3 Material Aquasystem PP-R AQUASYSTEM PP-R PP-R PP-R is a thermoplastic and a semi-crystalline material. PP-RCT fibre pipe has a fibre reinforced layer, lowering its thermal expansion coefficient. The system has good mechanical properties, chemical resistance and thermal stability. Size range d20-d125 Aquasystem PP-R can be easily jointed by socket fusion and electrofusion. 5 Application & Materials FIRE RATINGS Aquasystem has a flammability rating to DIN 4102 of B2 - normal flammability, non-dripping Plastic piping systems do not have classification (e.g. Class O) under BS The fire propagation index in BS 476 is not intended for pipework systems. It is intended for the assessment of the performance of internal wall and ceiling linings. Building regulations in England and Wales state that intumescent fire sleeves should be used where plastic pipes above 40mm penetrate fire barriers. The risk of propagating a fire is reduced by the fact that a hole in the pipe would cause liberation of pressurised water that could put out the fire. Plastic pipework are normally surrounded by class O insulation and would give fire protection for a period of time. Foil faced Rockwool insulation would give adequate protection for a period of time.

6 Bracket Support Distances - Aquasystem BRACKET SUPPORT DISTANCES Pipework needs to be supported at certain intervals, depending on the materials, pipe wall temperature, medium transported and thickness of pipe. All support distances are based on fluids with a density the same as water.

11 Approvals - Aquasystem WRAS APPROVAL George Fischer holds the following relevant Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) Approvals (complete with approval number): : Aquasystem PP-RCT Fibre Pipe. Grey coloured opaque polypropylene pipe. For cold and hot water use up to 60 C : Aquasystem PP-R. Beige coloured injection moulded polypropylene fittings. For cold and hot water use up to 60 C.

13 Site Logistics SITE LOGISTICS George Fischer plastic pipe and fittings are lightweight (1 sixth the weight of steel), impact resistant and can be easily transported around the site. Pipe and fittings are delivered to site bagged and labelled keeping the materials dry and clean ready for installation. Plastic materials have no resale value so deters pilferage. The materials are easily identifiable being a different colour and clearly marked along the length of the pipe and moulded into the fitting denoting the material.

14 Availability AVAILABILITY George Fischer piping systems are available and a stock item through nominated distributors. To back this up George Fischer stock the whole of the UK requirements for our products at our distribution centre in Coventry. George Fischer offer up to twice weekly delivery service on our own transport to stockists and customers. George Fischer products are available locally at our nominated distributors.

18 Training & Site Support TRAINING & SITE SUPPORT George Fischer consider the training and certification of installers as top priority and therefore insist that prior to any work undertaken the appropriate training shall be carried out by our qualified trainer. The training covers the following: Product introduction, i.e. what it is and it s abilities Range introduction Storage Tooling and ancillary items required, Preparation of the fusion machine, limits as to use Fusion of the joint, to include induced failure and other possible influences that may cause failure. Overcoming failures Joint analysis, correcting failures, Controlling expansion and contraction, an over view of fixed point, expansion legs. GF expectations. Weekly site visits can be undertaken to ensure the correct methods of installation, answer any technical queries and train additional installers. Reports on the site visits can be produced to be in line with the client s procedures. At the end of the project George Fischer will train the client s maintenance team.
