4 DYMAX WORK TOOLS TREE SHEARS FOR EXCAVATORS A Dymax Excavator Tree Shear is the perfect tool for forest utility work, hazardous fuel removal from forest lands, plantation thinning of acacia and eucalyptus, biomass fuels production and trimming limbs and trees for roadside maintenance and site development or alongside railroad tracks. In plantation thinning operations of Acacia and Eucalyptus a Dymax Excavator Tree Shear can average between 100 to 180 trees per hour cutting rates and produce more volume of wood than competing models. Cutting rates are subject to tree spacing, operators, and terrain. FEATURES Bolt on replaceable AR400 razor sharp cutting knives yield up to 1,000 hours of performance and are easily sharpened when worn. All cutting knives are adjustable. Heavy duty cylinder rams with guarded lines. Two fabricated steel grapple arms secure trees to control felling and are powered by two (2) cylinder rams. Sharp, 3/4 AR400 milled knife edges cut through trees with ease. Blade adjustment and replacement is simple and easy. The Dymax Timberwolf hydraulic system features larger lines, reduced pressure loss and a larger rod diameter in the shear cylinder. Hoses are routed internally and are protected from the abusive elements inherent in tree shearing operations. Designed for general land clearing where materials are no more than 14 inches in diameter, Dymax 14 Ranch Axe Tree Shears feature solid cast shearing arms that deliver 60% stronger performance compared to competing products. Dymax 14 Ranch Axe Tree Shears are available with two different styles of shear arms. These are the standard arm and extended arm design. 16 135 Year Family Tradition Dymax Inc. has been leading the forestry industry for decades. From tree shears to brushcutters, Dymax manufactures high quality products backed by exceptional customer service. In the mid 1980s, Dymax worked alongside a major machine manufacturer to convert excavators into feller bunchers. By 1990, Dymax had pioneered the use of skid steer loaders with tree shears to rid the USA Central Plains of moisture depleting junipers, cedars and mesquite. Realizing the time-tested value of shearing technology, Dymax began developing excavator mounted tree shears for use in land clearing operations and maintenance of way activities. The early 2000s brought about the need to develop lower cost and smaller solutions to hazard fuels problems in the National Forests. In response, Dymax introduced new, dedicated Tree Shears and Felling Heads for the U.S. Forest Service. These same tools found their way into use to remove beetle killed pines and for thinning undergrowth. What had started on the prairie quickly moved to the forest. Dymax introduced the Vortex skid steer brushcutter in 2003, delivering whirlwind performance cutting trees and underbrush up to 6 inches in diameter and mulching finer pieces. In 2004, Dymax introduced the new Ranch Axe Tree Shear line for skid steer loaders, featuring the only cast steel shear arm in the market, and with the only built-in cutting knife adjuster.
