3 synergy: technical features that represent the cutting edge. Machine: synergy s compact permanent-magnet, gearless machines are highly efficient and provide the performance of much larger, gear-driven systems. The system s permanent-magnet machine is also a more energy-efficient alternative. It uses less energy than a conventional system and does not require contaminating gear lubricants. Roping: Both the counterweight and the car are roped 2:1 under-slung with industry-standard steel ropes. This reduces hoistway dimensions and overhead requirements. In fact, synergy s reduced overhead eliminates the need to alter the superstructure of roofs at all, thus giving it lower overhead requirements than other MRL systems. ontroller: Our cutting-edge TA50 controller is located on a side wall in the hoistway overhead and is accessible from the car top or, depending on the building design and local code requirements, can be located in a room adjacent to the hoistway. synergy is ThyssenKrupp Elevator s first global elevator system. ombining more than 30 MRL applications manufactured globally, synergy is born from worldwide expertise and a commitment to best practices. synergy is a cost-efficient solution for architects, builders and building owners that uses less space and meets or exceeds today s safety standards. synergy, like all ThyssenKrupp products, offers the technical support of one of the largest elevator companies in the world. The many advantages of the synergy line of products lead to unprecedented design flexibility flexibility that allows you to design and plan without compromise.

4 MRL: elevating the possibilities. EFFIIENT, OST-EFFETIVE TEHNOLOY: A LOBAL FIT: Our determination to develop the most innovative products available has led us to become passionately committed to MRL (Machine Room-Less) elevator technology. Years of research and study have allowed us to create over 30 MRL products, globally. ThyssenKrupp s dedication to creating new MRL systems is based on the fact that they are more sustainable, simpler, space-saving alternatives to conventional gear-driven elevator designs. The more efficient designs of these innovative systems allow them to be more cost effective as well. A pioneering modular design allows synergy to be custom fit to meet local codes around the globe. Members of ThyssenKrupp Elevator s global engineering team came together to create this revolutionary product. Their combined experience and expertise gave birth to a system like no other that provides efficiencies never before possible. learly, MRL systems are the future. The future of MRL systems is our newest and most advanced creation: synergy.

5 synergy: freedom to design. more room to work with. LESS SPAE MEANS MORE PLANNIN OPTIONS: A MORE EFFIIENT SYSTEM: synergy is an extremely compact MRL system that needs no machine room and has a hoistway footprint that takes up less space than conventional traction elevators. In fact, in some applications, synergy has lower overhead and smaller pit depth requirements than many other MRL systems. The space saved offers building owners, planners and architects a much smoother ride when planning a project. After all, less space for the elevator means more space for the building. Plus, to further maximize design freedom, synergy doesn t require altering the superstructure of building roofs. synergy s permanent-magnet gearless machines, coupled with efficient drives in place of conventional geared machines, use less energy. In addition, the lack of underground lubricants offers a more environmentally clean operation. All of these design improvements make synergy MRL elevators easy to install and service, as well as less expensive to operate over their long life cycle. This design flexibility allows you to bring technology previously available only in high-profile buildings, such as hotels and high-rise offices to projects with smaller budgets. Now the comfort, safety, efficiency and environmental benefits once reserved for only the most expensive projects are available for projects of many different sizes and scopes. OMPAT ESIN O NOT HAVE TO ALTER SUPERSTRUTURE ESIN AN PLANNIN FLEXIBILITY PERMANENT-MANET MAHINES INSTEA OF EARE MAHINES ENERY EFFIIENT NO UNERROUN LUBRIANTS SMALLER PIT EPTH AN OVERHEA REQUIREMENTS THAN OTHER LEAIN MRL SYSTEMS IN SOME APPLIATIONS

6 work not included in elevator contract* The following preparatory work is required in order to properly install the elevator equipment. The cost of this work is not included in the elevator proposal, since it is a part of the building construction. A plumb and legal hoistway, properly framed and enclosed; and including a pit of proper depth, and a pit ladder for each elevator. rains, lights, access doors, waterproofing and hoistway ventilation, as required. routing of door sills, hoistway frames and signal fixtures after installation of the elevator equipment. All painting, except as otherwise specified. Provide a suitable control closet with access and ventilation in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations. The control closet shall be maintained at a temperature between 32 F (0 ) and 104 F (40 ). To be measured at 6 feet (1830 mm) above the floor and 1 foot (305 mm) out from the front center of the car controller(s). Relative humidity is not to exceed 95% non-condensing. Local codes may require tighter temperature ranges and higher ventilation levels. Please check with your local code authority for the exact requirements in your area. If your control closet temperatures exceed these requirements, contact your local ThyssenKrupp Elevator sales representative for assistance. Adequate supports in foundations to carry the loads of all equipment, including overhead machine and machine beams located in hoistway and supports for guide rail brackets. Provide hoistway walls designed and constructed in accordance with the required fire rating (including those places where elevator fixture boxes, rail bracket fastenings and any other penetration into the hoistway walls). Temporary enclosures, barricades and other protection from open hoistways and elevator work area during the time the elevator is being installed, to meet all permanent installation safety codes. Smoke detector/sensing devices and contacts wired to elevator control, as required by local code. A means to automatically disconnect the main line power supply to the elevator, prior to the application of water in the elevator control closet will be furnished by the electrical contractor. This means shall not be self resetting. omplete three phase connections from the electric power mains to each controller, including necessary circuit breakers and fused mainline disconnect switches. All telephone wiring to the control panel and installation of telephone instrument or other communication equipment in elevator cab with all connections to elevator in control closet. Electric power of the same characteristics as the permanent supply without charge for the construction, testing and adjusting. Provide proper piping and conduit. ivider beams for rail bracket support, as required. A standby power source, including necessary transfer switches and auxiliary contact, where elevator operation from an alternate power supply is required. Adequate storage facilities for elevator equipment prior to and during installation at ground level within 150 feet of hoistway. utting of walls, floor, etc. and removal of such obstructions as may be necessary for proper installation of the elevator. Setting of anchors and sleeves. *Refer to elevator layout drawings for details of each requirement.
