Helpful tips can be found by referring to the Mountain Stone installation guide online at If mortar and light scuffing occur, clean immediately with a small amount of water and a soft bristle brush. It is recommended that any excess mortar be removed the day of installation. Mountain Stone suggests if you want to assure the beauty of your project do not pressure wash, sandblast, or use wire brushes or acidic compounds for cleaning. ontractors & rchitects Mountain Stone recommends a careful review of the product specification and installation guidelines associated with our products. Proper surface preparation is essential in creating a successful and long-lasting finished product. To provide proper drainage, stone should be installed no closer than -inches from the final grade. This will keep the freeze from pressuring the stone as well as help minimize staining by splashing soil sediment. Mountain Stone is not responsible for soil staining during the installation process. Local codes may vary; always check with your local building code authority prior to starting your project. Mountain Stone should not be used in conjunction with any interior vapor barrier rated less permeable than one. Veneer stone is not designed to withstand foot traffic. The improper termination of stone or the improper use or absence of flashing can create a higher possibility of water infiltration and risk damage by same. To resist water penetration, flashing must be used in accordance with applicable building codes at all penetrations and terminations of the stone veneer. flexible joint must be used in conjunction to flashing at all terminations of the stone. Mortar color strongly affects the appearance of the finished job. Most installations look best when the mortar complements the stone color. s indicated on page four of this brochure, Mountain Stone will reflect some degree of variation in color just as natural stone. ctual stone colors may vary from printed literature. Warranty Limited Warranty: Mountain Stone products carry a 50-year limited warranty when used on structures that conform to local building codes and when installed according to the manufacturer s instructions. Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of defective materials only and does not cover labor to remove and/or replace stone. Warranty does not cover damage resulting from building settlement, wall movement, contact with chemicals or paint, discoloration due to airborne contaminants, stain, or oxidation. Warranty is limited to the original purchaser.
