2 SIMPLY BUILT TO LAST The ProTEC Concrete Structural Insulated Panel System provides a wellengineered alternative to conventional lumber framing systems for residential and light commercial structures. The ProTEC system offers builders and homeowners mold and moisture resistance, superior energy efficiency, plus quick and easy construction. Despite every precaution in today s building market, mold and moisture intrusion is a frequent problem. The key to preventing mold and mildew is moisture control. The ProTEC Panel System uses only components that are unaffected by moisture and deliver superior performance in resisting mold and mildew. The ProTEC Panel System is also engineered to solve the main concerns facing today s building market-scarcity of skilled labor, quality materials, air infiltration, and energy efficiency. In the ProTEC Panel System, each panel is framing, sheathing, insulation, electrical wire chases and interior wall surface all in one. The panels are ready to finish on both the interior and exterior sides. The embedded connector system prevents air infiltration, reduces heat loss, and provides for a nearly continuous insulation value. To the homeowner, this means less drafts, greater comfort, and lower energy bills. PROVEN MATERIALS The panels are slotted and connected by means of galvanized steel framing and fasteners. The high-density EPS Core is treated with termite and insect repellent. Neither the EPS nor the Util-A-Crete skin is a food source for termites. ProTEC Panels 2 lbs./cu. ft. density Expanded Polystyrene 1/4 Util-A-Crete Backer Board G60 Galvanized Steel C-Channel Roof Truss Ties G60 Galvanized Steel C-Channel Pre-cut Vertical Wire Chases G60 Galvanized Steel H-Channel Connector Fasteners Flashing Material Sill-Seal Beneath Track 2 lbs./cu. ft. density expanded polystyrene is a rigid, high-density insulation that retains its insulation value for life. It resists moisture absorption and vapor transmission. Because of its low vapor permeance, it also eliminates the need for an additional vapor barrier unless required by local building codes. Util-A-Crete Concrete Backer Board is composed of a lightweight concrete core embedded, front and back, with a woven fiberglass mesh. It has been proven to be unaffected by mold and moisture for over 25 years. The Util-A-Crete skins also provide a high impact-resistant surface for both the interior and exterior faces of the panels. With the Util-A-Crete facings, the ProTEC Panels are ready to finish. Inside panel surfaces are taped at joints with fiberglass drywall tape and finishing compound, then feathered to create a seamless joint. The panel surface may be skim-coated with lightweight drywall compound and then finished with primer and paint or wallpaper. Exterior finish options are unlimited and include textured exterior finishes, stucco, brick or stone, and any number of exterior siding systems. PROTEC CSIPS SYSTEM DESIGN Standard 4½ or 6½ thick panels in lengths of / 8, / 8 or 10 0 consisting of two surfaces of ¼ thick Util A Crete cement skins laminated to a high density 2# per cubic foot Expanded Polystyrene core. The concrete skins are laminated to the core by applying a polyurethane adhesive to the EPS core and applying high pressure to the entire panel. The composite pieces are fused together to create the structural panel. The ProTEC Concrete Structural Insulated Panel System offers design flexibility and ease of construction. Using simple tools, a crew of only a few workers can typically erect the walls in a fraction of the time it takes for conventional framing. This adds up to fewer delays and a quicker overall construction cycle. ProTEC Panels come standard with pre-cut electrical chases. Because of the Util- A-Crete facings, time and materials are saved when finishing both the interior and exterior surfaces. All in all, buildings constructed with ProTEC Concrete Structural Insulated Panel Systems are strong, tight, and easy to assemble. They are energy efficient, resistant to mold, mildew and termites, and environmentally sound. THEY ARE, SIMPLY, BUILT TO LAST.

4 MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING A Natural for ProTEC CSIPS The ProTEC system greatly reduces construction time required to construct multi-family housing projects and offers money saving energy efficiency for the condominium owners. The Ashland Park Energy Efficient Condominium project in Apopka Florida was finished in record time. The use of the ProTEC which incorporates framing, R-20 insulation, pre-cut electrical chases, exterior sheathing, and durable interior wall surfaces eliminating the need to hang drywall on the inside of the structural wall surfaces enabled the owner to put the condos on the market in record time. The complex consists of one 12 unit two story building and three 8 unit two story buildings. These units sold in record time compared to similar stick framed projects in the area. A multi-family combo project in Centerville, Ohio was built incorporating stacked ProTEC CSIPS panels in conjunction with 16 ga steel columns embedded into the edges of the panels. The hollow columns were then filled with insulation to maintain a thermally energy efficient project. Interestingly, portions of this project were erected during a snow storm. The panels were unaffected by the weather conditions. PROTEC CSIPS MARKETS ProTEC is ideally suited for a variety of markets ranging from areas such as the Caribbean and tropical areas to the sub-zero areas of the northern United States. ProTEC can withstand severe climate changes without affecting the physical properties of the system. WORLDWIDE MARKETS ProTEC has been used to construct houses worldwide from South Africa, Spain, Jamaica, Hawaii, Brazil, Argentina, and across the United States from Florida to California. Our first buildings were in Jamaica and have survived several major hurricanes over the past 15 years. A home in Bridge City, Louisiana survived Hurricane Katrina with no damage other than losing some shingles! ADDITIONAL THICKNESSES The recent addition of the 6-1/2 thick (R-30) panel system meets the market needs of the northern and northwestern United States as well as foreign markets where climates dictate the insulation values this system has to offer. LICENSING PROGRAM For foreign markets where large volumes of homes may be required, we offer a licensing plan that enables a native entrepreneur to fabricate and market the ProTEC CSIPS system in country which will significantly reduce freight costs. For additional information on this program, please contact us using the information shown on the lower left corner of the last page of this brochure. HOTEL/ MOTEL MARKETS Hotel and Motel renovation projects are ideally suited for ProTEC. A recently completed hotel project in Florida utilized ProTEC CSIPS panels to provide a face lift to the aging building with the main benefit of reducing energy consumption.
5 EXTERIOR FINISHES ProTEC will accommodate a variety of exterior finishes ranging from: Synthetic Stucco Finishes Fiber Cement Siding Materials Sand and Cement Stucco Systems Synthetic Stone Thin Brick Vinyl Siding Real Stone Full Brick INTERIOR FINISHES No need to hang drywall on the interior surfaces of the ProTEC panels. Merely tape the joints with drywall fiberglass tape and compound and lightly sand. If you want a plaster type look, apply a skim coat of drywall compound, draw it down as tight as possible (all you want to do is fill in the pin hole sized air pockets in the surface of the cement board) lightly sand any high spots, prime and paint. It looks like a plaster wall. Textured wall applications can be applied by taping and finishing the panel joints but you can eliminate the skim coat on the panel surface. Use a texture sprayer and coat the panel surface with the texture you desire.
