RTR History Locally owned and operated company that started collecting scrap tires in 1992.

2 RTR History Locally owned and operated company that started collecting scrap tires in Originally concentrated on producing TDA (Tire Derived Aggregate) and Blast Mats for Mining and Demolition-related industries. Today, we collect over 80% of the scrap tires that the Province of Manitoba generates on an annual basis. This works out approximately 1.6 million PTE s (passenger tire equivalents) annually.

4 RTR Collection Services Our Scrap Tire Collection Services are available throughout the year, Monday Friday. Please call our office and speak to Angela to request and schedule a pick-up. The most Northern point where we physically collect from is Dauphin We work closely Northern communities and Gardewine to arrange for your scrap tires to be loaded at your local Landfills and Transfer Stations and have them shipped to Winnipeg. Towns and municipalities receive 50 cents per tire from TSM. Helps cover costs associated with properly handling and storing scrap tires at municipal landfills and transfer stations. Drop-offs at our location on 1450 Dublin Avenue in Winnipeg are always welcome.

5 Unacceptable Scrap Tire Storage DO NOT: Pile tires in one huge pile. Store scrap tires mixed in with other garbage. Have tires scattered all over the ground. Store the tires in an inaccessible fashion for a truck to access them. Store tires near water or in an area that may be submerged. Store tires under power lines.

Arrange the tires in such a way that there is enough room for a truck and trailer to park next to the tire pile.

6 Acceptable Scrap Tire Storage DO: Separate the piles of small to medium sized tires from the large (OTR) tires. Stack tires in rows preferably. Make scrap tires easily and readily accessible. Arrange the tires in such a way that there is enough room for a truck and trailer to park next to the tire pile. Have the tires stored on solid foundation in an all weather area, to ensure a truck and trailer can pick up tires even when it rains, and the truck does not sink in the mud.

21 TSM Municipal Grants The TSM Community Demonstration and Innovations Grant Program provides funding for the use of recycled tire products made from Manitoba tires in projects delivered by local governments, post-secondary and research institutions, community and youth groups, Aboriginal organizations, and First Nation communities. One-time matching grants up to project levels of $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000 are provided to communities and non-profit organizations to use and benefit from a wide range of recycled tire products.
