5 TC Standing committees TC Outdoor exposure TC Outdoor exposure task force is currently conducting an outdoor test study the aim of which is to assess the differences of corrosivity of the European outdoor test sites from one year to another An outdoor test of 5 years started for an identical set of samples during 5 years at the same time of the year Corrosion resistance assessed differences between starting years at the focus of interest TC has taken the preliminary decision to stop the experiment this year. The results show no significant differences depending on the starting year.

8 TC Project updates Accelerated corrosion test for aluminium substrates Objective: Develop a replacement for the AASS test Project started a few years ago by a collaboration project with Sintef (University in Norway) A new cyclic test method was developed Better than traditional salt spray but did not cause enough filiform corrosion Project continued as ECCA project with the objective to improve the Sintef method and develop a replacement for AASS Presentation and preliminary report in November 2014

9 TC Project updates Accelerated corrosion test for steel substrates Objective: Develop a replacement for the neutral salt spray test New cyclic test method developed by a project led by FCI Round robin organised by an ECCA working group Conclusions: Test duration too long (2000h) and the test was not severe enough differences between the tested panels were hard to detect. Further development of the test needed! New ECCA project will start in June 2014 a call for interest will follow

10 TC Project updates New RC and RUV classifications EN revision is approaching Objective: Revision of the RC and RUV classifications, introduction of a new, higher performance level to both Project started in Feb 2014, aimed to finish in Apr 2015 No test development using current tests defined in the standards but prolonged testing times No additional testing or collection of data required! New proposals will be defined by common agreement ECCA membership will be consulted before submitting an official proposal
