He will be joined by a group of performers, the United Voices of Indonesia. Participants are asked to take their seats by 9.45 a.m. to ensure that the conference can open promptly at 10 a.m. The ceremony may also be followed on the screen in Plenary II and on the CCTV monitors around the conference venue. 7 Daily Programme 7 Announcements Credentials Delegation nameplates Pigeonholes for delegates Webcasts from Plenary I and Plenary II Shuttle service Credentials of representatives, alternate representatives and advisers shall be issued either by the Head of State or Government or by the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Delegations are kindly requested to forward the corresponding letter of credentials to the secretariat in the Conference Affairs office, located on the right as you enter the conference venue (Ms. Dianiah Trought-Dederich). Delegates are kindly requested not to remove country nameplates from the meeting rooms. The secretariat is unable to replace these at short notice and this can lead to serious disruptions at meetings. Pigeonholes for the distribution of official documents and messages, which delegates are kindly requested to check at regular intervals, are located in the BICC Exhibition Hall. Participants are requested to refrain from distributing non-official material via the pigeonholes. Meetings in both Plenary I and Plenary II can be viewed via webcast for the duration of the sessions. A shuttle service between the BICC and the Grand Hyatt Hotel (GH) is available to participants. The schedule will vary during the conference. Participants are therefore requested to review this information each day. The pickup point at the BICC is in the main driveway leading to the Westin and BICC, inside the barrier. The shuttle will traverse directly between the two points without stopping. Today s shuttle runs every minutes, from to hours. Security Lost and found items Information for participants inside climate change publications counter Meditation room Participants should ensure that they wear their conference badge in full view at all times, as the security officers may request them to verify their identity. This may lead to some inconvenience at times, but it is expected that participants will understand the need for such arrangements. Participants are reminded not to leave personal belongings in meeting rooms. Documents left in meeting rooms and on unattended desks will be removed. The Security office, located in the corridor next to the BICC Exhibition Hall, is responsible for lost and found items. A booklet on the facilities available at the conference venue, entitled Information for participants is available from the Information desk in the BICC Exhibition Hall and also on the COP 13 website. Participants wishing to distribute documents should contact staff at the inside climate change publications counter on the upper level of the BICC, next to the Climate Change Kiosk. Posters and flyers relating to side events may be affixed to the Poster boards available at prominent locations around the conference venue. A room for meditation and prayer is available to participants on demand. Please contact staff at the Information desk in the BICC Exhibition Hall.

9 Daily Programme 9 Side events Vulnerability, adaptation, energy resilience: tools to reinforce energy system resiliency Discussion of points of vulnerability as they relate to climate change and changes needed to increase resilience. Recommendations will be incorporated into an on-going project to develop tools that assess and increase energy system resiliency in developing countries. Understanding the CDM: finding the way through the maze of rules Presentation of the CDM guide book the reference for project developers. Mitigation potential for Australia, or: should Australia receive a special deal? An exploration of what mitigation potential exists for Australia, sector by sector, and what targets it would be fair for Australia to accept in a post-2012 regime. Climate change and hunger: WFP in the frontlines of climate change adaptation and mitigation Every day WFP fights hunger and destitution brought on by floods, droughts and other extreme events caused or spurred by climate change. This side-event will outline the range and depth of WFP activities that contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation. Key issues and challenges for the post-2012 Kyoto regime What are the key issues and challenges in developing the post-2012 regime? Building grassroots power for action on global warming: Sierra Club's Cool Cities and other models The constructive engagement of civil society is essential at the national and local level. Examples presented in this side event include the Sierra Club's grassroots citizen based Cool Cities Campaign, which has helped achieve climate change commitments from over 200 cities in Canada and the United States of America. Overcoming the communication deficit: how Panos is encouraging debate on climate change in the South Panos supports the media and marginalized communities in developing countries to increase public understanding and debate on climate change issues. Lessons from projects show how better communication can achieve greater inclusion of Southern needs and voices in decisions about climate change. Global warming and human rights: perspectives of Inuit and other vulnerable peoples In 2005 Sheila Watt Cloutier and 62 other Inuit filed a petition against the United States of America with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. The Commission held a hearing in March Other vulnerable communities are now considering similar action. This event will discuss such options and strategies.
