3 Warranty The manufacturer warrants each new SCAFCO CORGAL water tank manufactured by it to be free from defects in material or workmanship FOR FIVE YEARS from the date of initial installation by the original purchaser. If such a defect is found by the manufacturer to exist within the five year period, the manufacturer will, at its option, (a) repair or replace such product free of charge, F.O.B. the factory of manufacture, or (b) refund to the original purchaser the original purchase price, in lieu of such repair or replacement. This Warranty includes CORGAL manufactured equipment only and does not extend to other suppliers' equipment. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that if a SCAFCO CORGAL tank liner fails due to defective workmanship in fabrication of the liner within ten (10) years from date of original purchase, and the warranty form has been completed, signed, and returned to Water Storage Tanks, Inc. within thirty (30) days of purchase, Water Storage Tanks, Inc. will repair, or, at its option, replace the liner F.O.B. Austin, Texas on the following basis: Determination of repair or replacement shall be solely at the discretion of Water Storage Tanks, Inc. During the first year after date of original purchase, there shall be no charge to the original purchaser for repair or replacement. After the first year, a charge will be made. This charge will be a percentage of the retail price in effect at the time of replacement or repair. Percentages are based on the length of time from date of original purchase. The following schedule sets forth the percentage rate: After 1 year 25% After 4 years 55% After 7 years 85% After 2 years 35% After 5 years 65% After 8 years 90% After 3 years 45% After 6 years 75% After 9 years 95% After 10 years 100% This warranty is subject to the following terms and conditions: Water Storage Tanks, Inc. shall not be responsible for the cost of removal or replacement of any defective liner, nor for any other expenses or for damages which might be incurred in such removal or replacement. This warranty relates only to manufacturing defects and does not include damage or failure resulting from other causes, including, but not limited to, acts of God, misuse or abuse, accident or negligence, fire, improper installation, or ice damage. Fading, microbiological staining of the liner, or any damage induced by the improper use of chemicals is not covered by this warranty. If a liner should fail during the warranty period as a result of a manufacturing problem covered by this warranty, the original purchaser will notify Water Storage Tanks, Inc. in writing by mail. This notice will contain the liner serial number, date of purchase, and a description of the defect. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. will determine if the liner is to be returned to the factory or will ask that the (1) defective area and (2) the part of the liner stamped with the serial number be cut from the liner and returned. 4 Conditions and Limitations The product must be installed and operated in accordance with instructions published by the manufacturer or warranty will be void. Warranty is void if all structural components of the system are not original equipment supplied by the manufacturer. Water tanks are designed for storing potable or non-potable water and are not warranted for other substances. Other use will void warranty. This product must be purchased from and installed by an Authorized Dealer or Certified Representative thereof or the warranty will be void. Malfunctions, damage or failure resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, accident, misapplication of specifications or lack of proper maintenance shall not be considered defects under this warranty. Standard water tank design is for seismic zone 2B conditions and 90 mph wind. Any other loading condition must be requested (at extra cost) prior to order. "Consequential" or "Special Damages" as used herein include but are not limited to lost or damaged products or goods, costs of transportation, lost sales, lost orders, lost income, increased overhead, labor, and incidental costs and operational inefficiencies. THIS WARRANTY CONSTITUTES THE MANUFACTURER'S ENTIRE AND SOLE WARRANTY AND THE MANUFACTURER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES AS TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSES SOLD, AND DESCRIPTION OR QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT FURNISHED HEREUNDER. Any exceptions to this warranty must be authorized in writing by an officer of the manufacturing company. The manufacturer reserves the right to change models and specifications at any time without notice or obligation to improve previous models. WARNING: Galvanized materials are subject to unsightly "white rust" if moisture is allowed to penetrate the wall sheet or roof bundle. 6 Specifications Water Tanks The basic water tank includes a SCAFCO CORGAL water tank complete with all required wall sheets, roof panels, one roof panel with inspection hatch (except 6, 8 & 9 [1.83 M, 2.44M & 2.74 M] diameter), standard peak cap, roof ladder angles (except 6 [1.83 M] diameter), and roof safety steps (except 6, 8 & 9 [1.83 M, 2.44M & 2.74 M] diameter), inch (25 mil) white FDA PVC liner with patch kit, geo-textile fabric for interior wall and floor lining, liner hanger clips, sidewall access panel (except on one (1) ring tanks), anchor clips and necessary hardware for tank assembly. Bottomless Livestock Watering Tanks These tanks come complete with all required wall sheets, bolts, nuts and bead sealant. The final seal is at the jobsite with roof cement (by customer). Embed bottom of tank in concrete foundation. Water Tank Scope and Specifications 1) A SCAFCO CORGAL water storage tank is a storage system utilizing a corrugated, galvanized steel enclosure in conjunction with a liquid-tight PVC liner. The tank may be constructed with or without a conical galvanized steel roof. Tanks must be constructed on a concrete foundation. 2) Loads: The tank is designed to store potable or non-potable water with a density of 62.4 PCF. 3) Wall sheets are continuous 2-2/3" depth x 1/2" pitch (67.7 MM x 12.7 MM) corrugated galvanized steel with minimum yield strengths of 57,000 psi (3990 Kg/CM 2 ) (Tensile strength 65,000+ psi [4550 Kg/CM 2 +]). All zinc coating shall conform to G-115 (275 grams/square meter) specifications. Thicker zinc coatings are available by request. Wall sheets have a 42-2/3 (1,083.7 MM) nominal coverage. Bottom wall sheets have an inward return flange for additional bearing on foundation. Wall sheets have a coverage length of 9 4-1/2 (2,858 M) long, except for some 6 3 (1,905 MM) long sheets used adjacent to the access door. They are connected with high-strength bolts at the vertical and horizontal seams. a) Vertical seams are punched for single row or double row connections at 1-1/3 o.c (34 MM). Use of single row or double row of bolts at vertical seam is dependent upon diameter and depth of tank. b) Horizontal seams are a single lap connection, using a single row of high-strength bolts. Maximum bolt spacing shall be 9-3/8 (238 MM). 4) Tanks are supplied with a one-piece, 12 gauge (2.67 MM) galvanized steel die-formed anchor clip (minimum one provided per wall sheet). Anchor clip shall be bolted to the tank wall with four bolts. Anchor clip is designed to contact a concrete base. 5) Water tank roofs have a 30 slope, and use single-stage self-supporting roof sheets. Roof sheets are triangular sections of galvanized steel, with brake-formed raised ribs along each side, flat area between ribs (except 6, 8 & 9 [1.83 M, 2.44M & 2.74 M] diameter), and a 90 formed drip edge at the eave. Panels are manufactured from G-115 galvanized steel conforming to ASTM A 446, Grade C, or greater. Roofs of tanks 6 (1.83 M) diameter shall have 6 roof panels. Roofs of 8 (2.44 M) tanks shall have 8 roof panels. Roofs of 9 tanks (2.74 M) diameter tanks shall have 9 roof panels. Panels have a non-ribbed, flat design type, with crimped edge designed to seal over wall sheets. Roofs of tanks 12 & 15 (3.66 M & 4.57 M) have 23 panels (22 straight panels, and 1 double wide with roof hatch). Roofs of tanks 18 through 24 (3.66 M 7.32 M) diameter have 24 roof panels. Roofs of tanks 27 through 36 (8.23 M M) diameter have 36 roof panels. Panels shall have a formed box-type rib with a rib height of 3-1/4 inch (82 MM) rise above flat area. All roof panels (except 6, 8 & 9 [1.83 M, 2.44 M & 2.74 M]) shall be connected to the eave of the tank with Page 6 Price and specifications subject to change without notice. April 1, 2009

7 center clips and a varying number of rib clips depending on tank diameter. Holes in the top ring wall sheets are factory punched for clip installation. Roof ladder cleats extend from eave to center cap. Ladder cleats consist of galvanized steel cold-formed angles of varying lengths bolted to top of one roof panel. (Not supplied on 6 [1.83 M] diameter.) Center opening is 22 (560 MM) diameter for tanks 6 through 24 (1.83 M 7.32 M). Center opening is 36 (914 MM) diameter for tanks 27 through 36 (8.23 M M) diameter. Each roof 12 (3.66 M) diameter and larger shall have one panel equipped with a factory-installed hinged manhole door and latch. Roof manhole door is located at the eave next to the roof ladder. Manhole is trapezoidal shaped; dimensions are 24 x 16 x 19 (610 MM x 406 MM x 483 MM). Safety steps consisting of galvanized steel cold-formed angles shall be bolted to roof ribs around the perimeter of the center opening on tanks 12 (3.66 M) diameter and larger. Roof safety rings are available as an optional item. 6) Standard water tanks are designed for 90 MPH (144 KPH) wind speed, UBC Exposure C. 7) SCAFCO CORGAL tanks are designed for Seismic Zone 2B. The construction of many tanks will meet the Seismic Zone 3 or Seismic Zone 4 loading requirements. Check with the factory for applicability of particular tank sizes. 8) All bolts and nuts are electro-galvanized with JS-500 clear coat protective coating. Roof bolts have factoryinstalled steel-backed PVC washers. Wall sheet bolts have slotted button heads for insertion from inside toward outside. Special DT1500 coated bolts are available upon request. All bolts are heat treated and meet SAE Grade 8.2 or stronger specifications. Extruded bead sealant is supplied to seal the entire length of the vertical seam and approximately 12 of the horizontal seam at horizontal to vertical seam connections. Sealant between foundation and bottom wall sheet is not required unless concrete surface leaves a gap greater than 3/8. Standard erection and anchor bolt setting drawings and installation manuals are furnished with each tank. 9) Liner shall be fabricated from a flexible PVC material manufactured from FDA listed food grade materials capable of containing water. Minimum liner thickness shall be inches. Liners are usually white in color. All seams in tank liners are factory welded. Liner shall be suspended around the inside perimeter of the tank wall structure from liner hanger clips. Other liner materials are available by special quotation. Please consult Water Storage Tanks, Inc. Sales Department. 10) Optional Equipment a) Exterior Ladders: One-piece ladder sections 42-2/3 (1,084 MM) high with steps at 10-2/3 o.c. (271 MM), include ladder sections, ladder mounting brackets, hand-loops and attachment hardware. Entrance security covers are available as an option. b) Safety Equipment: Safety cage and safety rest platforms may be installed with vertical ladders where applicable. Roof stairway packages with handrail may be installed where required. c) Roof Vents: Low profile galvanized, steel roof vents may be installed as required to allow for filling and emptying tank without creating a pressurized condition inside the tank. 8 d) Interior Ladders: All aluminum interior ladders may be installed as required for entry and exit through the roof. Safety Information There are many safety issues to be addressed by the owner and builder of a new storage facility. The major safety items for a water tank are the wall ladders, access to roof openings, and safety inside a tank containing water. Ladders are designed in accordance with current Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and American National Standards Institute standards. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. policy is to provide only safe and usable products. However, as Water Storage Tanks, Inc. is rarely the designer, the decision regarding what ladder, cage or assembly to purchase is often left to the new owner, or the builder. Water Storage Tanks, Inc. can only provide the products purchased by its customers and therefore cannot be held responsible for omissions of necessary safety equipment. Warning labels are affixed to the roof hatch warning prospective entrants of the hazards of suffocation in the water. Again, as Water Storage Tanks, Inc. is not in control of personnel entering the tank, the responsibility for safety in the tank is transferred to the owner and/or entrant. Water Tank Sheet Penetrations Penetrations through tank wall sheets for plumbing or other requirements should be reinforced. If the opening is less than 17" (430 MM) dia., use a corrugated sheet with the same gauge as the sheet for reinforcement. This reinforcing sheet shall be full height and bolt to the horizontal seams on the top and bottom of the adjacent sheet. The sheet may be cut short of the vertical seams. However, it must extend at least 18" (450 MM) beyond either side of the penetration. It must have holes field drilled so that it can be bolted to the wall sheet in a pattern to match the adjacent vertical seam. For penetrations greater than 17" (430 MM), fit a corrugated reinforcing sheet with the gauge shown in the chart below. The dimensions of the reinforcing sheet and the attachment of the reinforcing sheet to the wall sheet shall be as previously described.
