4 Fitting Lights Sakkho wood tiles can be fitted with all sorts of low voltage LED lights: eiling lights Down lights Step lights Deck lights Wall lights Installation and related advice must be requested from and carried out by licensed electricians only; modified tiles may require reinforcing. Decking and Flooring Sakkho tiles can be placed on flat surfaces, crushed rocks, battens over concrete, a pod and joists system or over a decking sub-floor. Tiles over joists must have their middle, edges, and corners supported. Use three joists 45 mm thick, spaced at 0.5 mm from centre-to-centre. Suitability Sakkho tiles are suitable for residential decking or flooring; the tiles can also be used for commercial deckings when the tiles are subject to a light walking traffic similar to a normal residential use. Wood Acclimation As an hygroscopic material, timber responds to variation in moisture content. Sakkho recommends wooden tiles to be stored at the installation site protected from rain, snow or direct sunlight for at least two weeks before installation to allow the wood absorb or expel humidity, adjust and remain in equilibrium with the ambient atmosphere. Laying Tiles Ideally, to cover a surface use whole uncut tiles centered on the surface; fill remaining spaces and gaps with a timber frame, metal trim, pebbles as required. Tiles can be installed next to each other or with a small gap between each tile creating a continuous pattern. Modifications Sakkho tiles can also be modified in many ways such as cutting a tile to fit a corner wall or fit around a column. Modified tiles should be reinforced to ensure the tile structure remains solid; this can be achieved with extra slats of treated timber or other suitable material to be fitted on the tile base using fasteners or as required for the project. Prepare Always 1 Open packages - leave all tiles boxed on-site covered. 1 Select the correct type of tile base. Stack all boxes allowing air to circulate through. Seek professional assistance to build. 3 Leave the timber on site for about two weeks or more. 3 Reinforce all bases after modifications. 4 Ideally install during a season with an average humidity level. 4 Test the stability of the tiles before use. sakkho teak tiles 3

5 Installation Each Sakkho tile model has a different pattern with gaps in between the top slats of timber varying from 4 to 8mm - fasteners and the installation option should be selected accordingly. Acclimatize wooden tiles on-site prior installation. Regularly maintain Sakkho tiles as the timber will weather.
