6 AES AFP TR Structures + Glazing + Membranes Novum produces structural systems for architectural steelwork, free form, cables, tension rods, space frames and structural glass solutions. Our glazing systems adapt for overhead and vertical applications and attach via point, edge, corner, linear and conventional aluminum methods. We also execute glazed stairs and walkways. We manufacture membrane systems for air filled pillows, single skins and tensioned fabrics using ETFE, PTFE and PVC materials. AFP 4 Novum Structures

9 ECG FF Designing with Systems Virtually every Novum project adopts a blend of our systems with custom elements. This approach brings all the benefits of experience and repetition. It is common to use several systems in a single architectural application. Our technical teams creatively combine systems and don t subscribe to the belief that custom means inventing from scratch or being relegated to commodity approaches. 10 Structural Systems Structural Component Systems AES-System Architecturally Exposed Steel Mechanically fastened custom precision steelwork of the finest quality. Novum concepts embody minimal site use of welding and finishing. BB-System Beam to Beam A systemic approach for elegant, mechanically connecting beams to form highly efficient three dimensional structures without nodes. DC-System Disc Clamp An accessory system for the very elegant and lightweight tension stiffening of grids comprised of other Novum structural systems. BK-System Block Knoten A nodal system for single layer curved structures, which for longer spans, can easily be transformed into a grid shell or double layer structure. FF-System Free Form The unique bolted bending, stiff connection system for connecting beams that collectively form single layer, free surface geometries. TC-System Tension Cable Fully engineered cables for architectural applications, in stainless or galvanized strand, complete with pre-stress methodology. GG-System Glass to Glass A structural system where glass is used as the primary structural element and also functions as the enclosure. KK-System Kugel Knoten The classic space frame system for double layer grids of free geometry and long spans with a very economical strength to weight ratio. 11 Membrane Systems Glazing Systems AFP-System Air Filled Pillow Uniquely shaped air filled pillows, with a fully integrated perimeter, create a highly efficient and economical panel system. ASG-System Aluminum Supported Glass A traditional aluminum framing system which economically captures all varieties of glass cladding with optional capping. CCG-System Corner Clamped Glass Cast clamps capture structural glazing panels, at their corners only, allowing great transparency and expression. CTF-System Cable Tensioned Fabric Multiple materials are available to create free form surfaces by the biaxial tensioning of a single layer of fabric. ECG-System Edge Clamped Glass An optimized and economic system which supports glass panel edges, only as required, and is ideally suited to glazing any surface geometry. LSG-System Linear Supported Glass A nominal depth glazing system developed to attach glass directly to high precision primary structures comprised of Novum products. SSM-System Stressed Skin Membrane A single layer membrane is post tensioned and discreetly supported by thin, lightweight cables. PSG-System Point Supported Glass The ultimate structural glazing technology with a broad range of complementary and well engineered accessories.
