for use on all existing surfaces.

Approved manufacturers: 1. Pecora Corporation (WeatherClad Elastomeric Acrylic Wall Coating) 2. Sonneborn (ColorFlex Acrylic Wall Coating) 3. PPG (Perma-Crete Acrylic Elastomeric Coating) 4. Sika (Sikagard 550W Elastocolor Acrylic Elastomeric Coating) 5. Or approved equal. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 PREPARATION: A. Properly prepare staging and equipment to pressure wash the specified building elevations. B. Prepare equipment to pressure wash the areas to receive the waterproofing coating. C. Use a pressure washer to remove all stains and exterior dirt and debris from the surface of the exterior. Accomplish pressure washing through the use of equipment, compounds, cleaning agents, and suggested pressure (psi) by the manufacturer of the sealants, and waterproofing materials specified. D. Adjust pressure washer pressure (psi) to eliminate damage to windows, vents, and any other exterior fixture. (NOTE: Notify the District s Representative of any area, which will require repair. Also, the contractor will be responsible for any damage occurring after commencement of work.) E. Take special precautions to avoid damaging sealants. F. Contractor must notify District s Representative of additional cleaning agents which need to be used to properly clean the exterior. G. The surface of the exterior is to be free from oils and any grease. The Contractor is responsible for the control of overspray during the pressure wash as it relates to windows, metal frames newly installed joint sealants, pedestrian, and vehicular traffic. H. Areas where the texture coat is damaged or missing can be repaired using manufacturer approved textured coating. Follow all manufacturer requirements for mixing and installing. Prior to installation, obtain approval from District Representative for matching existing textures MATERIAL PRECAUTIONS: A. Be responsible to keep the materials away from any source of open flame. B. Be responsible to remember that smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking March 30, Elastomeric Coating

24 areas established in the pre-construction meeting. C. Be responsible to keep the containers tightly closed when not in use. D. The material is not to be stored near any heat source. E. The product is to be applied in well-ventilated areas. F. Be responsible not to apply the material direct towards any air intakes for the facility. G. Insure that all employees wear protective goggles and gloves while applying the product. H. Be responsible to administer the proper first aid if the product is inhaled or comes in direct contact with the employees skin APPLICATION OF ELASTOMERIC COATING A. Apply coating material in strict accordance with manufacturer published specifications. In addition to the manufacturer requirements, the following requirements are specified. 1. Even though the manufacturer may not require it, this project shall require the use of an approved primer. Install approved primer in accordance with manufacturer specifications. 2. The coating system shall be applied in a two coat application even though manufacturers allow for one coat applications. 3. Airless sprayers may be used to apply the coating. However, all sprayed surfaces shall be backrolled immediately upon spray application. 4. The application of the coating is not to be installed when the temperature is expected to fall below 32 F (0 C) within 12 hours from the application period. The application of the coating is not to be performed on a windy day unless a roller application process is used. B. The application of the coating is to be completed during the proper temperature and humidity ranges which have been established by the coating manufacturer. C. Inspect all adjacent areas for any overspray on non-coated surfaces such as glass or metalwork. D. The Contractor shall take special precautions to avoid any overspraying near the parking areas, pedestrian areas or walkways. The Contractor is responsible to perform preliminary test before oversparying a large area to insure the area can be successfully cleaned. The Contractor is to also take special precautions against any areas of plant life, to include trees, scrubs, and lawns CLEAN UP: A. Clean adjacent surfaces free from sealant as the installation progresses, using solvents, or cleaning agents as recommended by the manufacturer of the sealant. B. Upon completion of the work, promptly remove from the job site all debris, empty containers, equipment, and other material derived from this work. C. Clean all works and metals of sealants and waterproofing coatings.
