9 Specific Objectives 1. Establish and assess/evaluate the effectiveness of long-term, multi-discipline, multi-sectoral stakeholder platforms. 2. Identify and understand the current and projected risks associated with climate change impacts for African local governments and communities. 3. Facilitate communities to identify and test current and alternative adaptation methods and strategies to cope with risks associated to climate change. 4. To strengthen and increase the capacity and knowledge of local communities and governments through effective education and communication of climate change science and risks. 5. To develop and/or build on overarching Adaptation Frameworks for a city-wide consolidated and coordinated approach to reducing vulnerability to short- to medium-term climate impacts.

The value of the regional tourism industry and (if available) a break down tourist activities so we can work out the extent to which the coast is central to this tourism. ID of known wetlands and estuaries and their extent and ecological importance.

GDP (or gross geographic product, GGP). Contact of local person locally to whom project team can bounce questions and ideas off.
