16 IPCC Special Report on Extremes Released March 29, 2012 (Chapter 5 National Strategies) No single recommended approach for planning & implementing adaptation options When ONLY considering the next one or two decades, adaptation to recent climate, impacts AND observed trends may be sufficient For long-lasting risks and decisions, (decades) the sequencing of adaptation options are increasingly important - phasing If Large uncertainties over future climate.
