2 ENERGY RECUPERATION DOUBLE FLOW UNIT DESCRIPTION APPLICATION Ventilation, energy recovery, thermal comfort and innovating and optimal treatment of indoor quality. Self-regulated, high efficiency and high performance unit for office and industrial installations. Yields greater than 8 % (EN38), complies with directive ErP 29/125/EC. New levels of filtration and purification, control and optimisation of energy consumption. One- or two-piece smart, plug and play unit (EN232). RANGE Available in sizes and 8 models, the range covers flow rates from 5, to 22, m 3 /h. The range is offered in versions each available, on the fresh side, with right- or left-hand access: : self-regulated energy recovery unit without heating coils, with FEE function for optimisation of energy consumption. ELITE : unit combined with the ELITE module for climatic comfort with the choice of one or a combination of two heating coils: water heating coil, electric heating coil, changeover coil, water cooling coil, direct expansion coil, cold only or reversible. PURE : unit combined with the PURE module incorporating new and patented technology allowing indoor to be purified without regular maintenance. Through its instant double action of pollution/contamination removal action combined with the removal of smells, PURE radically removes micro-organisms, viruses, bacteria, mildew, chemical pollutants and all odorous wastes by a unique and patented physical-chemical process. EDEN : unit coupled with the EDEN module combining the various configurations of the climatic comfort offered in the ELITE and the new treatment of indoor offered by the PURE module. CONSTRUCTION The range together with its associated ELITE, PURE and EDEN modules are designed and manufactured in compliance with the EUROVENT certification processes and meet current European standards (EN1886, EN1353, etc.) to guarantee mechanical strength, sealing, acoustic levels and technical performance. Structure in aluminium profile with thermal breaks using polyamide spacers built into the profile (class TB2 in accordance with EN1886). Corners in reinforced polyamide. Double skin panels 1/1th (Class D1 in accordance with EN1886). Insulation: 5 mm high density 5 mm A1 (M) (L1 and T2 class for tightness of the envelope according to EN1886). External surface: RAL 735 pre-lacquered metal sheet with protective film. Internal surface: galvanized steel. Frame in heavy gauge 3/1 galvanised steel. Modules ELITE, PURE and EDEN on 3/1 galvanised feets. Access to the internal components by pivoting doors with progressive locking handles along with a safety latch on all doors. EQUIPMENT MOTOR FANS Plug fans in epoxy-treated galvanised steel. The design of the range (position of the fans) minimises leaks of return to the blast as much as possible and limits the leakage rate caused by the rotating heat exchanger. Direct drive DC motor with high efficiency electronic commutation (EC) thermal cut-out and speed variation integrated for model 1. Direct drive motor, IE2/IP55, thermal cut-out and frequency converters incorporated on models 13 and 17, synchronous motor with permanent magnet IE3/IP55 and frequency converter for model 22. All models comply with phase 2 (2) of directive ErP 29/125/EC. Several flow modulations are available (see page 213). HEAT EXCHANGER High efficiency rotating heat exchanger in aluminium, with variable speed. Heat exchanger in a rigid frame mounted on slides for easy extraction and maintenance. Rotating - heat exchangers produced by KLINGENBURG which participates in the Eurovent certification programme for the AARE. When used for local high humidity, provide a tray condensate (option) under the rotary exchanger. FILTERS High efficiency F7 Opacimetric filters (large filtering surface) for fresh and exhaust.. The filters are always mounted upstream of components to ensure they are protected. Mounted on runners fitted with lip seals to provide effective tightness. Access to the filters by pivoting doors with progressive locking handles and safety latch. Checking of filter fouling at periods which can be changed in the regulation system and fresh filter fouling pressure switch. Optionally, return filter fouling pressure switch and "J" liquid pressure gauges fitted on the unit. 3-WAYS MODULE As standard, the range is fitted with a motor-driven 3-ways mixing system, using class opposing displacement aluminium profiled blades. The dampers composing this 3-way module are controlled and managed automatically by the regulation system and provide antifreeze, insulation and fire safety functions (damper downstream of the fresh filter), optimisation of energy gains and quality of the indoor ( PURE and EDEN ) on start-up (recirculation) and when the unit is in operation using the FEE principle: Free Energy Efficiency (see features section). PROBES The module is fitted as standard with: Outdoor/fresh temperature probe, supply probe, return temperature probe and CO2 probe. These probes are all fitted and wired in the unit and connected to the regulation system. They carry out all the functions enabling the unit to operate optimally in accordance with the actual requirements of the installation and are involved in the implementation by the regulation system of free-cooling, night-cooling, cold recovery, recirculation and the econological FEE solution (Free Energy Efficiency). ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT AND REGULATION SYSTEM This sealed compartment incorporated into the unit includes all the electrical components and regulation system. Provided with pivoting doors fitted with progressive closing handles and a safety latch, this compartment contains the electrical control panel, the smart regulation system using and the inverters for the motors (models 13 to 22). The access door to the electrical compartment accommodates a display panel with an IP65 LCD screen for interior or exterior installation, and a lockable switch. The display on the front panel gives access to the settings and setpoints of the regulation system. A fixed strip fitted with grommets allows the unit to be electrically connected providing quick and simple installation. A remote control with features similar to the display panel (at 1m or 1km combined with repeater), or a touch user screen for temperature control, restart, default, etc. functions may be connected to the regulator present in the compartment. (up to 1 m). Weekly internal timers allow operation at two flow rates, programmableas required on site with two setting periods per day for each flow rate. Timer for setting annual holidays and public holidays. Weekly timer for starting/stopping recirculation. P28
3 DOUBLE FLOW UNIT DESCRIPTION The regulation system integrated into the unit enables the various configurations of the ELITE climatic module, the PURE module (indoor quality) and the EDEN module (climatic comfort and indoor quality) to be managed. ELITE EQUIPMENT The ELITE version combines an ELITE module with the same cross-section as the unit enabling heating coils to be incorporated in the system to provide climatic comfort suited to the environmental conditions and the operating requirements of the building. This module can be fitted with: Hot water coil only (H). Hot water coil and direct expansion coil (HDX). Electric heating coil and direct expansion coil (EDX). Cold water coil only (C). Electric heating coil (E). Hot water coil and cold water coil (HC). Electric heating coil and cold water coil (EC). Changeover water coil (CO). Cold direct expansion coil only (DX) or reversible (DXR). The direct expansion coil is managed by the outdoor unit. An interface (optional) to the unit regulation system sends a signal to start the chiller unit. As standard, the ELITE modules incorporating a cold coil or a direct expansion coil are fitted with a STAINLESS STEEL condensate tray mounted on a runner for quick extraction and easy maintenance. In addition, the module incorporates a removable trap connected on the outlet from the condensate tray and connected to a drain on the lower part of the module. These internal components are accessed by means of a door with a handle and a safety latch. PURE EQUIPMENT As standard the regulation is delivered in language MODBUS, WEB and BACNET. Available in optional LON The PURE version combines a PURE module of the same cross-section as the unit to purify the indoor environment by means of an innovative and patented system. Currently indoor is on average 5 to 2 times more polluted than outdoor. However we spend 7 to 8% of our time in closed spaces. This observation reveals the negative impact of indoor pollution on comfort and well-being. This indoor contains polluants, micro-organisms, viruses and mildew in larger concentrations than the outdoor. In addition, the trend to design buildings with low energy consumption accentuates this phenomenon of confinement and concentration of these pollutants. Nowadays, the quality of indoor has become a major public health challenge, one of the subjects most studied by health authorities. Using the innovative, patented and certified CLEARMOTION, technology of the PURE module, the unit has no limit to its application scope: group housing, service sector, hospitals, industry. The technological principle of CLEARMOTION consists of cutting the carbon molecules (polluants, viruses, bacteria, smells, allergens, etc.) which recompose naturally into stable water (H2O), oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) molecules. The contribution made by the innovative technology in the PURE module makes it possible to obtain in its original state. EDEN EQUIPMENT The EDEN version combines an EDEN module of the same cross-section as the unit incorporating within the same module the climatic functions available in the ELITE module and the innovative and patented technology of the PURE module which purifies the indoor environment. This EDEN version is unique and new to the handling and energy recovery unit market and ensures your unit will be able to be used in all types of building and in all climates. FEATURES The range is self-regulating, plug and play and communicates on a MODBUS RS85. Based on the principles of high efficiency (more than 8%) energy recovery (EN38 and EUROVENT certification of the heat exchanger), reductions in CO2 emissions (in compliance with the 2nd step planned in 2 by directive ErP 29/125/EC), performance requirements for conditioning and ventilation systems (EN13779, PSFP less than 1.5), our programme incorporates a complete and innovative system for implementing optimal econological solutions based on temperature criteria (indoor and outdoor) and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). FEE : FREE ENERGY EFFICIENCY Using the 3-ways module fitted as standard to the range, the FEE function is managed autonomously and automatically and provides maximum optimisation of energy gains. Depending on the outdoor temperature, the blowing setpoint temperature (or ambient temperature of exhaust ), the 3-ways module controlled by modulating servomotors provides partial or total recycling (9% to maintain 1% fresh, adjustable) to limit energy consumption and heat or cold production. This function will also be interlocked to the quality of the extracted through a CO2 probe incorporated within the unit which determines to what extent the FEE function can be used without degrading the indoor quality (threshold 1 ppm in compliance with current regulations). This CO2 setpoint threshold can be adjusted on site. Depending on the situation, the FEE function provides energy savings of more than %. FREE COOLING To optimise the energy contribution from the fresh, the unit is fitted with temperature probes on the outdoor and the ambient of the building (probe on the return ) which are used to control the motor to optimise the speed of the rotating heat exchanger. In summer, when the outdoor temperature drops to less than the indoor temperature, the rotating heat exchanger is stopped and the unit operates using fresh only. COLD RECOVERY During the summer, if the interior temperature is less than the exterior temperature, the rotating heat exchanger operates so as to recover the energy and optimise energy consumption. At this point, the FEE (Free Energy Efficiency) function activates to improve energy savings if the CO2 content of the indoor (threshold 1 ppm adjustable) allows this. *En standard la régulation est livrée en langage MODBUS, WEB et BACNET. 4 ENERGY RECUPERATION DOUBLE FLOW UNIT DESCRIPTION P21 NIGHT COOLING The night cooling function enables the indoor temperature of the building to be lowered according to the climatic conditions over the last 2 hours. Thus between midnight and 7 a.m. (time slot adjustable), the night cooling function starts if the outside temperature exceeds 22 C (adjustable) during the day (between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m.). Night cooling operates if the outside temperature is between 1 and 18 C (adjustable) and if the exhaust temperature is greater than 18 C (adjustable). In addition, this function has a specific configured ventilation speed set to 85% (adjustable). RECIRCULATION To optimise the energy consumption of the range, the regulation system enables a timer to be set for the recirculation ranges (outside the LS/HS operating times). During this period, the unit starts up with recycled only (fresh and exhaust dampers closed on the 3-ways module) with gradual run-up of the heat exchanger, fans and coils (ELITE and EDEN versions) in order to set the temperature of the heat exchanger and indoor environment. For an PURE or EDEN unit this recirculation function also enables the indoor to be purified before the users of the building arrive. For energy saving reasons, the night cooling function takes priority over the recirculation function. INDOOR AIR QUALITY As standard, the range is fitted with a CO2 probe on the exhaust. This probe allows the 3-ways module to be configured to maintain a suitable CO2 rate. To strengthen indoor quality, the PURE and EDEN versions purify the indoor environment by means of an innovative, patented and certified technology. This technology CLEARMOTION is based on the combination of photocatalysis with a cold plasma. Photocatalysis is a semi-conductor-based process used for purifying and water. The cold plasma is the ionisation of an inert gas by electrical discharge which creates highly-oxidative free radicals which in turn mineralise the pollutants by modifying their chemical structure (destruction of carbon chains). Combining these two technologies prevents the formation of reactive by-products since the cold plasma allows rapid but sometimes incomplete mineralisation compensated by the photocatalysis which provides good mineralisation with a slow kinetic. This is a real innovation, patented with certified results through analyses carried out by the Intertek International Laboratory (microbiological analysis) and the Tera Environnement Laboratory (VOC analysis). This technology CLEARMOTION is the local integration of a dielectric barrier discharge via a silicon matrix. The free radicals thus generated instantaneously degrade any carbon chains inside the treatment chamber which remineralise into stable H2O, O2, N2 and CO2 molecules. These analyses have been able to confirm and certify the decontamination, depollution and deodorisation capabilities of the process employed in the PURE and EDEN ranges. This innovative technology also saves energy since the pressure losses and consumption (max. 3 Pa/33 W for model 22) are negligible considering its efficiency and the flows treated. The operation of the PURE and EDEN modules is managed and controlled by the regulation system of the unit. The technology does not require any regular maintenance. In the event of a fault, an alarm report is displayed on the LCD screen of the unit. An LED panel integrated in the PURE/EDEN module shows each component (lamps, DBD) and indicates which is defective. Thanks to this innovative technology, the PURE and EDEN units can be deployed in all types of building, group housing, service sector, hospitals, professional restaurants, industries, etc. HEAT EXCHANGER FOULING SAFETY SYSTEM To avoid the heat exchanger becoming fouled while the fans are operating and energy recovery is inactive (heat exchanger stopped), the regulation system automatically carries out a rotation of the heat exchanger (average 1 minute per hour). FIRE SAFETY The internal regulation cabinet of the unit has two terminals for connecting a "Fireman's stop" on opening which forces the immediate and complete shutdown of the unit (fans, rotating heat exchanger, etc.) and closes the fire safety damper situated downstream of the fresh filter and the extracted damper. As an option, the unit may be factory-fitted with an optical smoke detector connected to this contact. SMART REGULATION The range and its ELITE, PURE and EDEN versions are plug and play. The regulation system factory-fitted, wired and tested is integrated into a sealed compartment. As standard, the regulation system is supplied in MODBUS BACNET or WEB but can also be provided on request in LON, BACNET, WEB. As standard, the unit is fitted with an LCD IP65 screen on the front panel. As an option, it is possible to connect one and/or another of the following remote controls: LCD remote control with the same features as the front panel screen and which can be moved from 1 m to 1 km (requires repeater option) or limited to 1m if the unit is connected to a BMS. User control with touch screen which can be moved up to 1 m whether or not the unit is connected to a BMS. units are intended for the ventilation and comfort treatment of indoor environments with average humidity. They are not suited to humid environments such as swimming pools, saunas, sea therapy, laundry, etc. When carrying out clean compensation and renewal, the regulation system of the unit acts on the temperature control according to the season. In Winter, the regulation system controls the blowing temperature according to the outdoor temperature (adjustable law). If the external temperature goes over 13 C (setpoint adjustable) the the regulation system goes into control mode on the extracted temperature (setpoint adjustable). For comfort (ELITE/EDEN) use providing heating and/or cooling to the building along with clean renewal, the unit regulation system acts on the temperature control of the extracted from the building (setpoint adjustable) or on the ambient temperature (optional ambient probe). The regulator is fitted with a battery which enables users settings to be maintained in the event of a power cut. Changeover from summer time to winter time is automatic (although this function can be disabled).
