BACKGROUND As the rapid economic development and increasing population, the demand for energy is steady increasing. Due to the resource endowment, the coal production and consumption has been accounted for more than 60% in the China s primary energy. With the overloading exploitation of the coal resources, a series of environment issues occur, including air pollution, shortage of water resources, land depression and so on. The extensive development patterns seriously restricted the sustainable development of coal industry.
Paper structure COAL MING COAL PRESENTAION COAL TRANSPROTATION CONCLUSIONS ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION COAL UTILIZATION
1. COAL MINING billion tons standard coal production energy production year Total production of energy and coal coal production
For a long period of time, coal will play an important role in economic and social development in China. The increasing number of coal production, met the needs of rapid economic development, ensured the development of national economic and the improvement of people s living life. But many serious damages have been done on atmosphere, water, land and other natural resources in the process of coal mining.
Environmental problems caused by mining air water resouce land CH 4 CO 2 SO 2 and so on coal dust Industry waster water Water resouce depletion land subsidence Industry solid wastes Structure chat of environmental problems caused by coal mining In2011, the total amount of discharge for industry waste waters is 21.3 billion tons and 1.4 billion tongs in mining and washing of coal.
Suggestions: Improve the comprehensive technology of coal and Coal bed methane. Control the total production of coal. Reasonable mining coal combined with the demand for energy. Using ef[icient and clean mining technology to reduce damage to the environment during coal mining.
2. Coal preparation Most of coal is used to combustion directly in China. This is a low ef[iciency way, and through the combustion the harmful substance of coal emissions to the atmosphere, lead to the pollution. Nearly 94% of coal preparation is using water now in China. This intensi[ied the status of water shortage. Other pollutions, such as dust pollution, and mechanical noise pollution are also caused by coal preparation. Coal preparation has great signi[icance for clean and effective utilization of coal, and also the important aspect for sustainable production of coal.
3. Coal transportation Most of the coal resources are distributed in northwest of China. But economic in east and south is more prosperous. This unbalance of distribution calls for active demand of transportation. Noise pollution, dust pollution and exhaust all have obvious effects on the environment. Lay emphasis on the construction of logistics foundation establishments and information system establishments. Optimal con[iguration, effective scheduler and improve the ef[iciency of loading. Use clean energy and dispose of wastes intensively
4. Coal utilization Coal- [ired power million tons Consumption by power generation Total coal consumption Total coal consumption and coal consumption by power generation According to statistic, each production of 1kWh electric will generate emissions of 0.4g soot, 2.3g SO 2 and 2.8g nitrogen oxides.
Land rehabilitation technology. Including topsoil conservation technology, land fertility improvement technology and using coal gangue and [lyash to [illing subsidence land, etc. Phytoremediation technology. This is mainly about planting tough, strong proli[icacy plants in ecological damaged area. So that these plants can play an important role in [ixing soil and water retention. Other ecological restoration technologies. Many researches have done on ecological restoration. We can choose the most suitable technologies depending on damage degree, geographical characteristics and other local conditions.
To realize the clean and ef[icient utilization of coal, improve the utilization ef[iciency of coal. Developing the lateral coal industry chain, improve the rate of waste utilization Adjust energy structure and develop new clean energy Adjust the tax system and complete the mechanism for ecological compensation
