Aluminum Square Frame Gate Limited 5 Year Warranty Stephens Pipe & Steel, LLC warrants, to the original purchaser of Stephens Pipe Aluminum Square Frame Gate, that it is free from defects of material and workmanship. Stephens Pipe warrants that the gates will not fail during normal use for a period of 5 years from date of original purchase. This warranty only applies to defects resulting from normal use and not from changes caused by alteration, accident, abuse, fire, flood, environmental hazard, or act of God. Failure is defined as any manufacturing defect that prevents the gate from operating in a normal manner. This warrantee is valid only if the gate has been installed according to Stephens Pipe specifications. Under this warranty, Stephens Pipe & Steel,LLC s obligation is limited to replacement of defective materials only. Reimbursement for the cost of removal and/or installation are not included and Stephens Pipe will not provide such service. 10 Galvanized Steel Chain Link Accessories ASTM F626, Federal Specification RR-F-191 /4D, AASHTO M Chain link fence fittings per ASTM F 626. All ferrous metal fittings are to be galvanized per the requirements of ASTM F 626. Tension wire: Galvanized steel wire, 7 gauge, [0.177" (4.5 mm)], having a tensile strength of 75,000 psi (517 MPa). Barbed wire supporting arms: Pressed steel arms with provisions for attaching 3 rows of barbed wire. Arms shall withstand 250 lb. (113.5 kg) downward pull at outermost end of arm without failure. Truss rods & lightener: Rod minimum diameter 5/16" (7.9 mm). Fasteners: All nuts and bolts to be galvanized. Tension and Brace bands are to be pressed steel. Tension (stretcher) bars made of one continuous piece of steel or aluminum, 3/16" x 3/4" (4.76 mm x 19 mm). Provide one bar per end or gate post and two bars per corner or pull post. Tie Wire: 9 gauge [0.148" (3.76 mm)] galvanized steel or aluminum for attachment of chain link fabric to rails. Hog rings attach fabric to tension wire to be 12-1/2 GA [0.0985" (2.502 mm)]. Sleeves: Lengths of top rails to be connected using 6" (152 mm) sleeves that allow for expansion or contraction of the rail. Barbed wire: Galvanized coated, per ASTM A-121 Type Z - zinc coated wire - Design # R, double strand, 12-1/2 gauge, twisted line wire with, 4 point barbs, spaced approximately 5" on center. Post caps: Steel, cast iron, or aluminum alloy. Caps must be weatherproof to prevent moisture intrusion into post. Top with arm to be provided when barbed wire is specified. Intermediate or line post tops to have loop for top rail when specified. Rail ends: Formed steel or iron, designed to provide secure connection of top rails to terminal post and brace or other rails to terminal and intermediate posts.

Allied Tube & Conduit manufactures galvanized steel fence framework. Unlike other materials, steel contains recycled material and is also fully recyclable. In fact, according to the Steel Recycling Institute (SRI), steel is the world s most recycled material. The amount of recycled material in our steel fence products depends upon the process used by our various steel suppliers. If the pipe is made from a steel coil that comes from a steel mini-mill, then the scrap or recycled content of the steel is between % because mini-mills use a technology called "electric arc furnace" (EAF) that allows them to use up to 100% scrap. If the pipe is made from a steel coil that comes from an integrated mill, then the scrap or recycled content of the steel is about 30% because integrated mills use a technology called "basic oxygen furnace" (BOF) that restricts the use of scrap steel to no more than 30%. Both the EAF and the BOF methods provide an enhanced environmental benefit. One is not environmentally superior to the other, since they are both complementary parts of the total interlocking infrastructure of steelmaking, product manufacture, scrap generation, and recycling, as explained on the Steel Recycling Institute s website. Gates and related hardware. C. Installation 1.02 SCOPE OF WORK A. Summary: This section covers the work necessary to complete the chain link fence and gate installation. B. General: Like items of materials provided hereafter shall be the end-products of one manufacturer in order to achieve standardization for appearance, maintenance, and replacement. C. Delivery, Storage, and Handling: Deliver material to the site in an undamaged condition. Actual samples of the material may be requested. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIAL A. Framework: SS 40 Fence Framework manufactured by Allied Tube & Conduit conforming to Standard Specification ASTM F 1043, Group IC. High-strength steel pipe triple coated per ASTM F 1043: external coating, Type B; internal coating, Type D. B. Fabric Options: Fabric to be 9-gauge wire, woven in a 2" diamond mesh. Top selvage to be twisted and barbed, bottom selvage to be knuckled unless otherwise specified. 1. Aluminized fabric shall be manufactured in accordance with ASTM A 491 and coated before weaving with a minimum.40 ounces of aluminum per square foot of surface area. The steel wire and coating shall conform to ASTM A Zinc-coated fabric shall be galvanized before or after weaving in accordance with ASTM A 392, Class 1 or Class CONCRETE MIX A. Concrete: Conforming to ASTM C 94, having a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 PSI at 28 days COMPONENTS A. Rails and Braces: 1-5/8" O.D. B. Gates: Per ASTM F 900 C. F. Barbed Tape: If required, options are available in ASTM F 1910 Table 1 and 2. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. General: Installation to conform to ASTM F 567. B. Height: Provide height as indicated on contract drawings. C. Post Spacing: Space line posts at intervals not exceeding ten feet. D. Post Setting: Set terminal, gate and line posts plumb in concrete footings. Top of footing to be 2" above grade and sloped to direct water away from posts. E. Bracing: Brace Gate and terminal posts back to adjacent line posts with horizontal brace rails and diagonal truss rods. F. Top Rail: Install through line loop caps connecting sections with sleeves to form a continuous rail between terminal posts. G. Bottom / Middle Rail: Install between posts with line rail clamps or rail ends and bands. H. Fabric: Pull fabric taut with bottom selvage 2" above grade. Fasten to terminal posts with tension bars threaded through mesh and secured with tension bands at maximum 15" intervals. Tie to line posts and top rails with tie wires spaced at maximum 12" on posts and 24" on rails. Attach to bottom/top tension wire with hog rings at maximum 24" intervals. I. Barbed Wire: Anchor to terminal extension arms, pull taut, and firmly install in slots of line post extension arms. J. Gates: Install gates plumb, level and secure for full opening without interference. Anchor center stops and keepers in concrete. K. Fasteners: Install nuts for fittings, bands, and hardware bolts on inside of fence. L. Barbed Tape: Install in accordance with ASTM F Consult with manufacturer for unique applications COMPLETION A.
