1 We Have a Better Way to Keep You Safe and Comfortable ENERTITE Open-Cell Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation
2 ENERTITE is low-density open-cell spray-applied polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation. Applied as a liquid, this water-blown foam quickly expands to many times its original size completely filling wall cavities. ENERTITE easily flows in and around difficult-to-reach areas such as pipes and wiring, creating a seamless seal. In a one-step application, ENERTITE insulates against extreme outdoor temperatures, makes a quieter home, and reduces air leaks. A home insulated with ENERTITE is one that requires less energy for heating and cooling. Feature ENERTITE Open-cell Spray Polyurethane Foam FIBER GLASS BLOWN CELLULOSE Per inch R-value* Air Impermeable Yes at 3.5 thickness No No Seamless Construction Yes No No Fully Adheres Yes No No Long Service Life Yes No No Fills Difficult Spaces Yes No No Superior Sound Control Yes Yes Yes * The R-value of this insulation. R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. Compare insulation R-values before you buy. There are other factors to consider. The amount of insulation will depend upon the climate, the type and size of your house, and the fuel use patterns and family size. If you buy too much insulation it will cost you more than what you will save on fuel. To achieve proper R-values, it is essential that this insulation be installed properly. This brochure complies with the Federal Trade Commission labeling and advertising of home insulation rules and regulations, Federal Register, 16 CFR Part 460 Labeling and Advertising of Home Insulation: Trade Regulation Rule; Final Rule, Tuesday, May 31, Air Sealing Fact Sheet, 2 The American Lung Association recommends that houses be built airtight to improve indoor air quality.

Star, Nome, North Slope, Northwest Arctic, Southest Fairbanks, Wade Hampton, Yukon-Koyukuk 2 Zone 1 includes Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands 1 Additional location and climate zone chart detail: Typical house based on prototype house from DOE s report An Estimate of Residential Energy Savings... comparing IECC 2012 to IECC 2006: Single-family, 2-story, 2,400 square foot home with 3 bedrooms Upgrade comparison used ENERTITE SPF to full stud assembly (3.5" or 5.5" dependant on construction style or code R-value requirement) and 6" of ENERTITE SPF in attic along with balance of R-value from blown fiberglass OR to full R-value on unvented roof deck. Air infiltration rate estimates from previous blower door documentation in the range of 1.25 to 1.75 ACH 50, reduced from the average of a 7 ACH rate for the prototype house. As with any airtight construction approach, and to meet IECC code compliance, mechanical ventilation should be provided for proper management of indoor air quality and air exchanges.

The analysis not only contains an estimate of heating and cooling cost savings, but also shows the improvements in the HERS rating for the home, as well as savings that may be possible in HVAC sizing. This results in a net positive monthly cash flow for anyone who invests in ENERTITE open-cell spray polyurethane foam from BASF when building their new home. Start putting money in your pocket from the minute you move in! Very few new home options today actually PAY YOU to choose them! ¹ IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) is a registered trademark of the International Code Council (ICC). ² HERS stands for Home Energy Rating System.
