6 Use-Examples of enforcements: ALFAKOL 2* Alfakol 2* C1TE-Superstrength, Acrylic, Waterproof With null vertical slipping and extended appliance time, for indoor and outdoor use on floors, walls, ceramic and tiles. Also ideal for building Ytong blocks. Preparation of sub layer: For better results we must follow the rules below. The surfaces that the mixture will be placed on different walls or floors have to be well clean from dust, oil, polyurethane, or other material. If the substrates are rusted and destroyed must be carefully cleaned and removed from any other materials. We have to be careful that the area where the mixture is done (bucket), is made by a product which can be easily cleaned. During the preparation of the product, you must be sure that the metals of the spatula or buckets do not have any signs of rust that can affect negatively the chemical reaction and the color of the adhesive. We also have to be careful that the containers we will use are easy to clean and they will always be clean before use. At the end of day, we suggest you clean all the instruments used, because the miss cleaning of the instruments can conclude in bad colors on your final construction. The chemical reactions of the materials can affect the soldering ( in alkali trestle we use primer). The substrate must be a smooth surface, so the use of overdose adhesive is not needed. With this method, we will cover all the anomalies of the floor or wall. Do not forget that all the construction products are producing for the best possible quality, save time and perfect essential result. Preparation of Mixture: We mix 25kg ALFAKOL 2* with roughly 8 liters clean water in a clean container, always with electric stirrer until we achieve uniform pastry. Wait for 5 minutes and mix again. The material is ready for use. ALFAKOL 2* has life in the container for approximately 4 hours when we stir every 1 hour. We do not add water, simply we stir with an electric blender. Most minimum time for light use 24 hours and the time of final use 14 days. 1

7 Directives of Use: 1. We clean and fix the rotten sublayer. 2. Afterwards we should clean the surface by any chance oils, dust, remains of colour etc. 3. The wall does not need any sprinkling either the tiles need any wash. This saves time and money. 4. We stretch out the adhesive with toothed spatula as long as it needs we work for minutes depending on temperature. At temperatures above 23ºC the open time of application decreases and at temperatures under 23ºC, the open time of application increases. We cover the decorated surface with tiles which abstain from each other 2-3 thousandth for expansion and contraction. 5. In order to cover 1 sq.m.of tiles we need 2-5 Kg ALFAKOL 2*. For other uses it depends on type and surface that it will be placed. 2

31 Use-Examples of enforcements: ALFAKOL 18* Alfakol 18* C2TE-S2 Super strength, Flexible, Acrilic, Waterproof with null vertical slipping and extensive appliance time, flexibility (category 2), for indoor and outdoor use on floors, walls, for ceramic with low absorption granité, granites, stones, ceramic on ceramic, glass mosaics, pools, floor heating, polystyrenes, cement board and glass bricks. For better results we must follow the rules below. The chemical reactions of the materials can affect the soldering (in alkali trestle we use primer). The substrate must be a smooth surface, so the use of overdose adhesive is not needed. With this method, we will cover all the anomalies of the floor or wall. Do not forget that all the construction products are producing for the best possible quality, save time and perfect essential result. Preparation of Mixture: We mix 25kg ALFAKOL 18* with roughly 8 liters clean water in a clean container, always with electric stirrer until we achieve uniform pastry. Wait for 5 minutes and mix again. The material is ready for use. ALFAKOL 18* has life in the container for approximately 4 hours when we stir every 1 hour. We do not add water, simply we stir 26

32 with an electric blender. Most minimum time for light use 24 hours and the time of final use 14 days. Directives of Use: 1. 5. 41 ALFATHERM Base Coat ALFATHERM Base Coat is a cement mortar of one component based on high quality cement, selected fine grained sand, special additives and fibers for bonding and levelling thermal insulation panels on bricks, plastered surfaces, even on concrete walls. Also ideal for bonding and levelling reinforcing mesh on thermal insulation panels. It can also be used for plaster boards & cement boards as a coating, or on various textured plaster surfaces. Instructions for use: Surface preparation: The substrate must be flat, strong and clean from dust or oils. In case that the substrate is not flat, it is recommended to even out variations in surface level, before ALPHA THERM application. For better adhesion the surfaces should be lightly moistened with little water. Mixing: In a clean bucket, add 6 7 Litres clean water and 25kg ALAFATHERM BASE COAT. Mixing with a concrete machine or with a low speed electrical mixer until a smooth homogeneous paste is obtained. Leave the mixture to stand for about 5 minutes and mix again. Application Steps For maximum results, the following steps described below are recommended: Step 1: For bonding thermal insulation panels on masonry: choose one of the 2 methods of 1(i) or 1(ii) depending on your existing substrate. 1(i) For substrate without any raised areas or indentations Full Surface Coating Method: directly on substrate apply a thin layer of Alfatherm Base Coat with the flat side of the trowel. Give thickness to the application by adding the same coating with the notched side of the trowel and install the thermal insulation panels by applying a strong pressure over the panels in order to adhere well with the substrate. 1(ii) For substrate with little raised areas or indentations Peripheral Strip & Middle Points Coating Method: For polystyrene panels: apply Alfatherm Base Coat with a trowel at a 4-5 cm strip along the board edges and at 3 spots in the middle with a diameter of about 15cm. Then place the panels on the masonry by applying a pressure over them in order to adhere well with the substrate. For mineral wool panels: in order to obtain an adequate bonding, firstly a kind of primer should be applied with the flat side of the trowel, filling in that way the pores of mineral wool panels. After priming, follow the application process of Alfatherm Base Coat (as described above in method 1 (ii) for polystyrene panels). In all cases of Method 1(ii), the mortar should cover at least 40% of the board s surface. 36

42 Step 2: For bonding fiberglass mesh on thermal insulation panels: Directly on thermal insulation panel, apply a thin layer of Alfatherm Base Coat with the flat side of the trowel. Give to the application the desire thickness by adding the same coating with a notched trowel of 5mm and embed the fiberglass mesh. Applying pressure to the mess with a flat trowel and leave the material to adequate dry before proceeding to step 3. Step 3: Surface preparation prior the application of finish coat: follow one of the 2 methods below 3(i) or 3(ii) depending on your choice for the finish coat (elastomeric paint or acrylic textured plaster) 3(i) Surface preparation when finish coat is elastomeric paint: On the surface, apply 2 layers of Alfatherm Top Coat (about 2mm). Rub the surface when it is still fresh and let the material be sufficiently dried. Now, the surface is flat and smooth. Then prime the surface with Alfaliq Primer and let it to dry completely. 3(ii) Surface preparation when finish coat is acrylic textured plaster: Surface preparation when finish coat is acrylic textured plaster: On the surface, apply 1 layer of Alfatherm Base Coat (about 2mm) and let the material be sufficiently dried. Now, the surface is flat and smooth. Then prime the surface with Alfaliq Grafit Primer and let it to dry completely. Step 4: Finish Coat: The options is Elastomeric Paint or Acrylic Textured Plaster. Recommendations Do not bond thermal insulation panels with ALFATHERM BASE COAT in weathered and damaged plasters. All flimsy areas and layers with low mechanical resistance should be preliminary removed prior the application of ALFATHERM. Special attention should be paid to humidity issues. Prior the installation of thermal insulation panels, any surfaces which are subject to high level of humidity penetration, should be insulated with the Alfa Water Seal, at a height of 30-40cm above ground level. Weather Conditions: Use at temperatures between +5 o C and +40 o C. Too high or too low temperatures, it might cause a negative reaction to the product. Storage: Store out of direct sunlight, clear of the ground on pallets, protect from rainfall. Avoid excessive compaction. Shelf life is 8 months when stored as above. 37

51 Introduction: ALFA ARMOS Alfa GROUT CG2- Super strength, Flexible, Acrilic, Waterproof, excellent quality with base the cement, powder and different chemical additives. It can be used for measurements from 1-8mm. It has excellent results in the accretions and dryness, and it is offered in various colours. It is applied ion indoor and outdoor use of floors and wall as also in pools. Preparation of Mixture: We mix 5kg ALFA GROUT with roughly 1,5liters clean water in a clean container, always with electric stirrer until we achieve uniform pastry. Wait for 5 minutes and mix again. The material is ready for use. ALFA GROUT has life in the container for approximately 4 hours when we stir every 1 hour. We do not add water, simply we stir with an electric blender. Most minimum time for light use 48 hours and the time of final use 14 days. 45

52 Directives of Use: 1. We stretch out the rabbet with spatula, diagonally on the ceramic, until we fill the rabbets between ceramic and there are no remaining voids. 2. When the rabbet becomes blear, (in temperatures above 23ºC the open time of application is decreased and in temperatures under 23ºC is increased) we rub him with a sponge. When it almost dries out, then we use a soft cloth for the final cleaning of ceramic. 3. The grouting becomes at least 24 hours afterwards the placement of the ceramic. 4. If we proceed in cleaning more early or add more water than that it should have, it is likely we have chromatic alteration of our rabbet. 5. In order to cover 1 sq.m with roughly 2-3mm [systolodiastoli] we will need 1/2 Kg Alfa GROUT. For other uses it depends on type and surface that it will be placed. Constitutions: The grout shouldn t get involved with cement or other material, neither with dirty water. The quantity of water should be exact, in order to have the result we wish. The temperatures that can be used by the mixture are +5 C up to +40 C. 46

78 SMARTELASTIC PLAST Thick SMARTELASTICK PLAST Thick-granulated is a cement base superstrength initialfinal plaster, reinforced with fibers, synthetic resins and special additives that improve the adhesion on different substrates. Suitable for interior-exterior applications on cement blocks, bricks thermal insulated or no, Climalite, Ytong, plastered surfaces and Fair Face. Moreover, it can be used as an application on Sprits surface, whether painted or not, only if there is no humidity and the wall is strong. Instructions for use: Surface preparation: The substrate must be solid, dry and free of dust, loose parts or oils. Surfaces that are not sufficiently solid must be removed. For better adhesion thorough dampening of the substrate before application is necessary. Mixing: Add 25kg SMARTELASTIC PLAST Thick-granulated to 7 8 L water. Mix in a concrete machine or with an electrical mixer until a smooth uniform mix is produced, leave the mixture to stand for about 5 minutes and mix again. After the product begins to set do not add any water because of negative mechanical strengths. Application: The substrate is cleaned and moistened. Application can be done using level guides to the desirable thickness. Each layer must be around mm. For trowel application thickness should be 5mm for each layer. Plastered surfaces should be wetted for 2-3 days. Decoration: The plastered surface has to dry out completely (7-14 days) so you can cover with a coating the small cracks and the shrinkable of the layer after you have wetted the surface with water. The plastered surface can be decorated with a wide range of paints, texture finishes or compounds available by Paralimnitiko. We recommend the use of SMART PLAST fine granulated for a smooth surface. Weather Conditions: Use at temperatures between +5 o C and +40 o C. Too high or too low temperatures, it might cause a negative reaction to the product. PROTECT FROM HUMIDITY Storage: All cement base products must be stored in dry areas, in original unopened packaging on wooden pallets. Even under these conditions, after a period of time the material is influenced by the atmosphere humidity. Do not use the product if it has hardened. The storage time should not exceed 8 months. 70

81 LIMEPLASTER UNDERCOAT Thick LIMEPLASTER UNDERCOAT is a ready mixed initial plaster without cement, based on lime, limestone powder, perlite and special additives that give high elasticity and improved adhesion to the final product. Suitable for plastering surfaces of stone, bricks, concrete blocks etc. Ideal for stone that is chemically incompatible with cement mortars, for restoration of traditional buildings and hagiography (painting of holy icons on building surfaces). Instructions for use: Surface preparation: THICK-GRANULATED LIMEPLASTER is generally applied to clean and sound surfaces. Cracks or cavities are suitably filled and allowed to cure. To avoid immediate absorption of mix water by the substrate and for better adhesion saturate the surface to provide a saturated surface dry condition. Mixing: Pour 25L LIMEPLASTER Thick-granulated to 8 L water. Mix in a concrete machine for big quantities or with a low speed electric mixer for small quantities, until a homogeneous lump free mix is obtained. Mixing period should not exceed 5 minutes because it might cause adverse effect on its mechanical properties. Leave the mixture to stand for about 5 minutes and mix again. The mix remains workable, in the container for about min depending on ambient temperature and humidity. After the product begins to set do not add any water because of negative mechanical strengths. Application: Application can be done using level guides and wedges, by either a trowel or float. Thickness can vary according to the overall thickness required but it is normally between 25 and 30 mm. It must not be applied over 30 mm thick. If this is required it should be done as an extra coat (two intermediate coats). The plastered surface remains workable for a few days, if sprayed with water immediately before. Then rub with a wooden or plastic flat. Next day the surface is perfected, immediately after spraying with water. Keep the surface wet for at least 30 days, especially in hot weather. Decoration: For practical reasons plastered surface should remain unpainted for several months. Weather Conditions: Use at temperatures between +5 o C and +40 o C. Too high or too low temperatures, it might cause a negative reaction to the product. Storage: All lime based products must be stored in dry areas, in original unopened packaging on wooden pallets. Even under these conditions, after a period of time the material is influenced by the atmosphere humidity. Do not use the product if it has hardened. The storage time should not exceed 9 months. 73

100 ALFAREP ALFAREP is one component, cementitious pre-bagged, ready to use REPAIR Mortar, with NO LIME. When mixed with the correct amount of water, it produces a thixotropic, high strength repair mortar, reinforced with acrylic fibres. ALFAREP has very low permeability and is suitable for repairing concrete elements and generally wherever high strength is necessary. Instructions for use: Surface preparation: The substrate must be flat and clean from dust or oils. For better adhesion Thorough dampening of the substrate before application is necessary. Weak or damaged concrete shall be removed. All the concrete steel structure should be cleaned from rust and after to be primed with a special primer for the protection of iron. Mixing: Add 25kg ALFAREP to 5 6 L water. Mix in a concrete machine or with an electrical mixer until a smooth uniform mix is produced, leave the mixture to stand for about 5 minutes and mix again. After the product begins to set do not add any water because of negative mechanical strengths. Application: The substrate is cleaned and moistened. While the surface is still damp, ALFAREP can be applied by spraying machine or hand troweling, in thicknesses up to 20 mm in one layer. Greater thicknesses can be achieved by applying more than one layer. When applying by hand ALFAREP must be forced tightly into the substrate to ensure intimate contact with the pre-wetted substrate. Final finishing should be carried out using a steel float. Surfaces should be wetted for 2-3 days. Weather Conditions: Use at temperatures between +5 o C and +40 o C. Too high or too low temperatures, it might cause a negative reaction to the product. Storage: Store out of direct sunlight, clear of the ground on pallets, protect from rainfall. Avoid excessive compaction. Shelf life is 9 months when stored as above. 91

Ideal for the coating of indoor and outdoor areas, from Fair Face beton or 2 nd and 3 rd hand coat. Mixture, Preparation of sub layer and examples of enforcements: 1. We add clean water into an empty container or a concrete mixer. 2. We place into the empty container or the concrete mixer, first the water and after the material one by one. 3. The mixture is made with an electric mixer or a concrete mixer, mixing at low speed until the material becomes a smooth mass. We leave the mixture to mature for 5 minutes and then we mix again. 4. We use the mixture when it is still fresh, and we continue carefully the above instruction. We do not leave the mixture unmixed for a long time. A fast way to check if the mixture is still fresh is to touch with two fingers on the surface and if the two fingers are sticky, then we can use the mixture. 5. The mixture can be stored in the container for 4 hours, provided that we stir again. 6. After a while we do not mix or add water because of some negative mechanical strength. Application: 1. The surface which will the mixture be applied has to be clean from dust, any other material, or oil and has to be sprinkled with water well before use. 2. The substrate has to be flat without any anomalies for better final appliance. 3. When the surface has a big absorption then good sprinkling of the surface is needed. 4. The layer can be done with a spatula in 2 layers or more. The time between the layers must be at least 1-12 hours, proportionally with the temperature or the layer. 5. Leave at least 12 hours the final layer to dry and after it can be anchored with sandpaper. 128 THERMAL INSULATION SERIES THERMAL INSULATION PRODUCTS - PERLOBETON - THERMOSOVAS

129 PERLOBETON PERLOBETON is ready pre-mixed, lightweight mortar based on expanded perlite, cement and sand. Is reinforced with polymeric fibres and quality enhancing additives, that give thermal insulation, fire resistance, and acoustic effect. Suitable for internal or external use, for leveling flat roofs, or on thermal insulating panels if first is applied adhesive with fibre net. Mixture, Preparation of sub layer and examples of enforcements: 1. Pour the material into clean water and mix in a concrete machine until a homogeneous lump free mix is obtained. Also Spraying machine can be used. 2. Mixing time should not exceed 5 minutes because it might cause adverse effect on its mechanical properties. 3. Allow the mix to cure for 5 minutes and periodically repeat stirring. 4. Use the mixture within ½ hour from mixing - while is still fresh. Do not leave the mix unmixed for a long time. An easy way to check if the mixture is still fresh is to touch with two fingers on the surface and if the two fingers are sticky, then mixture can be used. 5. Do not mix with water or latex additive when the mixture starts to set in the bucket. In such case the mix should be dropped. Application procedure: 1. The base concrete surface should be structurally sound and free from excessive dust, dirt and contaminants such as oil and grease. 2. To properly clean the surface, the whole area should be brushed over with a stiff bristle broom and water. 3. After you place the guides apply Perlobeton to the desire thickness (up to 8-10 cm), by a plaster spraying machine or by hand using convectional tools for screed laying. Greater thicknesses (up to 15cm) can be achieved by applying more than one layer, after the first layer is almost dry. 4. The surface should be lightly dampened, for 2 3 days, beginning 24 hours after application, especially in hot weather, with intense evaporation. 5. One bag covers approximately 1 m 2 of plastering with thickness 22mm always under normal conditions. 6. The plastered surface can be decorated with a wide range of Paralimnitiko products (such as plasters, texture coatings, adhesives), paint e.t.c. Warning: Avoid the application of THERMOPILOS at high sun shines, temperatures and also hot wind. As result, is to avoid cracks during the period of dryness and maturation of the surface. The plastered surface has to stay so it absorbs for at least 7 days in summer, and 14 days in winter, so the cracks can be covered with the next plaster. 115

133 THERMOSOVAS THERMOSOVAS is a mixed thermal lightweight plaster, based on expanded perlite, grey cement, lime and its reinforced with polymeric fibers. The various chemical additives and the expanded perlite give a perfect thermal insulation, fire resistance, and improves sound insulation. Ideal for internal and external use, on fair face, as a 2 nd hand plaster on bricks, blocks or thermal insulated bricks, YTONG and Climalite Daliko and Polysterine( if first we applied adhesive with fiber net and 1 st hand plaster). An ideal underlayment for paints, decorative plasters and wallpapers Mixture, Preparation of sub layer and examples of enforcements: 1. We add clean water into an empty container or a concrete mixer. 2. We place into the empty container or the concrete mixer, first the water and after the material one by one. 3. Prepare the plaster by adding THERMOSOVAS to a measured amount of clean water. It can be mixed by mechanical mixer or in a concrete mixer. The mixing period it should not be more than 4-5 minutes. Use the plaster mixture within ½ hour from mixing. 4. After a while we do not mix or add water because of some negative mechanical strength. 5. We use the mixture when it is still fresh, and we continue carefully the above instruction. We do not leave the mixture unmixed for a long time. A fast way to check if the mixture is still fresh is to touch with two fingers on the surface and if the two fingers are sticky, then we can use the mixture. 6. The mixture can be stored in the bucket for a maximum of 1/2 hour after the mix. Application: 1. The surface has to be clean from dust, loose particles, grease and traces of foreign materials. and has to be sprinkled with water well before use. 2. The substrate has to be flat without any anomalies for better final appliance. 3. When the surface has a big absorption then good sprinkling of the surface is needed. 4. It can be used as a plaster of different wall bricks as 2 nd hand. For the 2 nd hand to be done, at least one day has to pass from the enforcement of the 1 st hand. 5. A 25 L bag covers approximately 1 m 2 of plastering with thickness 20-25mm always under normal conditions. 6. The surface can be covered with all Paralimnitiko plasters and ALFAKOL adhesives. For the final coat is recommended to use THERMO ΤΡΙΤΟ ΧΕPI. Warning:We avoid the application of Thermosovas at high sun shines, temperatures and also hot wind. As result, is to avoid bad adhesion and cracks during the period of dryness and maturation of the surface. The plastered surface has to stay so it absorbs for at least 7 days in 119
